Akuma actually pretty chill if your not a strong opponent or fighter trying to fight, you can catch him selling fruits and even minding a store in some instances.
Akuma doesn't hurt kids and seen giving fruits and ice cream to children. He even make recipes in his time.
Bison imo is far worse then anything akuma could ever be, he's want dictatorship and anything illegal you can think of.
Now that i read your comment, ryu and akuma ending in sf5 makes a lot of sense. Ryu don't see the crazy mofo who kills ppl he fights against, he sees a guy trying to tame evil while doing the less evil he can. What an impressive turn of perspective i had now.
I kind of like that about Akuma, he is one of the most powerful characters in the universe, but he still has a nice side that very few can bring out. Even though the Satsui no Hado has influenced his power, he still has some signs of humanity. I thought he was a villain for so long, but I wonder if he is more just his own character
To be fair, he''s also not an idiot, don't care how strong you are, a ballistic missile works the same on everyone, he also doesn't kill innocents, he barely kills fighters. So Elena hugging up on him makes sense, he's also been shown to have a soft spot for women, Akuma doesn't mind having friends, he's just also very bored and moody.

As someone who don't know anything about street fighter lore, seing Sagat being loved by a whole village seems so weird yet so heartwarming
he is a reformed villain who just wants to be a great martial artist these days
Used to be the greatest fighter in the world, in a fight against ryu, he lost when ryu lost himself to his evil side, and sagat was sent to the hospital with a pretty deep wound on his chest. After that humiliating lost, he seeked revenge so badly he joined m bison to have a chance to fight ryu again. After doing so he won, but later realized ryu let him win the fight, and after confronting him about it, ryu told sagat that he knew what sagat was going through with the revenge thing, and the whole revenge thing is what drove ryu to lost himself to evil and wound sagat, so it was a way to apologize himself to sagat. Both became friends after this, and sagat went back to Thailand like a hero, like he was before.
The "villains" in the SF canon (excluding Bison) are really just antagonists. They have goals, children, wives/husbands, hobbies and friends. Akuma for example, just wants a proper rival, he doesn't beat on innocents, children or women. He likes fruits, goes bowling, and even talks to other fighters.

Also, he's not really evil, (until he becomes Oni) he just believes that mercy and compassion have no place on the battlefield, and if you die, you die. Plenty of other Capcom artworks have depicted him being friendly and kind to non-combatants such as giving food to children, or helping out a boy who got lost in his caves.

I don't think it's a selfie, and they may just be her memories, not necessarily photographs. Bear in mind that the timeline of Street Fighter 4 takes place in the early to mid 90's. Cell phone cameras didn't exist yet, and taking a selfie was pretty much impossible since you had no way of knowing what the picture would look like until it developed. C. Viper may have something close, since she's a secret agent for the government, and Shadaloo/S.I.N. has high level tech, but Elena certainly wouldn't. Also it looks like she kind of just jumped on his back, he doesn't seem too thrilled.

14:36 Poor Ryu he's still resisting but fails because he has fallen to deep into the killing intent. That little hesitation is what is preventing him from turning into Kage.
He managed to do it in sf5, and now his evil self is tempting others. Interesting enough, akuma seems to actually not be as evil and savage, as we would believe, since when Kage tempted him, he showed total mastery on the assassin intent. So he basically could have killed like, 99% of the roster, but he just want to finish the ones he consider honorable fighters like his brother, gen and the ones who did shit to him like bison... Crazy to think about.

The subtitles are to the English voice track which is dubbed to the lip movements and not the literal translations. That's why they're off sometimes.
