  • Throughout History there have been a few examples of Kings and Queens who were executed for treason against their own people. They lost their heads on devices such as the guillotine, but Charles I was executed by axe. The story of what happened to these monarchs heads after their executions is ruthless and brutal. In this documentary we look at the fates of the heads of the executed Kings and Queens.

You have repeated a great many myths about Marie Antoinette. No she did not spend any more than any of the other royals. No she was not uncaring about the French people. In fact quite the opposite. There was a great deal of xenophobia toward her because she came from Austria. But she saw herself as a French princess and later queen. It is unfortunate that people focus on these myths instead of the real reasons for the French Revolution. Namely that royalty and the church/clergy were exempt from paying taxes so the entire cost of funding the country fell on the common people. Additionally, the French government was bankrupt due in large part to Louis XVI having supported the American Revolution. People would do well to consider the similarities between the tax situation then in France and now in the US where the wealthiest people are able to get away with paying very little to nothing in taxes, and the same with corporations and religious institutions.

The crazy thing too is she would attempt to chime in when it came to the French political affairs but was silenced each time. Like she did NOT deserve what she got in the slightest

*King Charles I died the same way his grandmother, Mary, Queen of Scots died. Also his poor wife, Queen Henrietta Maria, lost her Dad and her husband tragically. She was an infant when her Dad was assassinated and her youngest daughter, Henrietta Anne, was a little girl of 4 when she lost her Dad, King Charles I. I'm an accountant so I notice patterns & similarities. RIP to these maligned monarchs.
