I would look after I used the toliet to make sure I flushed before leaving the stall.

I'd say it's good to look in the toilet after, you notice any oddities in your pee or poop (ie. blood or odd colors) , and it can often let you know if you need to go to the doctor

Okay, in Europe, so I have been told, it's actually Not A Thing to flush the toilet every single time you use it. Only when you ... I'm gonna steal one from Rebecca Parham and say, 'release the hounds' ... do you hit the flusher. Why? Conservation, I think. So, it's entirely possible Jaiden was all 'when in Rome... er, I mean London' and followed that convention, so she didn't try to flush her wallet.

Looking to the toilet after peeing or whatever you have done there, it's normal. It happens to me too XD
If I'm correct, I remember saw a..."curious" fact that humans (not everyone but most of them) look in the toilet to make sure that pee or poop are in a normal state, like, you are making sure that your insides are functioning correctly. Or else, if they present a different color that are unusual, it's a clue that there's something off and you should go to the hospital. It's a primal instinct, so don't worry :)
