Damn fine sounding single-coil tones coming from those FAT 60's of your RETRO CLASSIC!Which Humbucker do you have in your RETRO the 327,302 or the FULL-BLOWN model! I really like the clips I have heard of the GROSH 327 HB! Mac
Also I've heared people pickup the exact same guitar to the exact same rig and settings and sound very different. Also it makes a huge difference whether you're just a beginner or an advanced player. The more gain you use the less of a difference it will make, but there will always be difference in sound between different players.
That Axe had Fralins in it, I do have a new retro classic with the fat 60's. I love them in all positions. To me, they sound a bit smoother and sweeter than the Fralins. No Clean,...but, there is a link in my vids labeled "MVP" you can hear them Thanks! PM
Krispcritter, i don't agree with you on technique not having anyhing to do with individual people's tone. Just the way of hitting the string makes a Is Goed change in tone. Where you hit, how you hit, how hard you press down on the string, the vibrato the etc... Etc.... It
To my ears, these Fralins provide a tone that resembles curling up with a good book by the fireplace with a warm cup of cocoa.... smooth and magical~ 99% of a guitarists sound come from the pick ups and the cable a player uses. The fingers or the individuals technique have very little to do with a players sound, it all in the electronics.
Fingers are everything, my playing is the same with a Strat, a Telly and even a Les Paul.. if you don't have a great tone in your fingers please don't give wrong informations in the web..
I have Fralin blues specials in my 1997 grosh serial in the 300s they sound great.great feeling neck on my Grosh
Thanks Gibby!

Is that the fat 60s? How's the quack in 4th position compared to vintage low output pickups?
