Brunson had a way better season that i think most of us expected but especially post all star break he was playing like the best guard in the east. He never gets sped up by a defender always able to play at his own pace and get to his spots in the midrange incredibly comfortably

As a Mavs fan I still root for him, and most likely will till he retires. He was way more important for our team then any Mavs fan (or our FO) wants to admit. Not only on the court, but also in the locker room. He is a true leader. He was in highschool, college, during the Mavs WCF rung, for the Knicks and will be for this years US WC team.
Just thinking about that my Mavs could still have him on a 14.5 mio per year contract for 3 more years right now still makes me extremely sad... Sometimes I just hate my Mavs FO...

Proved he’s at bare minimum a top 5 PG in the east when the ball is put in his hands. A (90s) traditional floor general. He has an automatic mid range floater and pull up. Can take guys to the post. Can shoot close enough to 40% from 3. You put a superstar with him, you really have something. A guy that can get his from anywhere. Doesn’t need the ball all the time and can actually make the superstar better.
