I just got this phone and so far love it and it's so fun to use. For casual photos I'm fine with this phone but if I'm traveling or going to an event I'll use my S23 Ultra. Also got my Sony A7III.
I didn't think that the flip phones were aimed for photography, but more for phone calls and productivity. I though that the S line was aimed more for photography. But I would recommend finding an ND filter to use on the phone, to let the programing readjust for specific situations. That's just a though and maybe some suggestions, I can be wrong.
Just watches oppo's trailer of flip3, massive canera improvement. I always thought my flip 4 has the biggest drawbacks in terms of camera department. Really appreciate oppo for doing it
@thegamingbegginers5777 but the thing is oppo, and a lot of other phones don't get released in the United States. There are phones that are banned from coming into the United States because they are a Chinese manufactured phone company or the manufacturer outside of China only release there phones in the European market and don't sell it in the United States. But I understand what you mean. There are better phones with better cameras, but a lot of them don't get released in the United States.
@SPIKE3725 they're not gonna let that happen these companies like apple funds the governments. If the chinese phone manufacturer gets to US apple and any other smartphone sales gonna suffer. You know u can a phone with top of the line snapdragon 8gen 2 in under 450$ in India.

For most amateur users, the cameras are fine. What is better is one can use the cover screen to take selfies using the front lens. Fare better quality than other cameras.
It is very important to mention that the tripod mode only takes portrait mode pictures. So the camera has to be placed further away if you want to crop it to get a horizontal horizontal 16:9 or 4:3 horizontal. So then not only is your motive due to the larger distance with less resolution, you also only have the lesser vertical resolution now as horizontal.
I dumped my s23 and bought a Sony rx100 m7 also an m50 m2. But. I can carry the Sony and my flip in my front pickets. Never again will I buy a cell phone for the cameras.
I was a die hard iPhone user for years. I got this Flip 5 and not only did I have to get used to using a droid, but alternating the settings on it as well. I'll admit that I haven't taken tons of pics with it, as of yet, but given the fact that I have a trip to S. Korea coming up, I am interested in how the shots will come out. I'm going back and forth on whether I should get a smaller camera to take pictures on (I don't want to be "the tourist" when I'm there). Anyone have any suggestions on what would be best?
just went to the Philippines last month and I brought my G7xII, which was perfect with the quality, size, video button and zoom (for me). only downside was PH was rainy, so I had to rely on my iPhone 12 pro most of the time

The S line i.e S23 ultra is where you'll find the bells and whistles. This phone main focus is decent cameras and the Samsung flip functionality and UI. So I can adjust what your question no it won't replace professional photography lol and it doesn't need to either let's be honest
I traded the Flip5 for an iPhone 15 Pro Max because although I prefer android os and love Samsung devices the biggest downsides to the Flip5 that made it unbearable for me were the fact that the main screen was way too narrow making watching videos and general use for large sized hands like myself too difficult and the phone looked comical in my hands and the other issue was the visible bend not only could you see it but you could feel it like a speed bump on a smooth road
Brother, my Google Pixel 7 Pro is actually quite awesome. Only thing with good camera phones, there is a lot of computational things going on. But your test shots are great man.
I have a flip 3 & it overheats & the battery & camera are horrible. The camera can't take low light photos at all, & the flip 5 still has the same camera as the 3.

When photographing with the smartphone bent at 90⁰ is it possible to use the lower part of the screen for framing or just the upper part as shown in the video??? It would be an interesting "shoot from the hip" experience.
I have an android and getting ready to get another phone but having trouble deciding do i want another android snart phone or i phone i use my phone occasionally for making videos and photography this video was a good one for me gave me some ideas in a way so yes i would like more still trying to decide before i go get another one which is better i phone or android

But for a smartphone of these modern days, I like how you just can tuck it away so small. Ngl. It's awesome. Just don't fold it as long as you don't really need to . Be careful with the folding screen.
Apple has been sketching out blueprints of foldable phones, that's the rumor. It'd a thing, it's still beta, but eventually it'll be a norm. That large screen phones are coming to an end.

I am not happy with the flip 5 camera. For video , it will be dark /noise. Wide angle is not wide enough. Try it.

The camera zoom (Z Flip 4) photos are terrible. The screen lasted for 2 years before it separated at the crease. Longer than I expected.

Yes! You can flip the viewfinder to the lower half. Comes in clutch for certain angles
