Its a great movie for sure. I never made to it to Pitcairn Islands but fascinating place all things considered. Brilliant execution bringing the epic yet also kinda lost and desperate feel of this to life again. Clever stuff

Dès les premières notes on est pris dans un mouvement qui nous conduit vers la terre promise. j'aime cette marche, ce mystère qui règne derrière ta musique, comme si on avançait avec bcp de prudence pour échapper à la mauvaise surprise. Et tes images et extraits vidéos vont très bien avec ta composition en hommage à " The Bounty" :))) Rencontre entre deux peuples, l'amour naissant, la domination de l'homme blanc. Superbe réalisation mon cher Fred :))

That opening bass line is so impressive, really grabs the listener. Around 2;00 the melody comes in and it reminds me of one of the themes in the soundtrack. You have fully re-imagined this one and gave it your own treatment. That pulsing bass line gives it an ominous mood of impending trouble. The swirling arps at 4:20 and the added orchestration build the depth and sonic complexity. Great recording skills as always.

Very cool Fred! I am not familiar with the music as I haven't seen the movie. I would guess the original music is almost identical to your tribute as I know you would spend a lot of time getting it as close as possible.
The other day I launched my VST sequencer and was looking through the presets as a way to check out the Crave and I had forgotten it has a few Vangelis sequences in it. Pulsar, Spiral and Blade Runner end theme. I was having fun with Spiral and Pulsar sequences.
It must be a lot of fun for sure ! Thanks for the compliment and yes I tried to be close to the original but not to copy it. I know you didn't say that but I just want to say that it's important for me to make a distinction between a cover (which is actually way more complicated than it seems at first glance) and a tribute. I like to keep my signature sound and be free to go wherever the music is leading me. Anyway, appreciate the kind words as always man !
@@nolake I can see why you would do that for sure. More like the original artist made a live version that was definitely recognizable, but also definitely its own thing, if that makes sense. The main point I was trying to convey was that you would treat it with love and put yourself fully into it.

It seems I'm receiving a recommendation to check out this movie, as I never saw it before, but if it's one of your favorites consider me intrigued. I'll have to check it out. The main synth provides a great pulse or lifeline to the track. I also really like those odd otherworldly types of sounds. Masterful layering, delayed elements, sound quality and progression as always. I don't know much about Vangelis' work, but with an end result like this he should be impressed with this tribute, if he was still here that is. Great mysterious and dark journey. I love those reverse ocean waves in the video also. Quality composition and performance sir Frédéric!

Not many from around this neck of the woods will do that type of thing, but what you will get is a lot of shortcuts, nah mean? (You know what I mean?) Actually in French the ! should be close the word too. I admit that I pay more attention to the spelling that to the punctuation. In Germanic languages there are few useless letters where in French there are a lot of useless letters or different ways to write the same word, it makes the language very complicated to write. The word lazy for instance can be written feignant, faignant or fainéant. Yeah, cool, chose your weapons 😅
