I'm American and I love that damn weapon ever since playing 007 Golden Eye. Used to call it the Mammoth gun because on screen when firing it appeared large and it could soot through doors. xD
This thing has a nice design indeed. Been designed so the belgian special forces can shoot out of cars, hence the short size and ejection on the bottom. You don't want empty casings flying around in your car, trust me. :) With all the options (silencer, sights) this thing looks really badass.
the PDW project is meant for troops who aren't in the first line. Tank commanders use them to defend theirselves, eventhough they normally aren't supposed to take part in a rifle shootout. As a Belgian, I'm proud because this is a magnificent weapon, but no civilian should be able to purchase it.
Caliber is not just about the diametre of the round. The amount of powder pushing the round out of the cartridge is also a factor. The 5.56mm (which happens to measure 5.7mm) round used in the M16 is pressed into a 45mm case. The 5.7mm round used in the P90 is pressed into a 28mm case. Even when using the same bullet weight, the 5.56mm round is going to have a lot more velocity on account of the greater amount of powder charge propelling it. 55 grain 5.7mm = 305 m/s. 55 grain 5.56mm = 975 m/s.
Like the other day I was at Cabella's. My bro and I were checking out an SKS for $230, a FiveseveN (Coincidence?) Benelli m-4 tactical with desert camo, and a Taures Judge, and a titanium Smith and Wesson, and an AR-15!! GOOD STUFF!
If you shake the mags or drop them, all the rounds fall out. And if you don't use the special FN mag-holders, all the rounds could fall out while you're running and dropping and doing alot of physical stuff. They didn't do it on purpose, the holders were a solution to the problem. But I still wish they'd really fix the problem. Then it'd be just about damn perfect.
@chavhater223 the mp7 has a hgher penetrative power and a lower stopping power.the mp5 has a slightly higher stopping power but a MUCH lower penetrative power.not to mention 5.7s are known to have about 30% less recoil then 9mm.only reason why the mp5 is more used is because 9mm ammo is cheaper and the gun has been been around for a lot longer so the accessory/ammo supply is a lot higher.
A lot of the weapons are belgian, P-90, FAL, FNC, M249 (SAW) or minimi (as it's called by the belgian military),FN2000 and the Five-seven pistol made to pierce bulletproof vests. All great works of modern Belgian efficiency.(although making weapons is not that ethical :P)
The P90 (in my opinion) is the most tactical SMG in the world. It's compact, offers high mobility, has a good rate of fire, and has a good magazine size. After all, it IS a PDW weapon
You have to buy or transfer one though a class 3 dealer. All you have to do is send the forms back and forth to the ATF, pat $200 tax and get is signed off by local LE.
p90 has a build in reddot, export version has a rail. but even the version with build-in-dot had two iron-sights, one left of the reddot, and one right of it...
alot of the situations there deal with mid range shots on top of buildings the m-16 does a great job of that and they use alot of m-4s also which is a carbine and more compact with the same round maybe a little less accurate for close quarters
@Dox482 The 90 is both an SMG and a carbine. the two terms are not exclusive. The definition of an SMG is a full-automatic gun firing pistol ammunition. The SS190 5.7x28 round was originally developed for the FN Five-seveN pistol... therefore the P90 is an SMG. The definition of a carbine is that it has a short barrel. The P90 is therefore also a carbine.
@Smileren3 the civilian model has a longer barrel (actually better because it increases power and accuracy, allthough it looks goofy,) it is legal and it will run you about 1500-2000 grand easy. also keep in mind the cost of ammo considering 5.7 isn't really a mainstream round, and the cost of anything you may need, magazines, parts, rails etc.
Its amazing. My favorite weapon. Problem with the standard P90 is the stock optic. Its ok, but you really need a good red dot. Problem with that is how high it sits on the weapon as you can see. Screws up your POIs
It's officially a Submachine gun. A PDW can be a submachine gun. And Personal Defense Weapon itself is a concept that isn't recognized by many and hasn't reached any real success.
I fuckin LOVE the bullpup design! All the power of an AR/smg that only extends about 6" over ur front hand...perfect for CQC! While deployed, I got to shot one of these [p90] and an AUG! Even tho the AUG had the range n accuracy that I was used to with the m4, I still like the p90 better!
@dontmakemeMAD1990 The 90 is both an SMG and a PDW. the two terms are not exclusive. The definition of an SMG is a full-automatic gun firing pistol ammunition. The SS190 5.7x28 round was originally developed for the FN Five-seveN pistol... therefore the P90 is an SMG.
There's a slope that will turn the bullets side ways before it goes into chamber, see the "circle" spot it's a spiral place. I don't have the gun but just looking at it can tell easily. and by the way, the bullet is know for it's stopping power as in stop people, but not kill it. It's bullet is basically 22 magnum. Troublesome for military, favorable in law enforcement. This is why Mp7 got an edge for being good stopping power but lack power in soft target due to the rounds.
most if not all bullets designed for military use tumble, it compensates for the fact that they arn't allowed to use fragmenting or deforming rounds, so tumbling does the damage. penetration is a separate issue, the claims that they can penetrate armour with ease, are with using the military grade armour piercing 5.7mm rounds, which civilians will not be able to get their hands on.
FN is awesome with their ambidexterious features. They are the only bullpup rifles I respect because I am a lefty. I have a friend who had a Bushmaster M17, biggest piece of garbage ever, I'm not hating on it because I'm a lefty (maybe just a little bit) but the fact that it constantly jammed.
is there a place where I can go and choose any weapon I wanna use and shoot at cardboards without buying the weapon but pay a small fee for trying it instead ?
lol in GoldenEye, the P90 (called the RC-P90) was overpowered; and in CoD 4, people tell you to put away the damn noobcannon if you use the P90. It's well-represented. In the games I've seen it in, it's been top shelf. Not sure which ones you're thinking of.
Switzerland But the weapon-law is great in my country: You can get a 0.5 inch pistol in less tha 4 weeks. And you can buy your army weapon (a great rifle and a quite good SIG pistol) for less than 100 Dollars. But only if you was part of the army
I got to handle one of these at a gun show and let me tell you. As ergonomic as it looks it didn't agree with me at all. Very good design otherwise although I still prefer the calico.
ya know when the squirrel you missed in the front lawn yesterday with the short barreled m16. Just swap the upper out with a longer one and get mr. squirrely when he's up the tree 150 yards away :) what dont all you people do the same thing in the morning?
its a submachine gun manufactured by Fabrique Nationale de Herstal, however Sturm, Ruger & Company have made a pistol called the p90-no way are they similar...
I love the design of this firearm, and the pros it has make it a great weapon to both, really love it
I too just saw these at a gun show this morning. Most ran around $1500 and my lord, I want one!
Its the clip that does it mate. They are they right way around by the tie they get to the barrel. Bloody briliant design if you ask me.
Thank you for that elaborate response. I learned something, thanks.
Still my favorite weapon to this day glad this video is still up

I love this gun. I mainly like the design of it.
15 years old and still looks futuristic
amazing piece of engineering

ak was made in 1947, still used today. one of the best guns made.

That is one hell of a sexy weapon!
i love the p-90, it is such an awesome gun.

It has a longer barrel than a MP5 by about 38mm. That is the magic of a bullpub design.
this is by far my favorite gun

p90,g36c and mp5 the best rifles

interesting design. very cool gun. think it could replace the MP5 as the go to SMG anytime soon?
now thats a weapon people!!!! 10/10 Good job

Love using the P-90 dual in MW Games :)
Holy **** a gun, that's awsome!!!!!!!!!!

Even tho the AUG had the range n accuracy that I was used to with the m4, I still like the p90 better!
fuck yeah! the p90 should be considered an LMG with its fire power!
Much better round then the 9x19mm ant killer parabellum.
Awesoem video !
Could you please do a video like this for the Five seveN ?
So, this is something I should bug my representatives about
the safety selector is right under the trigger, can't miss it really.
hope this helps.
No idea mate, my guess is it's designed to fit in a rack so NCO's can just quickly get it in emergencies
I can never seem to find the fire-selector/safety on this weapon.
THAT GUN ROCKS!!! im trying to get 1 of those
It's a PDW firing supersonic rounds, comparable to a rifle cartridge. SMGs fire subsonic pistol ammo so no supersonic crack.
Because the civvie version (PS90) needs to comply to US legal restriction on minimum barrel length (16 inches).
P-90 is the best gun ever! I have the airsoft and I want a real one someday. It's amazing in the anime, Gunslinger Girl. ^_^
my favorite submachine gun...these things are so verisitile
Come to think of it, I've heard that after an assault weapons ban got lifted in 04 some civilians already have P90s. Maybe you could get one..
Are there mag chargers for their magazines/clips? Sucks having to load 50 rounds by hand.
Tiger shark, heart attack,Benzene, falling over the side of
the Grand Canyon. How good are you with any of those?
I love it. My fave gun.
I want one of those, he he, but...is it leagl to own, and how much does it cost?
aw man i love this gun its my favorate
is that the only gun with that special ammo reloading system in the world?
most if not all bullets designed for military use tumble, it compensates for the fact that they arn't allowed to use fragmenting or deforming rounds, so tumbling does the damage. penetration is a separate issue, the claims that they can penetrate armour with ease, are with using the military grade armour piercing 5.7mm rounds, which civilians will not be able to get their hands on.
i just love this gun
thank you ^^ your awsome

i love this weapon because of its cool look
that is sick!!!
MP5 is about a pound heavier than the P90 with full mags. Do you own a P90 Goff86?
It's performance is not quite like a rifle round but it's MUCH MUCH better than a pistol round like the 9mm or .45 at ranges 100-200 yards.
is there a place where I can go and choose any weapon I wanna use and shoot at cardboards without buying the weapon but pay a small fee for trying it instead ?

I love this gun!!! :) :)
is this weapon avaialable for civilians to purchase? Secondly in Penssylvania?
man that gun is hot
You see them a lot in Counterstrike and Call of Duty 4.
yea but there are two types of mp5s one with a vertical grip in the front and the one without
I know the P90 is Belgian, made by FN Herstal. He's talking about the AK-47/AKM, which was Soviet in design.
it probably has the same kinetic energy as the 5.56 mm round for the M4A1
I'm gonna buy one of those some day
Tank/Artillery crews etc. right?
Switzerland
But the weapon-law is great in my country: You can get a 0.5 inch pistol in less tha 4 weeks. And you can buy your army weapon (a great rifle and a quite good SIG pistol) for less than 100 Dollars. But only if you was part of the army
that´s a weapon ive allways whanted to try out :S
if it's a fully ambidextrous carbine than why doesn't Robinson Arms sue FN like they did Magpul, Bushmaster, and Remington?
Favorite gun in Far Cry.
this gun isn`t legal in my Country :( what a pitty... but... if i am serious: for whitch reason you nead a full automatic rifle?
:D
pencil25, I never said they were an HK, They're an FN product, I was saying HK's stuff is usually cheaper than FN's.
have always wanted to try a p90 (and a winchester rifle) out :S
were you from boojakascha if I may ask?
I like the SBP90 from Timesplitters 2.
i love this gun,its awesome in cod4, where can i buy one?
great question
Have you ever fired any of those weapons?
Is this the same gun as in the Goldeneye game?
I got to handle one of these at a gun show and let me tell you. As ergonomic as it looks it didn't agree with me at all. Very good design otherwise although I still prefer the calico.
yeah....sounds like it to me too....modern warfare rules tho.....ever shot ANY of those? I have.....
i love this Gun.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They'll stick to MP5's like our SAS for a long while methinks
WOW! If I find one in Call of Duty 4 I'm gonna use it!!
Beautiful weapon... It puts 900 baby´s per min.. and can have 50 bullets.. It´s smole and compact.. But it´s a toy in long distance..
ya know when the squirrel you missed in the front lawn yesterday with the short barreled m16. Just swap the upper out with a longer one and get mr. squirrely when he's up the tree 150 yards away :)
what dont all you people do the same thing in the morning?
its a submachine gun manufactured by Fabrique Nationale de Herstal, however Sturm, Ruger & Company have made a pistol called the p90-no way are they similar...
hell yeah!! I don't suppose anyone has one? I priced one in wilkes barre PA at $1600 brand new. I'd like to find one used. Gotta get my hands on one!
a great gun to use in cod 4
