  • This video shows our 25 mile ride on Aventon E-bikes in Cades Cove, a beautiful section of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We camped in the Cove the night before and started at daylight in order to view the morning fog and increase our chances of viewing Wildlife in the park. Every Wednesday during Summer, the Cove is closed to vehicle traffic, only allowing bicycles and hikers along the 11 mile loop. Since the area sees millions of visitors annually, this is definitely the right time to visit this fine area and enjoy a great bike ride and see tons of interesting and historical structures along the route.

Thanks for making this video. I see now that bicycling is the best way to see Cades Cove.

I’m thinking that Bear wasn’t charging, just wanting to cross the road. Lol

It did want to cross the road after she saw the cubs not following. But she charged the crowd at full speed first. Bluff charge.

It's so much nicer when there are no cars. Great video. We need to know what the settings you use on your gopto are. How did the Adventon do compared to the himiways Yall had? Thanks for sharing.

Most of the video was shot on GoPro Hero 9 set at 2.7K/60 FPS with horizon leveling. Stability boost was on. I would shoot at 4K/30 frames but leveling isn’t available at that high res on Hero 9. I think it is on newer models. I also included video and stills from our iPhone 14 Pro Max phones in high resolution. There are even more photos included from my Nikon DSLR camera, most of them shot freehand while riding. I used 2 lenses, a 18-200 mm zoom and a 105mm f2.8 prime lens.

The Aventon bikes are great. But I can’t complain about our Himiways either. We only swapped because of the lower step through height. We are getting old I guess.

"E bikes" are motorized vehicles..... They are NOT ALLOWED.

Sorry but you are mistaken. You can even rent e-bikes from the Park service right there in Cades Cove. We did not rent though. Park volunteers are often seen using them there as well. Class 2 e-bikes like ours, with 750 watt motors, are not considered to be motorized vehicles in the US.

Signs are clear "motorized vehicles prohibited".
Y'all can't have it both ways ..... Either the area is open to.the public (all the public) or its not!

@@mike-vq7mc correct, no motorized vehicles are allowed there then or on any bike trails. Class 2 e-bikes are not considered motorized vehicles by US law. That was my point. Have a great day.
