December 2019 - I came upon this series quite by accident. I am American born, have no connection with Korea - except that I am in love with the culture, and have Korean colleagues at my former University (I am 71). This delightful series has compelling characters, and really touched my heart. The leading actors are all excellent. We get to see this girl as she comes of age, and the things she endures, and her triumph. The 'house mother' is also a fine actress. And the intrigues and plots all kept my attention. I watched it until the very end. How great to find it on You Tube again!!!
You need to watch "dae jang geum" as some one who loves korean dramas and stuff. That drama is the best korean drama ever been created, i watched that maybe 7 or 8 times .

The very first time I laid my eyes on the beautiful face of Jang Geun Suk and the very first time I had a girl crush because of Ha Ji Won. I remembered watching this, their chemistry was everything that I cried so hard (literally) because of what happened to them.
I don't lie, this drama make me want to learn korea traditional dance. Start from this one, i become a leaner of korea but still can't reach to korea. But i am an adult now, i am working and saving money for the one day i will be korea.
This drama was my fav drama that I watched during my childhood days . And here I am again because today, I saw my friend posted abt first time watching this drama in facebook and suddenly I mesmerized those times that I enjoyed watching this drama during my childhood and yesss so , I am now here to rewatch again in 2021
