As a recovered alcoholic and alanon of 29 years I would say boundaries are good and supporting someone who is willing to get sober is ok too. I know the love is there. I will be praying for his recovery and for your strength. He is a sweet man and you are beautiful inside and out. I know he loves you, but he needs to love himself too.

Didn’t watch this live, but I always watch when I can. It’s ok to be strong, but it’s ok to feel sad. Give yourself time to get over it. Sometimes when we find ourselves attracted to a great person one has a tendency to look past the red flags. You’ll take what you learned in this relationship and be better equipped to find the right person for you next time. Not going to bash Brian, but a text message. What a coward! That’s all I say. Do you think he love bombed you? That happened to me a yr ago. Becareful. He may try and come back and repeat the process. He always talked about all his exe’s. That made me feel he might be a narcissist. If he is this is not the last you will from him.
He can turn it off so easily bc he is superficial person...it isnt meant to last, thats why he has been married so many times, had a girlfriend when he started pursuing you. He used you to dump the last one and will continue this behavior going forward....he will never admit it so dont expect him to. I'm so sorry Debbie. I think breaking up by text is cowardly. I did feel there might be an issue when you shared about his drinking. As a professional in MH field it's hard to ignore the signs when you see them. This is your learning moment and put it in prospective. You are a good person and you will find the one for you. I have two younger friends who are the best but the right guys can't seem to find them.

I've been sober for almost 11 years. Every relationship I've had in sobriety HAS to be a sober one, when I see the person change their mood and behavior right in front of me because of alcohol it's time to leave. Chin up and keep moving forward

I did notice that he was very wild with his bets When you weren't right there, he would mention you didnt like seeing him bet so high and how he would raise his bet even higher. He's addicted to more than alcohol. Every one is right, God is with you and he will bring someone in your life that is good for you. I'm going to say what others may not say. You want us to be nice to him and not bash him. This man broke up with you over text after avoiding you for days. You want us to think it was mutual but, mutual would have been a conversation the next day. You had even said he will probably never talk to me again. Girl, that's disgusting! He should have done so much better even if he thinks it is best to end the relationship. We have personally watched him get let's just say a little too much...
