My dad is one of the techs that spent countless hours helping to fix and prepare the games, and we got a sneak peak after hours and I couldn’t be more impressed. They did a great job and I hope it continues to do well!
Well, your dad is doing an awesome job!
I'd love to come over and help. I live 20 min away.
That is so cool, respect to your father. These machines are like a work of art, a mix between mechanical, electronic and audio/visual.
After hours? There are a lot of those... closed 3 days of the week and only open for a total of 32 hours a week. Not a good indicator for future success.
Past Times Arcade is amazing. I wish I was closer, but frequently travel an hour away just to see this amazing arcade.
Best arcade I've ever been to. I traveled 500 miles to be there opening day.
Mind blowing! A magnum opus after a lifetime of collecting.
Oh man I got teary eyed because I used to play Kick Man all the time in our local gas station when I was a pup. Great video Ralph, wish there was an arcade like that in So Cal. Keep up the great work
Thanks for watching man, I really appreciate it. I swear this place made me kinda teary eyed seeing so many games being treated in a way that I’ve never seen before at this scale. At least not outside of galloping ghost. Thanks so much again for watching! I really appreciate it!
@@RetroRalph - you obviously haven't been to Pinball PA...
Its mind boggling just how massive this collection is, and the fact its all the culmination of one man's lifelong passion. The Landing High Japan game is one I've never heard of before till now. One really cool gem I noticed in the background was Sonic Championship, Sega's classic sonic the hedgehog fighting game.
This was incredibly well produced. Holy shit! Mad props! Thank you!! ❤
Thanks bud, We're always trying to push the production limits as much as we can. We're a small crew of literally two people most of the time. Thankfully we got to add Arcade Hollywood in the mix, we all worked so great together. Although him and I get a little sidetracked due to our excitment levels... haha. Thank you again, that's an awesome comolement and Myself, Mason and Arcade Hollywood really apprecaite it!
Rob Berk is a true treasure.
Thank you Rob Berk for having such a wonderful place for all to enjoy and love.
As a huge fan of arcade and pinball machines. This is definitely a must visit alongside the Galloping Ghost arcade in Chicago, Illinois, and the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas Nevada (which I did visit 3 years ago). 👾🕹
This is heaven on earth for retro-gamers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Absolutely incredible, how much fun was making this video, dang….. if I lived anywhere near there I would have the Annual membership.
Road trip from GA. Wow😮 can't wait to see this in real.
what a cool place! great idea with the QR code thing to instantly report an issue with a game, I'd imagine it expedites repairs at least a little bit?! always cool to see a new arcade open up letting folks relive their past or discover a new game they'd never played before!
So far it’s working well for them. I got a chance to see it live in action. The team is on it over there, pretty cool!
I thought just the opposite, I'm tired of everything requiring use of an app or qr code. personally I'm using less and less of that stuff these days
I'm so glad I landed on this video. I wasn't born in the era of arcades and I'm from India, so I only know about the popular arcade games. When I was a kid I played Daytona, House of the Dead and Tekken 3 on my local arcade in Varanasi. I was always fascinated with arcade machines and this video brings me a lot of joy. I hope to build my own 8-bit bar top arcade in the future.
WOW! That is just incredible! I love Pinball.
Oh neat, I actually just went here last weekend! (2 days before this video posted) I love the banners on the walls that gives the history of some of the games
THEY HAVE MAPPY!! That’s my favorite game!
Wow, what a great place! Nice video!👍
Absolutely stunning this, greetings from Wales 🏴🏴
Just checked it out yesterday, was a blast!
We only live a few hours away. Definitely going to make an effort to get there. What an amazing place. Thanks for showing us this!
Great video! I could have listened to you guys talk about your favorites all day. I'm heading there in August, I can't wait!
So many to choose from.
This is nostalgia Valhalla. Like stepping into a Time Machine and the owner is hero
Great video! This place looks amazing. I need to visit this place, so many amazing arcades in the midwest.
Yeah this place has your name on it for sure! Thanks so much for checking out the video man!
Might need to make a road trip with friends. always enjoy Rob Berk collection at Pinball Expo Chicago.
I live only 15 minutes from here but have yet to go. I guess I'm building up the anticipation in myself! Lol😆 Hopefully real soon...👍❤️💯
Looks like heaven on earth!
Stellar video work and coverage! We already know the collection is amazing and one of the very best ever for Ohio. I will be making multiple visits yearly.
Hell yeah! Take my money!
Absolutely stunning. What a great watch.
Very nice...if you on west coast you can get similar experience at the Pinball Hall of Fame in Las Vegas....😊
Space Encounters was one of the first video games I played. Space Invaders, Asteroids, Night Driver and Beserk were the others.
When I think of an arcade, this is what I want to see! It’s a shame that modern arcades are nothing but claw machines and gotcha games.
Rob Berk - that is a name I haven't heard in decades! Wow, what a magical place. I would love to come visit!
I am from Philly. I adore pinball. Hopefully in the future, I can check this place out. It looks sick!!!! I do not like Ohio St. I am a PSU fan. Go lions!!!!! I adore playing pinball.
Very cool that other Arcades open with big collections, but the biggest Arcade in the world is Galloping Ghost Arcade in Brookfield Illinois. Owner Doc Mack is awesome!
Galloping Ghost is all arcade games, no pinball.
@@rizzlerazzleuno4733 I try putting the webpage here so you can check that they do. They even have Predator 1 of 1
@@rizzlerazzleuno4733 Galloping Ghost has 986 Arcade machines and 44 Pinball machines, all running.
Unreal; jealous of the people that are a quick drive away from this place. And great game picks!
They are closed monday tuesday wednesday and the days they are open their opening and closing time is all over the place. Not a good indicator for long term success.
This is only 45 minutes from me and I had no idea it opened up. This is so awesome. The only other arcade close to me was a total dump, most of the games are broke and they just leave leave them broke.
Really been enjoying all this coverage of Past Times has been great! 💯🔥👍
That is nuts!!! Wow!!! Worth every penny.
100%
MAGIC GIRL PINBALL? That's crazy. I'm definitely making a trip there.
That is awesome ❤
How have I never heard of this place. I'm going as soon as I can!
Oh wow 😮
It brings so many good memories of when I was young playing arcade games, would love to visit this place someday,
This looks amazing. I'm planning on making a trek there this summer. Can't wait!
Can’t wait to go!!!!
You gotta man, you'll love it!
Kick Man was at the bowling alley my grandmother was general manager of. I nearly forgot about it until you showed it on your video. Nostalgia.
It’s so basic but so fun! I can’t believe I’ve never played it. I think I just scrolled by it in mame. That’s cool that you used to play it at the bowling alley!
I can't believe it- only 45 minutes away from me!
I just found out about it and going this week .
Looking forward to make the trip out here. It's nice to see something like this open year round. I'd be really excited to see some pinball tournaments run here.
Pretty cool with the backup collection, so if any game has a long downtime, it can get replaced. But as far as Pinball, the Ann Arbor Vintage Flipper World Pinball Museum has a little over 500 pinball on display. The only downside is that they are open 1-2 times a year, so not something as readily accessible as this.
Just spent the day here on Sunday. The place is great! We were here for 5 hours and had a blast!
Just got back from playing there for 5 hours today! What a wonderful place to visit and makes me want to go back next weekend. Ralph, you captured this place perfectly and I really enjoyed your top 5 segment. A+
Probably because they were only open for 5 hours. Closing 3 days a week and only being open 32 hours the rest of the week isn't a great recipe for success in the service market.
@@thomgizziz- they don't care. This is just a place for Rob to store his collection and own the plaza to collect rent!
Amazing!!!!
This collection is beyond words. Absolutely above anything I've seen previously.
As an owner of four pinball and two arcade video game machines, I cannot imagine how he keeps everything running.
The QR Codes are huge for our success. With over 600 games, we rely heavily on the public to scan the codes and report the issues as they are found. These get reported to a Google Sheet to which all of our techs have access. Our techs are there Monday-Friday 7-3 when the public is not there to tackle as many issues as possible. We have a great team and they are managing very well. We have a floor manager that addresses all minor issues immediately when we are open such as stuck balls, broken rubbers, etc. Without the QR Code system we would have a very difficult time keeping up. The public has been awesome. As G.I. Joe says "Knowing is half the battle." The other half is hiring very talented and passionate techs.
You had a hard time keeping 4 pinballs and 2 video games functioning? Seriously?
Another great video, thanks for sharing you experience ❤
I’m geeking out watching this. So amazing.
Was pumped Arcade Hollywood picked Elvis. I definitely would of picked that one as well 👍
Dude, what's up! I'm so gald you got a chance to watch this. You need to see if you can make it here soon.
@@RetroRalph I’ll definitely check it out at some point. Only a few hours away!
I played Stern's Elvis alot! Such an amazing pinball machine.
At the 11:54 mark I saw my all time favourite game “Robocop!” Thanks for sharing Ralph Epic video!
✌🏼😎👍🏼
Really enjoyed your production value on this one. Definitely need to make a trip there one day!
I will visit that place one day. Wow!!!
Wonderful. 👍👍
Awesome, pinball heaven.
Im going here Saturday!
The first game im playing is the Fix It Felix Jr Machine because Wreck It Ralph is my favorite movie of all time!
I live 5 minutes from that place... May just see you there mister retro Ralph keep up the good content
My group and I are planning on visiting this place for our Columbus day weekend trip. Just the spread of imported pins would make it worth going. I don't know how where going to get through this place in just one weekend but I'm anxious to give it a shot. ^_^
Good luck. I'm sure you will have to return.
Impressive.
Brilliant review❤
wow - i really hope it does well, it looks an amazing collection and location. Fingers crossed to an excellent future!
wOw....now that's some collection lol ... Lov it
wow just wow !! btw. there is a video here on YT about the sampling and recording of the voice for the Xenon pinnball it was wery interesting, to se (Xenon are also one of my many favorittes) i have playede pinball since ca. 1972, great video best regards from Denmark. /Michael
I'd literally be in heaven in that place. Being 50, I was thinking that maybe I was getting too old for video games, but then I saw this elderly lady named Shirley something who is 80 and has her own RUclips channel where she plays Skyrim and now this old man. Guess I will be dying with a game controller in my hands.
That's my.childhood, (1950's)teenage yrs, (60's) young adult hood(1970'') end young adult hood (1980's), middle age(1990's)!! (2000's) old & older hood -(2023)!! Woooooow my.whole life in pinball & 30 yr old video game madness!🤔🤔🎲 !! Don't turn off the power high scores gone!🎲🎲🎲🎤! Thanks Ralph! 72 now Ohio no far from.Jersey! On my recent bucket list! Play onnnnn!!🎲🎲🎲🎤
I hope you get a chance to check it out! It’s easy to fall in love with this place!
Xenon changed the future of pinball. Forever!
I am floored. If I have my numbers right, this place is instantly the 2nd largest arcade in the world behind Galloping Ghost. I've spent a couple of long weekend vacations at Funspot, but am definitely planning to do the same in October now for Past Times. If I can do a 5-hour drive from NYC to NH, I can do 6-7 to OH. lol
I traveled 500 miles to be there opening day, and went back again. Check the hours though because some days they close early
Fantastic video brother! Insane collection too!!
Glad you enjoyed it, I really apprecaite you watching!
come to Portland ,and i will take you to next level pinball museum, it is good to see places like this popping up
I will have to check it out. I’ve heard of it but never been.
wow thats awesome👍
What an amazing place!.. I'm pretty sure I saw the only working Magic Girl in the world on the floor!
And it's the only one with completed code to boot! The game is beautiful looking, I need to spend more time playing it though. I think I need to come back when not filming to really enjoy everything.
@RetroRalph Yeah I got to play a couple of quick games at Pinball Expo..would love to get some real quality time on the game.. looks like I need to make a weekend trip!
Making a 981 mile trip there in July from Florida. First pin i'm playing will be Quicksilver by Stern.
Impressive, most Impressive.
Awesome video!!!!!
I am so jealous of you right now... lol
I miss arcades with games
well i’m just gonna say this another banger video can’t say iv seen a bigger collection than this and this sounds like a place i need to put on list to go to
You need to go if you ever get the chance, you would love it there Joey!
I love it! love from the philippines
Awesome collection and video! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching brother!
@@RetroRalph Yessir!
This would be retro gaming heaven for me!
This man doesn't have to worry about ever leaving home for entertainment! Infact I don't think to many places you can visit that are better than what he has at home!
Agreed, his game room is prettty freaking EPIC!
There are electronic pinball machines that can have hundreds of game and mame arcades that can have almost every arcade game ever made on it along with most console games... those two things would cover way more and you'd still get bored.
the trust these people have to put artifacts out there for the public to use. it would terrify me, but what an awesome place for the community
OMG I wish we had something like this near me in California. 😊
Oh man!
WHOA I SAW A MAGIC GIRL PINBALL!
Jilly's Arcade on the Ocean City Boardwalk in New Jersey had a Landing High Japan, the landing flight simulator, like 8-10 years ago when I was there. I couldn't stop playing it. Never seen anything like it and it was so realistic. It was gone when I came back the following year and haven't seen one since. Now I know where to find one. Thanks! :)
That's sooooo cool
That's awesome
This is better then heaven !
The arcades places in NYC were my second home. I got so good at them that I drew a crowd whenever I played. Made me feel like a celebrity. This place makes me feel like moving to Ohio just so I can be in there everyday like I used to in the 80s. Awesome collection. Surprised he has techs to keep these machines running. That was always the main problem back then.
the editing is on point! this place is insane!!! I want to go to there!
Thanks for watching brother, you for sure have to check it out!
Great episode guys! William's Space Shuttle is also one of my all-time pins.
Thanks bud, really appreciate you watching!
Space Shuttle is one of the greats!
Quite the collection! Next Level arcade/museum near Portland, OR is bigger though.
wow did not expect to see a game like Darkula in the first 10 seconds
