I got a cigar box like that and you just gave me an idea.
That CBG sounds great and awesome looking! 🤘🏼
I love that you have that flag on your guitar I lived in the south and never once did. I look at that and think racism. It was just southern pride nothing more nothing less. Thank you for breaking that mold.
Yes, thank you for your comment.
Indeed, the black blues artist Tom SIMON, adopted child in France (Ahmed Idris Hussein = his birth name) who ordered this guitar wanted this flag to denounce racism! Not everyone understands this ! Unfortunately, he died in 2022 at the age of 27!
His album “Help myself” is a masterpiece.
You can find it on RUclips, I invite you to listen to it.

His mother gave me this cigar box guitar I'd made for him.
As a Frenchman, I'm a bit embarrassed to play this guitar because some people might think I'm racist, which I'm really not!
Mitch
@@mitchcigarboxguitar6447 if you have the opportunity to make beautiful music, come out of that instrument do it the symbol on it has nothing to do with racism, and I hate that it has been adopted as such those of us who know no it’s nothing but southern pride you’re allowed to be proud of what and who you are and where you’re from racism is a hateful state of mind and I wish would just go away but along with it I would like to see stupidity and miss information. Go with it. I will definitely check out his video. Thank you very much you have a great day.
@@mitchcigarboxguitar6447 well with that "flag" there is really nothing you can associate it with other than racism but if you are trying to change that you have a hard mountain to climb, I don't think that mountain has a peak.
@rath_films A friend's mother gave him the guitar. What is he supposed to do, paint over it because somebody might be offended by the modern misconception that the confederate battle flag is a racist symbol? That flag was a symbol adopted by people who were and still are proud to be from the southern USA. It's not about hating anybody.
I'm gonna like his videa because I like his song, I like his guitar, and his playing gives me ideas. I have a cigar box guitar. I think I'll get my artistic wife to paint a rebel flag on it and make a video.
J'aime beaucoup, avec ce coté hypnotique de la basse!!
Great inspiration, I'm going to pick up my CBG now and try this! Thanks for the video.
Elle est vraiment belle cette cigarbox !!
Very Well Done!!!
sounded great....thanks sir.
Thanks for listening :)
Clutch vibes
Nice. Starts off like Hard Time Killin' Floor Blues
Song by Skip James
Black folks who are into states rights… gotta love that
I love that cbg! Long live Dixie! Sweet home Alabama!
I should point out that the CBG owner's choice of decoration was provocative. As a black bluesman, he wanted to display the flag as a protest against segregation and racism.
Awesome! I just finished my first fretless. I see now that I have to lower my string height so I can also play without the slide. Thanks
Thank you. Yes, lower strings make this style of playing easier and allow a better accuracy of the guitar.
Nice build and playing!
Awesome looking CBG and great playing 👍
Thank you. This Cigar Box Guitar was made to order for Tom Simon, a young black artist, bluesman of great talent. He wanted this decoration with the confederate flag to denounce slavery and racism.
this link to hear Tom Simon from the Honey Badger band.

nice jam man ... !
You all really need to read up on your history. The flag is a symbol of heritage, not hate. If we allow our narrow points of view to only see a symbol of racism and hate, then we really haven't come that far, have we? The Confederate States were it's own nation before the war. Many state flags still resemble the Confederate battle flag. It has only been in recent years through groups like the Neo-Nazis that the flag has been misconstrued. The Civil War was about slavery, not the flag. If you go that far, then how about the racist ties to the California state flag? The bear and star are racist symbols as well. Also, don't forget that Robert E. Lee was asked first to lead the Union soldiers by Abraham Lincoln. Lee's father played an important role in our freedom from Britain. I emplore you to learn your history and not regurgitate it from the mouths of others. Educate not regurgitate.
Sorry but 'open G' means nothing to a noobie like me. Is that GDG?
Yes, that's right: GDG
👍
The Confederate Battle flag scheme is too cool.
And racist
pls inform original thicknes of 3 strings thank you
super light acoustic string
What size strings are on that? Thanks. Awesome!
Thanks Carl. It’s acoustic Guitar strings, extra light. String A D and G. The strings are tuned in open G (G D G). Acoustic Guitar Strings sound great with a microphone! And it sounds louder without an amp than electric guitar strings. However, I also use electric guitar strings on some Cigar Box Guitars especially when I want to do solos. For example, Watch on my channel the solo « sympathy for the devil »
I can’t appreciate a guitar that bears a rebel slaver’s rag.
I can understand your feeling. I made this Cigar Box Guitar to order for Tom Simon (his adopted name and real birth name is Ahmed Idris Hussein), a young black artist, bluesman of great talent. He wanted this decoration with the confederate flag to denounce slavery and racism. He died last year at the age of 27 !
He released a really great album before he died, which is on RUclips.

WTF? No slide?
Yes, I play without bottleneck, just sliding my fingers on the fretless neck, and it gives this sound 🎶🎵
Not exactly the most popular flag dont you think?👎
Yes, you're right. I made this Cigar Box Guitar to order for Tom Simon, a young black artist, bluesman of great talent. He wanted this decoration with the confederate flag to denounce slavery and racism.

@@mitchcigarboxguitar6447 Ok?
Long live Dixie!
@@mitchcigarboxguitar6447 thanks, that clears it up.
Some people are offended by history, and want to erase it. Some prefer to remember history, for better or for worse, so hopefully it is not repeated.
While I personally wouldn't put a confederate flag on my CBG, I wouldn't insist that someone with such a design was racist. To reduce people to a cultural cliché like that is the same kind of narrow-minded attitude that real racist people are guilty of.
That said...yeah, probably not the most popular option lol
The cb needs a paint job
I understand your reaction. The CBG owner's choice of decoration was provocative. As a black bluesman, he wanted to display the flag as a protest against segregation and racism.
Sorry for being political, but how can this guy even bear to play an instrument decorated like this?
Because he's not a pussy
With his fingers
