Man, so much value in this video. Following you from South America. Please do a video about your experience hiring an editor. What errors did we make (us, who were not chosen), so we can improve our editing craft.
Great video! I am doing stock photography and videography full-time, and I love it. But yeah, a lot of people think that is very easy to do and that they will make money fast. Bit it takes a lot of time. But yeah, if you have awesome footage, it is much better to have it on stock sites than on your hard drives :)
Hell yea. Blackbox is so fantastic. Been on it for years working with so many different people editing and coloring for them. Also upload my own stuff as well. Already get a decent amount sold monthly and it'll just keep coming! All of these are definitely recommended!
@@TheFunnyCamGuy blackbox is a collaborative site. So if you don't like doing metadata. Or editing or whatever and you JUST like filming you can find other people to do those things and they get a percentage of sales. So for me I don't like doing metadata so anything I upload I'll send off to others. But I also like editing and color grading so I have a bunch of people sending footage to me to edit/color and upload and I get a percentage of it.
CR, always bringing the value. Multiple streams of revenue. Great ideas, and an awesome presentation of those ideas. Thanks, man. Smashed that like button.
I'm going to say bro, I'm from VA and have been watching your videos from the beginning and I will say this your best aka most informational video ever.. appreciate your work. Might need you in Vegas or La to shoot my next project.
Great advice, thanks for sharing. With selling courses, I’d rather use my filmmaking knowledge to find someone who’s good at something and film their course for them. They might know something very well, but if their production value is crap, it’s going to come across as amateur. Stuff that looks and sounds good comes across as true, valuable and professional.
I started my business geared around using prints to fund travel for photography. But it doesn't do well. I live in a small town and everyone likes and favorites and compliments my work but i rarely get sales. Printify could use more options for photographers though. I run my prints on etsy. Started it in 2021.
Thanks for sharing these valuable ideas! Just a side note, depending where you live, e.g. I live in Germany, you may have severe tax disadvanteges, if you rent your grear and it starts to generate a significant part of your revenue. At some point, you will be disqualified as full-time-artist and lose your advantages, e.g. healthcare, there. I am sure, there is similar regulation in other parts of the world. Also in terms of compliance it could be, depending on your location, quite compicated. Think about someone getting a discharge from a malfunctioning light or sth. They may knock at your door for injury compensation. Just be careful folks 💕
Yo. If you made a video about how to clean sneakers…I’d watch it. Especially if they play a key role in wardrobe for a music video. Something that adds to the style of the artist. All that being said, thanks so much for making this vid. I might give skillshare a try.
For stock footage, can you use the same footage for different websites or it has to be different footage? I've been loving the content for years, keep grinding✊🏿
Only allowed to upload to one stock agency. But with Blackbox global you upload through them and they distribute your footage to the main agencies. I've been with them for just over four years and that works for me. Also their share is only 15% unlike Pond5 for example 50%.
You can, just be aware. blackbox is an All in 1 submitter. so then you dont need to sign up to adobe stock etc. but if you wanting to do it manual per stock site, you can do that if your not exclusive. goodluck with your adventure on stock footage
Thanks for another great video, I have been wanting to do this for a long time and might just start. A couple of questions, which you never really answer questions but here it goes. What is the #1 you recommend and how long should the video be and should it be color graded already? I will most likely try BlackBox but I am a US citizen but live in South America, how do they deposit your money you make? PayPal or something easy? Thanks in advance if you ever answer questions.
Excellent video! I moved from the states to Johannesburg South Africa as a video content creator and I wonder how can I rent out my gear here cause everything is only listed in America
Was up big dog.....love you content and everything you do ....in film school right now in California just trying to get on love everything about film 🎥 how can I get in with big homie you were working with...
Great video but isn't that about to kill art? I mean shouldn't the number one motivation of art be the enjoyment of doing it instead of chasing alternative incomes?
@YCImaging How can you get editing work when the things you have shot / edited personally or the projects you have worked on are of poor quality or cannot be shared?
These are good tips… I have a question… it seems intimidating to get back into the grind of RUclips, but what would be your first step to start that process after being away from the game? Appreciate it YC🙏🏼
Little comment with the stock footage, if you are in it you might find yourself on some weird content, so just be prepared for that. Aswell if you get an actors face on there, just know that can happen.
Any side hustles you plan on trying this year?
