- We continue on our journey into Luzon region making our way towards southern Laguna and up into the mountains. We decided it would be best to put new all terrain tires on this Nissan Navara 4x4 for better traction. The places we need to go to get to this rare creature we are trying to rescue and give a new home will definitely be challenging.
We went to numerous tires shops starting down in Batangas City then on up into Lipa City. We found this tire shop and was impressed. Great service, good inventory reasonable price. It was a win. Thanks Guda Tire Center formerly Cometz 2 Trading
We are a Fil Am couple sharing our lives between living in Texas USA and Panay Island Philippines. You can kinda tell when a Shop is Good. They are also clean and organized as well.
There are many tire shops near me.. The best one I found.. Was a briggstone dealer... I've been very happy with that products...

Its money well spent, those others had seen better days ! I stayed at Taal Vista Lodge back in the 80's, it was right beside Taal Lake. Our room faced the volcano, which was constantly simmering ! There were 2 eruptions since then, last one was earlier this year. Found Taal Vista Hotel online, I'll never forget that view from my room, . . .

My Filipina wife disagrees she says life is hard and dirty there but I've spoiled her and the kids real good(they deserve it). She was a Mt. Pinatubo evacuee and lived a pretty rough little life. But I always tell her that I want to live there with our income from here in the USA 🇺🇸. One day in gonna build her a big beautiful house there like James did so she can enjoy her family and the PI in style.

Those tires look great on your truck! The old ones are on their last legs for sure...I'm always watching the condition of my tires, if they blow when you're going fast, could be a disaster! Funny how customer service never grows old/is king...I've taken my business elsewhere too if I experience what you did in the other shops...Thanks for the tip ref. the hotel too...Off my list of places to stay now! 😆

*Secure your things sir especially traversing batangas, cavite and metro manila. There are these street dwellers who steal anything, even the iron rod from big trucks. Anything that's beneficial for them.*

The Roads are so bad even on the Expressways that sidewall cuts are a big problem.
Guidance tires is about 40 kilometers from my place. Yall still have a few hours to travel.

Great content . To check if tire is expired-It's typically a 10- or 11-character DOT (Department of Transportation) code, near the DOT stamp, embossed on the sidewall of the tire. Check the last four digits. The last two refer to the year the tire was manufactured, the first two (of the four) represent the week number.

I live in Lipa City and this is the same tire shop that helped me replace 2 tires that blew out from a road hazard. That was pre Covid. Now it is time to get a complete set of 4 and I will be going back there. They way they treated you was the same way they treated me before. Definitely a place for repeat customers. A-1 SERVICE.

Who would of thought that riding on a Ro-ro was so hard on tires. If your tire is not the exact same size as the stock tires do you have to get your vehicle inspected again at that motor vehicle inspection station you were at last month? Actually you would be surprised how much I drive. I have done stacked some miles on that lil truck. Look I have done worn the tires out if that tell ya something.
Nothing like a new set of rubber and man those look good! Wyndham is no good anymore, they'll put their name on anything, our last resort railroad hotels were bought by them. The tires I bought were same size 265s in 18s and I have gotten about 40k on them already. Biggest problem is alot of tire shops do not offer balancing even though they have the equipment. I was really amazed how well just getting rid of those stock tires reduced tire spin on muddy roads. That place is in LIpa? I like that they have some 10plys Hope they are not to loud on the express way
Dave yes there are in Lipa. Those tires are not loud on the road at all. I am really loving them. Also oddly enough my truck can make a sharper turn now. I think the small highway thread tires was slipping in the front when I u turned tight. I think it is what was wearing them. These grip and the truck turns right on around. It is a unexpected benefit. Yes 10 ply too which is a bonus. The truck drives so much better and rides better now as well. Give that shop a try for your tire needs. I was very impressed with their service.

Wow, you had better be careful driving on tires that you had on your car. You said they were going bad. I would say they were shot by any standard. Be careful with tires like that especially carrying a load. Very dangerous! 🙏
