The primer isn't what makes the L'OREAL a tubing mascara. I've used it for years as a single step (mascara only), with no smudging, and easy removal. It has been a consistent dependable mascara, highly recommend!
Such an interesting review! I’ve used the beauty tubes for years, and the black side does seem to tube for me! The primer makes my eyes itchy, so I layer the black side over top of any regular communizing mascara and it becomes smudge proof!
I've been using the L'Oreal Double Extend mascara for years because tubing formulas are the only ones that never smudge on me. I'm hoping they have a boom in the next year so that we have more options at all price points! I just bought the CaliRay mascara from Sephora, fingers crossed it's good.
My Favorites: Kevyn Acoin The Volume mascara (luxury) and Boots No7 Stay Perfect mascara (drugstore). The Kevyn Acoin is my holy grail, but it is no longer carried at Sephora (as far as I’m aware), so it’s no longer as easy to find, and it costs more. No7 is a close second, a fraction of the price, and found at Target.
Been thinking about trying a tubing mascara, so thanks for doing this one. Would be interesting to see how the No7 one that someone mentioned below compares. Btw absolutely love your eyeshadow! Emma x
So I use the double extend just on my lower lashes, but I don’t use the primer and I still find it to be a tubing formula. I don’t have problems with smudging
Loreal tubing mascara is hard to find on the high street so bought on Amazon they've made tube smaller and increased price so not so inexpensive...sneaky
You say it takes 10-15 minutes of soaking to get it off. I hope you meant seconds! I've never used the one you reviewed but have - and LOVE - Blinc. How does this compare?
I only use waterproof mascara cause my eyes water so much. I haven't found anything, but will try this. Oh by the way love your eye makeup. What did you use??
The only tubing mascara's I've tried are the loreal one you mentioned and the thrive mascara. Personally I like the thrive one better, but it's over twice the price of the loreal one
I love the la girl mascara. It seperates well. You have to twirl the wand when running it through your lashes. It tubes for me. Maybe you got a dude bottle.
My daughter loves waterproof mascara specifically for the reason that it never comes off LOL. I think at this point she's layering up about 6 years worth of mascara.
They’re actually a bunch of multichrome shadows! Because I have windows in my left side, it makes those shadows look different, and like I’m wearing two totally different eye looks! 😆
Maybelline Snapscara (regular, not the waterproof one) is a good tubing mascara, too. Doesn't smudge or flake. I liked this L'Oreal tubing mascara too, but I never managed to fully cover that white primer, it was always visible at the roots. I have thin and fine lashes, so maybe that's why.
The LA girl mascara isn't a tubing formula at all! It comes off easily with warm water too... But it isn't a tubing formula. It's smudges off with warm.water. not in tubes.
Try the last Blast Primer by Covergirl You would probably prefer that wand better. I like the Loreal, because of the Fluffy brush. I have been using it for at least 15 yrs now. So far for me, and 50 + mascaras later, 😂nothing has beat the combo of Loreal Primer & Lorac Pro +Fiber.
NO, NO, NO, you do NOT have to use the primer with the L'Oreal Beauty Tubes Mascara. First, that would make no sense chemically, since tubing mascaras form tubes because of the polymers in the formula. The primer would likely have no influence on that process. Second, I have been using this mascara for a decade and NEVER use the primer, and I have NEVER had any problem with smudging. I suspect that on the day you wore the L'Oreal mascara on your bottom lashes without the primer something else was wonky with your makeup -- maybe your concealer contained oils and wasn't set or something? Or maybe -- and this seems more likely to me -- maybe it was your eyeliner that smudged.
I wasn’t wearing eyeliner when it smudged on me🤷♀️ There’s no reason why the primer wouldn’t include the tubing polymers since it’s the foundation for your mascara and would also need to tube. Maybe both formulas tube! And when it’s worn alone, it doesn’t tube on me - just like the others I tried in this video.
Agreed, I’ve used it without the primer for years with no issues! I wish I could buy a tube of just the mascara 😸 I’m trying to the Cali Ray, so far it’s not removing as cleanly as the L’Oreal which is a bummer, because that’s been sold out at all my local drugstores lately. Will have to check out the Essence soon!
@@CiriliaRose In case you want another opinion, I have tried the Essence mascara as well. (I moved to Europe where the L'Oreal Beauty Tubes are not available, but love the mascara so much that I have a kind relative in the US send me tubes of it periodically by mail. When Essence came out with the Bye Bye, Panda Eyes, I was hopeful that it would make my eyelash life easier.) Bailey is right that it doesn't really wash off in tubes -- more like bits and chunks, and some of those bits and chunks can cling rather stubbornly to your lashes. What is worse, however, is that the mascara tends to crumble during the day, especially after the tube has been open a few weeks, and, if you wear contacts, that is, well, no fun. (FYI: Essence's sister brand, Catrice, also came out with a tubing mascara at around the same time, and it has similar problems.)
Big No to Any CRUEL BRANDS..! ESSENCE MAKE VERY GOOD MASCARAS AND CRUELTY FREE! I WILL NEVER PAY FOR BRANDS WHO TESTING ON ANIMALS!!!! DON'T HAVE TO BE TUBING MASCARA ANY GOOD VOLUME OR LENGHT,DON'T MIND CLUMPY! LOL! ALL BRANDS SHOULD BE CRUELTY FREE NOW!

No7 makes one that I've enjoyed so far it's the "Stay Perfect Waterproof Long Wear Mascara in Tubular Black"
I was just about to comment the same thing. Quite enjoyable!
It’s been discontinued!
Love your lipstick in this video, Bailey….would you share the shade? Motherhood looks lovely on you🥰
Absolutely agree … L’Oreal double extend is the best non-smudging, long lasting, tubing mascara! Thx.
Such an interesting review! I’ve used the beauty tubes for years, and the black side does seem to tube for me! The primer makes my eyes itchy, so I layer the black side over top of any regular communizing mascara and it becomes smudge proof!

I love the Caliray - great brush, adds length and volume but doesn’t clump and just looks amazing
Same. I got the mini and I like it so far.
Double Extend is my absolute favorite mascara. It's a bit hard to find here, but it's great. So nice to see you again, Bailey!
My favorite too! I find it at target

Great comparisons! One note: you may want to add a correction somewhere, you said toward the beginning that it’s “10-15 minutes” to soak tubing off. 💕
How long is it actually?
@@missbeaussie should be 10-15 seconds. Tubing mascaras are very easy and quick to get off
So I use the double extend just on my lower lashes, but I don’t use the primer and I still find it to be a tubing formula. I don’t have problems with smudging
The #7 one is great. I repurchase it regularly.
I wonder if the Loreal primer here is the same as their full tube of the Voluminous Lash primer in the full size white tube?
Oh this is a great point! I’ll see if I can find ingredients lists!
I like maybelline snapscara. Using revlon now. Want to try No. 7. I appreciate no smudging with the tubing mascara. Wish there were more options!
Loreal tubing mascara is hard to find on the high street so bought on Amazon they've made tube smaller and increased price so not so inexpensive...sneaky
Any eyelash curler you recommend? I I’ve had bad luck with the Target ones I’ve purchased
Me too I used 1 and it took off some of my lashes now I’m scared to use 1
Try the L'oreal Unlimited mascara in the Blue tube with the bending wand - it is one step, tubing, and works great for me :)
Hourglass and Clinique also make tubing mascaras. A couple Japanese brands as well.
You say it takes 10-15 minutes of soaking to get it off. I hope you meant seconds!
I've never used the one you reviewed but have - and LOVE - Blinc. How does this compare?
I love that L’Oréal one!!!
I only use waterproof mascara cause my eyes water so much. I haven't found anything, but will try this. Oh by the way love your eye makeup. What did you use??
Thank you! They’re a few Multichrome shadows from Lethal Cosmetics! I talk all about them in an upcoming vlog :)
Thank you for this! I’ve loved the VB mascara and also the thrive…never had any luck at the drugstore!
The only tubing mascara's I've tried are the loreal one you mentioned and the thrive mascara. Personally I like the thrive one better, but it's over twice the price of the loreal one
Lots of people mentioning they like Thrives formula!

My daughter loves waterproof mascara specifically for the reason that it never comes off LOL. I think at this point she's layering up about 6 years worth of mascara.
Omg I could never, but maybe she’s a lot better at removing it every day lol! I do tend to throw in the towel after so much scrubbing 😆
@@BaileyB she never removes it 😂😂. Just keeps piling it on. College kids 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
@@DaltonsFriendswood omg she'll lose lashes which won't necessarily come back with age. Please explain to her.
Loving the Cali Ray tubing mascara…not drugstore but loving it❤️
I just bought the VB mascara and I liked blinc tubing but this is better.
It actually looks better than VB!
What is this new look? Two different eye look? I am not sure how it’ll look on me but on you- Beautiful!

I think it is a fiber, not tubing
@@hallievanoutryve3109 Sadly discontinued 😣 Still searching for a substituent that's as good as Snapscara.
Love this! Thank you! 😊❤️💄
Thank you so much for watching!
I like Thrive cosmetics tubing mascara
So many people saying they like Thrive!
Love my Beauty Tunes!
I like Snapscara by Maybelline but it’s getting harder and harder to find…
Ok so
Heck yes! 💗
In my opinion there is no need to buy overpriced mascara there are soo many good 1’s at the drugstore
The LA girl mascara isn't a tubing formula at all! It comes off easily with warm water too... But it isn't a tubing formula. It's smudges off with warm.water. not in tubes.
I thought the 2 step drug store looked better than the V. Beckham mascara
Double Extend is Too clumpy ! The primer doesn’t do any tubing imo, especially not with another mascara.
Try the last Blast Primer by Covergirl You would probably prefer that wand better.
