This is Catlevania: Lords of Shadow's First DLC, Reverie. It take place directly after the end of the first Lords of Shadow game, and is continued with the second DLC, Resurrection. We'll be doing Resurrection soon, as well as Mirror of Fate. Later on we'll redo Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 on PC so we can have it in our collection high quality, as well as its DLC. That way we can finally do a Lords of Shadow Complete Saga vid!
Laura summoned Gabriel in the castle. By killing the three Lords of Shadow, Gabriel unleashed a new menace: the Forgotten One, an incredibly powerful demon whom the Brotherhood imprisoned deep in the centre of the Bernhardt castle. Laura and Gabriel must find the entrance to the ancient fortress of the Brotherhood.

Man the very beginning with him standing looking down into the abyss. Hateful,sad,betrayed,alone,defeated,depressed. And then to hear a voice on the wind begging you one last time to help them. Literally the last vestiges of your humanity standing up despite being broken and shattered to sacrifice itself one more time for the sake of another. And the music that plays. U can feel his pain to do whats right despite feeling so destroyed inside
“You have no choice” “I know… I never did…” so cold. His words literally represent the entire trilogy. So much emotion. 🥶
I love Robert Carlyle. In my opinion he is one of the best actors in the world and deserves the credit. His voice is so amazing.
Is he the one who plays Gabriel or the Forgotten One?

Laura had more humanity than any of the lords of shadow combined!
I felt so sad for Laura. She was a great character in this game!
To be fair the lords of shadow were the dark sides of humans who purified their spirits and ascended to heaven. There was light in them to begin with. They were left only with the bad parts of three humans.
@@jofez27yea between her ending and and sparing Gabriel it seemed like just enough of who she used to be still lingered. Laura was probably my favorite character other than Trevor/Alucard

@Heart of Chaos No. It's NOT a great reboot. That would imply that it was good that Castlevania got rebooted. It wasn't. Not at all. Granted the first one WAS a great game, but only as an additional installment, not set in an entirely new universe. And Mirror of Fate was total garbage. The only one in the new trilogy worse than 2. The first one was really the only acceptable game of the new continuity and I still refuse to acknowledge it as such.
@@Superdarkcloud666 oh shush. This origin story was lightyears better than that soupy mess that was Lament of Innocence. Plus after Circle of the Moon the original Castevania canon went straight in the shitter. A reboot/retake was desperately needed, and LoS filled the shoes perfectly.

The first lords of shadow had a great story
This explains how Dracula was born.
In this case, it's not spelled "D-r-a-c-u-l-a". It's spelled "S-a-d, p-a-t-h-e-t-i-c, e-m-o v-a-m-p-i-r-e w-a-n-n-a-b-e"

Superdarkcloud666 I mean... the original timeline Mattias got mad at God for the lost of his wife elisabeta, and planned all the conflict from the beginning including deceiving Leon, but is not as tragic a Gabriel story, some purist just don’t like LoS for the actual gameplay, but the story is very well written the first game is a masterpiece, again it’s just my opinion
@@tandord491 Fair enough, but Gabriel shouldn't even be considered Dracula anymore after the they fucked up the continuity. He's just a Belmont at best. Before this DLC, they could have made it so he didn't become Dracula. So I refuse to acknowledge him as Dracula in any way. Not even in this continuity. Besides Mathias did more than just whine about his tragedies the whole time. He was a more dynamic and well-crafted character.
I just played this DLC and Finish the forgotten one, the hardest boss to kill
she said he'd have to leave all of it behind and become a creature like her but the fact that she showed remorse in what she had done and the fact that she was willing to die to save the world said that while he was about to become a monster he'd still have some kind of human heart it's just the way humanity and the brotherhood treated him is what turned him into Dracula.....I truly felt pity for Laura because she'd been turned into something she never wanted by a creature that wanted to "Play pretend" at being a mother and it was Gabriel and Marie's love that reminded her of what she once was
Not only that.
I think and hope, that after Gabriel freed Laura from her missery, that she was allowed to go into heaven. She may be a vampire, but She didn't become a vampire willingly and she sacrificed her life for Gabriel and also mankind (if I'm not mistaken) to save the world from The Forgotten One.
@@greyzero184 that is true but she did hurt alot of people in her efforts to "Play" with others and the only reason she stopped with Gabriel was the love he felt from his soul for Marie which reminded her of her own humanity

Sadly Yes. And it's not a surprise actually.
Everybody would go this dark path, when someone kidnaps you from your real family, steal your humanity by turning you into a monster and the only Thing you can do to survive is by killing people (no matter if they are Good/innocent and/or Bad/Evil) by trinking their blood and before you suffer from loneliness, the only one left where you can stay is your kidnapper. 😞
Laura only became nicer because of Gabriel and we saw that she isn't completely evil and can feel love and niceness again after she became a monster and knew nothing but evil and sadism for centuries.
@@greyzero184 well the way I believe in god I do believe he would've taken pity on her that or she would've been reborn and given a second chance because her family was killed in front of her by Carmilla she wasn't kidnapped

It would definitely be a better choice if Laura could be reincarnated/reborn as a new person.
The centuries as a vampire and the loss of her real parents are far too great, bad and cruel for her to forget everything and too difficult and maybe impossible to find peace even in heaven.
We'll also do the second DLC, Resurrection in upcoming days as well!

I know they probably did that different art style as a time-saving and cost-cutting measure, but I'll be damned if it isn't amazing.
This Castlevania had the best storyline hands down. And this is coming from a Castlevania fan since day one. I just love how they show Gabriel's journey thru darkness. And why he becomes Dracula. To bad they couldn't capitalize with 2. Because that Lords of Shadow 2 fucking sucked.
Gerald Snowman I think the forgotton one was simply forgotten, so nobody outside of maybe Satan would even remember him. I agree though, would have been cool
As for zobek, he is death if I'm not mistaken so I believe the idea is that he cheated his first death. But his first death was supposed to kill his "pious counterpart" in heaven. So if they are indeed symbiotically bound and one cant live without the other being alive, it makes even less sense that he would come back. Funny I never paid it any mind until you said so.
Derrell Arthur I agree with you. This actually would explain why it's the Belmont's that hunt Dracula because they are honour bound to stop what their family had started. The original Castlevania had an interesting plot too but personally I think you can only rehash it so many times. Both are good but Lords Of Shadow makes a bit more sense in terms of the Belmont's ties to Dracula

Would be nice if you can combine Reverie and Resurrection in one movie. Hopefully you guys get a chance to do that. Plus, i've seen your Dead Space movies recently, awesome work. Any chance you be doing the DLC for Dead Space 2 or 3?
Yeah we plan on doing a complete saga for Dead Space, just haven't got a chance to do DS3 yet. But we will do each DLC. We were thinking of combining Reverie and Resurrection together, but since they are separate we took advantage of the situation, since it takes really long to render in 2k/4k and 60fps. Complete Saga for Castlevania will be in 1080p though, because it would literally be impossible to post such a big vid on RUclips at 2K or 4k resolution with high bitrate. File size limit on RUclips is 128gb

I just finished the main story. Thanks to PS Premium, I only wish that the service was able to support the DLC of this and other if not all PS3 games as well.
Unfortunately, my PS3 is not working well atm so I am unable to play both Reverie and Resurrection right now or the near future
If by chance you ever do get to play both dlc's i advise you to go back and get all weapon upgrades(holy water, light/shadow medallions) cause you will need them. Took me forever to kill the forgotten one, reverie was not as bad but there are not many health/magic fonts in these levels so i also advise you to go back to a previous chapter(not satan battle) and fill up on everything(health/magic) or you will die many times. Good luck if you ever do play these levels they will kick your butt!
I wish that they'd make a game about the founding of the Brotherhood. Too bad shitty Konami owns the rights for this game.
