A really cool design and well executed. To add clarity and specificity to tool placement, consider painting each segment a unique color, or even just using 4 colors as a sort of quadrant sytem. "Can you grab me the pliers from the green section?"
Great video. Adam's cart is one of my favorites and I plan to build one in the near future. I have to finish my current project first (video to drop later this month). A 7 foot farmhouse style table that my wife wanted for her office. But, after seeing it and liking it, she said, "Would you be mad at me if I said I wanted it for the house and not my office?" Why would I be mad. It's a shorter distance to haul that beast. LoL! She's a principle and has classes and meetings in her office. Plus, she's on the 3rd floor. Again, why would I be mad? Any way, just sharing what I thought was funny. As I was watching your video I was thinking that instead of drawers on one side and bins on the other, I would make pass through drawers that I can open from either side and access the full drawer. That would suit my needs. Thank you for sharing this build and you have a new subscriber. God bless.
Wow, so many comments on how you ruined Adams design. You built it to how you wanted to use it. You liked his idea, but made it suit YOUR purpose. I do things like that myself. Excellent job. I made a work bench using the design of Ron Paulk on a few things, but I built it on how I wanted to use it. There is nothing wrong with using inspiration of what others have done. Thats how craftsmanship's evolve. Keep it up.
Honestly, I didn’t expect my build to spark so many different opinions. My goal was simply to share a new design that solves my problem. I really appreciate your kind comments!
What do people have against drawers? I like them. Tools outside of drawers get coated with sawdust in my shop. I certainly would put drawers in my cart.
The idea is that drawers are where tools go to die, and inevitably you wind up throwing things in there until they’re full of junk and become inaccessible, whereas the whole point of Adam’s design is that everything is out, visible, and accessible.
Did i miss the music credits? Nice build. IMO drawers are fine. It's what works for you and some tools don't hang well or have multiple parts that are better suited for a drawer.
@@MakerDadDIY ha! That explains why SIRI couldn’t identify the music I had asked it to ID. Back to the build, I really want to tackle your iteration but won’t likely be able to for about a year.
yes! You and I have the same ideas! I wanted to do 2-sided, half-length drawers at the beginning too, but then to save some money (drawer slides ain't cheap), I went with the current design lol
Yup great design , and the changes you made didn't solve "issues" they were design choices If you dig deeper into adam's Thought process on it about Drawers and first order retrievability it makes perfect sense and solves HIS issues. Your cart solves Your issues. they were choices. Your straight pump to plans though made me not come back anymore through, have a nice day.
Thanks for the comment! Just FYI, Adam later revised his first order retrievability statement by saying "drawers are great if each one is used to store a single purpose tools". ruclips.net/video/PRpRPsQKLo4/видео.htmlsi=AfVqvYdFFvHXxBQt&t=2591 here is the video where he modified his own old statement, at 43:11 time mark. Therefore I figured drawers are fine too.
yeah, that true. But I want to make a video to teach people how to build the cart, so I figured building one from scratch could be beneficial too :) thanks for watching my video and leaving the comment :)
I might say though, that your problem arose because you decided to modify Adam’s design and utilize every square inch of space- on his design, you lost space but you gave that up in favor of accessibility to tools. Plus your decision to use chunkier materials wound up eating into your space, too. For anyone else, it might be worth making a bigger cart, or multiple carts, with thinner materials as opposed to thicker materials with drawers. But of course, it’s different for every shop!
Great design, but the drawers inherently defeat the concept of First-Order Retrievability. In short, the concept of not having to open anything or move anything out of the way in order to retrieve the tool you want.

@@MakerDadDIY all is well. I also don't prescribe to the notion that one person knows what's best for the next. What's good in Adams shop may not be good for mine or yours all the time. I can appreciate that you did something that worked for you and put it out there for everyone. I'll finish the video.
Another well done piece! I love it!❤
Thank you so much!

Wow! Such a great design upgrade!! I love it man! Well done
Thank you! I appreciate it!
nice work bro!
Awesome build. Really nicely done.
Thank you! I love the car videos you made, so cool!
This is badass. I love it. You sir, have earned my sub. Thank you for the inspiration. Makers gonna make.
I like the drawers, I have no problem remembering what's inside of them...
Great video, very entertaining. And Excellent design! Love it. You could use a pocket hole jig.
Yes, good call out!

Amazing! I didn't even know there's passthrough drawers! My guess it's probably custom made? I love that idea and thanks for sharing!

Very nice design and execution. The video production is also excellent. I was even digging the music!
Thank you so much! I did spend a lot of time producing it :)
Very impressive, big love from the UK!
wow, I 'd so excited that my video get to be watched in a different country! thank you
Great job! It’s a good space saving design.
Thank you! I appreciate it!
Good music! Nice build

wow, I didn't expect my video would have someone watching from Spain! I'm so glad!
Nice RUclips recommendation 👍🏾.

Thanks for your support! All of the music are either copyright free or AI generated, that's why there's no music credits shown :)
Turned out great!
Thank you!
Great build! Could you tell me the music selection picked please?
The first two songs are random free music from RUclips. The rest are what I generated using AI :p

@@brainwashingdetergent4322 no worries. I really appreciate your leaving me the comments. Good luck to you!
Thank you. Is there a reason you did not put a drawer between the casters?
nice could also make ~half length draws from opposite sides, or even make some on opposite side inset "cubbies"
