2) Despite Gojo's immense popularity, Jujutsu Kaisen author Gege Akutami has openly expressed his dislike for the character.

4) Sinbad was initially a supporting character in Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic and Magi: The Kingdom of Magic but eventually earned his own anime, Magi: Sinbad no Bouken.

The frieren's one is so unreal, one of the bir reasons the anime became popular was because of frieren's expressions and her lazy childish behavior sometimes.

Not just side characters but also villains. For example, Esdeath. Revy is considered a MC and also a villain. In Gintama, no one steals the show as Gintoki is the MC.

Vegeta and Goku are relatives in popularity. Goku is one of the most reconizeble characters of all time.

Made in Abyss should be Reg (main character) 2 127 favorites on MAL instead of Riko (1000) and the character who is more popular is Nanachi (9 950 favorites) vs Bondrewd (4000).
Black Clover Asta/Yuno and Noel are considered main character. Yami has 14K favorites vs 3.8K favorites for Noel on MAL.
Monogatari : Araragi and Senjougahara are both considered main character. Shinobu is a side character.
Naruto : Kakashi is also considered a main character and actually has less favorites on MAL than Naruto.
Rising of shield hero : Not only Raphtalia is a main chara, she has barely more favorites than Naofumi.
Frieren : Just looking at the pictures saying Himmel is more popular than Frieren would be enough to consider this video is bad. Frieren has 20K favorites and Himmel 2K.

Obviously the author don't know the difference between main character and side character. Just because you follow a POV doesn't mean it's the ONLY main character. In HxH, Kilua is a main character. Also, for instance, in FMA, Edward has 87K favorites vs 37K for Roy. In Bleach, Zaraki is more popular than Toushirou.
In reality, there is barely any supporting character who are more popular than the main characters. There is though. For instance, Rem in Re:Zero as 45K favorites vs 20K for Emilia. But I don't think I saw it...
I really would not count the case when MC / FeMC get more popular than the other counterpart

Meu fi, se tu pesquisar o nível de popularidade dos personagens de Sousou no Frieren, O Himmel sempre vai tá em primeiro lugar no pódio. E até no Japão ele é mais popular que a Frieren.
