Enjoying the coloring series. 👍🇺🇸
Thanks Cortland!
I am loving this series John, thank you buddy for sharing. Can't wait for number 3. 👊👊👊
Thanks buddy. Glad you like it! Still trying to think what to do for episode 3. Let me know if you have any thoughts :-)
Just a thought John, could you explain how/why you select which colours go together, or is it just down to personal taste ?
Thanks Mike. Yep I will go over colour combos.
Interesting tips, John.
Thanks
James
Thanks James
Great second video John. I already have an airbrush but it has never been out of the box. That will change now. You make it look so easy I'm look forward to a lot of sanding to take the mess I make off. Looking forward to the next episode. Cheers, Huw
Thanks Huw. Dont be scared of making mistakes and sanding it all off. My advice would be to to what I've done here and get a blank and dont make anything from it, just play and take it off, play and take it off. Better to waste one blank than 10!
Good...
And youngsters will also like doing this as they enjoy colouring and painting...
Set up a channel for younglings Mr. Clothier featuring similar stuff and little projects that they'll enjoy doing...
Lol very true
Excellent tutorial!
Thanks buddy

Thanks buddy. Glad you are finding them useful. Airbrush is definitely worth having!

Well explained John, I’ve always wanted to use some colour on my turned pieces and have tried in the past but never been happy with the results, I’m sure your tutorials will help.
Thanks Mike. I hope that my colouring series will be of use and help you achieve the results you would like
I picked up a tip from somewhere cannot recall were ... but I have a bowl blank that I keep to practice techniques on before cutting it back for my next trial of goodness knows what I fancy colour or texturing without spoiling a properly turned piece👍
It's a great idea Kevin!
Oh god an air brush .. now, how am I going to get one of those past the wife lol
Interesting video John, cheers, Bram

Another good one John, enjoying this series.
Out of interest have you taken down some old videos?
I had a memory there were more of you gilding . Thanks
Thanks John. No I havent taken anything down.
@@JohnClothier thanks...clearly need to look harder. Standard #ManSearching to blame.🙄
Another great one John. :)
I note that you have your airbrush connected directly to your big compressor. What hardware have you got to adapt the fittings and have you had to “choke” the compressor’s output to match the airbrush?
This is something I want to do as having to set up the tiny compressor every time is a PITA!
Thanks Collin. I have an adapter that converts the airbrush fitting to the quick release type. I also have a regulator on the output of my compressor to regulate the pressure. To be honest I'm a bit lazy and usually leave it at around 100psi. I should really turn it down. I have thought about getting a second regulator and putting a t off the compressor to it and then I can have say 20psi on the airbrush and 100psi at the airline and use both at the same time.
Thanks John for the technical side of coloring got a air brush last year not used it for coloring yet,and what do you clean the sponge with, keep the videos coming
Thanks Barry. I dont generally bother to clean them I throw them and replace.
