I watch both you and Whooped regularly, damn watching you play against each other and knowing your play styles, that was much closer than I expected! Incredible stuff, I could see each of Whooped normal tactics developing through that game and look forward to seeing it from his point of view.
Cracking comeback chief, great plays as always. Wee note, scorpions are arachnids not insects, though the Mechabellum Scorpions do only have 6 legs so who knows what's going on.
That ion cannon sound clip dredged up some ancient memories. Great match, loved your aggressive oil use (probably?) discouraging him from taking fire on his callers.
Keep uploading. i will use your channel to get up to speed with the new units. havent played for almost a year. Love the calm voice and the explanations ❤
I wonder if he never went fire on his storms because he was worried you could put forward chaff and block his crawlers from getting into your line. In any case, fun match!
Enjoy both yours and Whoopeds channels. He's a good player so this was an interesting one to watch how your approaches differ. Very surprised he didn't go for Scorpion as it's one of his fav units.
What an amazing game, was not expecting the full reverse sweep. i was wondering when you would pivot into a non-aoe chaff clear unit but the oil forced the crawlers to group up enough for the aoe to clear up them nicely with how long the front line held. beautiful use the anti missile, i did not realized just how much those stormcallers were doing until you shut them down. the redeploy sandworm felt like a discarded tool that could have force your unit deployment to sub optimal, the opening chaff war was insane, so many, crawlers. didnt know that wide formation was so good once you had built up the numbers for them. was wondering where the air pivot was, then i saw both ranged and anti air on the marksman and realized why that never happened. nothing really in the game that deal with that if you cant keep those map wide sky clearers busy overall great game, missed hearing editor DRN fighting for his sanity but the edits were on point, i also missed that rhino smashing into your front lines without. As always, wishing you the best of luck and all the Sledgehammers!
Thanks for the detailed breakdown as always dude! Was a fun game, and yeah it can be hard to judge the impact of an individual unit in a composition. Sometimes you can get a feel for things if you're watching really closely but when it's super chaotic with lots going on then I'll watch the replay back and test out teching X unit or selling Y unit to get a feel for how things change. Editor DRN took a back seat on this one, don't worry he'll be back :D Have a great day and good luck facing the Stormcaller Scourge!
On R4 I'd have cheated my shields a bit forward and central to hopefully cancel the oil where my army will be fighting. I was so impressed with your scorpions! I would have gone quietly into the good night of this game. Range range range wins standard!
Was a really tough game! You're quite right, better shields could defo have made it easier. Was feeling a bit under the cosh the whole game, glad we managed to get Scorpions online in the end tho!
So I haven't waited for a launch sale, ibstead getting the game about a week ago Got up to 1500 mmr and then fell off hard to sub 1400. My previously favourite units of wraith and fire badgers as chaff clear began being countered by emp snipers (i like to run with range) and firebadgers get chopped up by scorpions. So far the tarantula seems to be the most reliable one (range and spood mines are great) As for my fave unit(s) I'd say it would have to be the improved sans worm with sudden strike for max splash, improved elite wasps and balls with the extended range drop. People also usually do not know how to deal with mech division ball spam
Yeah, felt bad for folks like yourself when I saw the sale come up - I wasn't expecting it at all - the last sale was the Christmas Steam Sale I think. Every unit has a counter, once your get to ~1600 then your opponents will know the correct counter to almost everything you play. The trick is to anticipate and punish by leading them into a none synergistic comp or a blind alley where you can punish hard. E.g. if you buy Wasps and they don't have Farseer unlocked then there's a very good chance they'll build Mustangs, which you can anticipate and counter with Vulcans with Range or Incendiary Bomb. I've not had much success with Worms, it's a unit I need to practise more with, a bit like War Factory. Defo hard to be proficient with every unit in every situation, the game has a lot of complexity and nuance! Hope you're enjoying the experience dude :D
I'm a bit surprised your opponent didn't make an air pivot in there, in the round or two after you picked up the scorpion card. You had a couple marksmen and fangs, but not really a ton of either. And with a card, that sorta forcasts that you'll be buying expensive units that can't fight air units I thought your use of oil to, potentially, share the flames back with them was pretty clever. Almost a shame we didn't get to see it in action
You're right air is always a good choice into Scorpion carry but I think the snipers put him off from going Phoenixes or Overlords. Wasps could've won him a round or two but then we'd have Mustangs with AA online and the wasps would struggle unless he was winning the chaff war heavily, it's why I often prioritise getting a couple of Marksmen early so they've earned a level or two to put folks off trying the longer range aerial threats.
I was debating it. He was only showing four snipers and a chunk of fangs. The Wasp pivot might've been a good closing game move but I always worry about the Mustang counter which shuts them down real hard! Wouldn't pick Overlord when we're playing Scorpion spam but Phoenixes can complement them well, the problem is both lose pretty hard to Elite Snipers which almost guarantees you'll be playing into it.
Man I'm loving 1.0 and ranked ❤
Love your vídeos DRN
Haha, glad I'm not the only one having a whale of time :D thanks dude!

Awesome, I'm looking forward to hearing his thoughts too! :D

My thanks, knew something didn't feel right when I said the line! :D

Yeah, looking back in review I'm not so sure about that oil use :D It may have put him off from going fire but didn't do a lot for us at the time.
@@Drone_101 I think the fire would have been worse for you, even in the oil-less rounds, so you may still have come out ahead
@@WerdnaTheRed Yeah, was very glad he didn't set the world ablaze! :D

Thanks dude, doing my best!
What a nail-biter! Fantastic comeback.
Thanks, was a fun one! :D
Good game! What a nail-biter!
Stressful! But fun :D

Suspect he was just being a kind soul, or maybe worried my own oil x2 would get ignited also. Ask him when he spots the video's gone live :D
The double teched rhino tower rush was crazy
Really did almost work. Think without the extra Scorpion that we put there that turn it'd have taken the tower with it's death rattle explosion.

Interesting! Didn't know he was a Scorpion enjoyer like me :D
