As an animal shelter director, I am honored to be able to donate some amazing dogs to this organization. Each of the dogs we have donated have been phenomenal and are absolutely killin’ it out there, saving lives. We sent a new dog just today, and he will be arriving at the facility in a few weeks. Thank you for this foundation, and for giving these discarded dogs a chance to become valuable assets. This is one foundation that I support wholeheartedly, and am so grateful for them reaching out and teaching me about their organization so that my shelter can contribute to this wonderful work. ❤️
These dogs are the difference between grief, despair, bereavement and hope. Bless them and all who work with them. Dogs are better than we will ever be. And yet we abuse them. Good for the dogs, they're brilliant. XxX
Without our guidance dogs descend into a feral state. As predators they have little to no empathy for their prey, and if allowed to grow up in the wild every dog will tear other animals apart happily, and will eat the guts and other body parts of their prey while the victim is alive and screaming. Dogs are not inherently better than humans. When dogs and decent humans come together; that's where the magic happens.
@@9459viola Dogs don't only hunt to eat. They will catch and mutilate and/or kill animals for fun. I'm not sure why you mentioned humans hunt and kill to eat, because that seems pretty irrelevant to me, but I'm certainly not under any illusion that humans are perfect moral paragons; of course we're capable of all the same atrocities as other non-human animals and so, so much more.
That opening scene brought tears to my eyes. A dog finding someone hopelessly trapped after a disaster is a beautiful thing. I watched a documentary on the Aggie Bonfire collapse of 1999, and the accounts of the folks who were trapped but rescued will stay with me forever, and the thought of the 12 who weren't found in time is utterly heartwrenching. This video brought back many of the feelings I had for the Aggie Bonfire victims.
Labradors from a working line such as Ben are amazing dogs. My husband and I have had the fortune to be given the chance to offer to a former gun dog his last pension year... they are so so so amazing, willing to work, obedient... Beyond description. Losing him broke my heart
I'll never understand how anyone can abandon a pet, much less two tiny ones who are so sweet! 3:45 - the most adorable thing ever! I am so proud that I send you money every month. Life is so stressful, but being involved in your rescue gives me so much happiness. Thank you, Hope for Paws!! 3:19
Victoria, I'm not surprised in the least that you're not resting on your laurels as a TV personality. Of course you are continuing your efforts to bring positive, pro-active human and animals interactions to light! I'm very happy to know of you and use your methods with my own dog. Continued success!
If anything this episode shows that what people consider throw away dogs that have been abused, rescue from a filthy puppy mill or considered non-adoptive can have a purpose as important as a human being. So before you abandon a dog think of the many organizations that use dogs in their service.
paradiseana1 ana thank you!! I just adopted a dog named maya from the shelter/pound a couple of weeks ago. She was an owner surrender.. and clearly abused. She was the dog you see in the commercials shaking and hiding in the corner of the kennel. But now, she’s absolutely amazing and I have no idea why or how anyone could ever hurt or abandon her. I’m planning to train her as a search and rescue & I’m just glad you said this because it’s true, dogs deserve to be loved, and given a chance.. I know it’s the best decision I ever made. 💕
Wonderful storey:) These dogs are amazing and so are the people who have to go in very dangerous places to rescue others...Thank God for the dogs and people who do this:)!!!!!
I had a wonderful co-worker who volunteered after 9-11, he said some of the dogs got really depressed after finding so many deceased bodies they had to take them out of service for a time.
Damn good dogs and men...makes me feel good knowing firefighters like this in America are going to other lands.... America can do some good but it begins with us not the government..brave souls of brave people and there little people I love it
Ironic that dogs have 4 wheel drive but most will never be SAR dogs. Most dogs instinctively avoid unstable surfaces/ tight spaces /heights but a SAR dog must operate on all three.
I think this is awesome and don't want to devalue anyone's commitment, but the sheer volume of animal trainers and lovers with time to dedicate; why limit it to firefighters? Even if it was only opened to the most dedicated individuals, the payoff would be exponential!
It requires a lot of training and commitment most people don't have the energy, time, or money for, unfortunately. In addition, it requires a LOT of knowledge on everything from crime scene preservation, evidence handling, technical skills, and fitness, to name a few.
super helpful. thanks. The best success that I have found was at Brainy paws (just google it) Without a doubt the most incredible dog training tips that I have ever used.

Some people aren’t fit to own dogs and just shouldn’t purchase a dog (most likely a puppy) in the first place
Just amazing what these dogs do. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story.
What a wonderful organization. Loved this video so much!

Stephanie Hanson It's not limited to them. They are part of the SAR team on that department. Not all have them.

Great story - the memorial & training center was someone's brainchild wish- and it seems, has come true.
Hmmm...he says he has a brotherly bond to his dog, yet he puts him in a prong collar? @4:26

Interesting but too much emo talk.
