No, that’s not coloration that made him look dirty, it’s soot from the vintage coal-fired locomotives that they maintained in the museum! He would spend all his time in the sooty train barn where the engineers worked. He was the filthiest and sweetest cat I ever met. Sadly, he passed away earlier this year. They have a little bronze statue of him now. RIP Dirt

we rescued 3 stray kittens who's mom abandoned them months ago.. one of the girls had especially sad looking eyes as if she was always on the verge of tears so ofc I had to name her Muchacha, short for El Muchacha De Los Ojos Tristes. but when she's being extra cute it's Lil Mooch. she and her brother like to claw the sht outta my inner thighs, ankles, and wrists whenever I supervise playtime. I'll probably have these scars for the rest of my life but I won't always have these babies to love so it's worth forgiving them. sorry I'm gettin emo now it's just around this time of year is when we lost our 2 beloved tux cats, one of them being my cat of 17 years. she was dying of old age not in the "peacefully in her sleep" kinda way but rather her health very suddenly declined and I couldn't get her to a vet cos it happened on a friday night. all I could do was keep close watch of her, try to make her drink the kitten milk I got via bottle but she straight up wouldn't drink. and make her as comfortable as possible while she was silently suffering. was so horrible, and tho I was in denial that whole weekend about it being her time, I was so relieved for her when she finally passed 3:37am oct 3rd 2022 next to me as I watched tv with her. now autumn makes me sad asf and I think about her daily but I don't have to worry anymore about what could go wrong since the worst has already happened. I can move on and give that love to people that could use it right now.. these babies
