Watch out for creaking bushes, every time they get replaced they fail after 10k miles. Some owners have gone through 3-4 sets before getting fed up and selling their cars. The serpentine belt starts to squeal every 10k miles too. I had two fitted on mine. The fitted Renault 1.2 litre normally aspirated engine is very under-tuned to meet emissions standards. It's very sluggish compared to a Toyota VVTi engine of the same displacement. Makes motorway driving a pain when you have to change gear when overtaking lorries or going up an incline. There's just no torque from the engine unless it's pushed hard, which has an effect on fuel economy. I would not buy this car again.

I've had a diesel note for 7 years. I purchased a 2 year old, 2013 (new style) note.
Firstly this car doesn't compete with the Jazz, Yaris or Fabia. They are all tiny inside in comparison. This is a family hatchback in my estimation. The rear leg space in a Note is more than a lot of executive class cars, so nothing like the Fabia or Yaris. Also, the boot capacity is comfortably bigger than a Jazz, and about the same as the current generation Ford Focus. I've taken our family of four on camping holidays and week long trips away and never found it lacking in space for these tasks. I've driven or been in Fabias, Yaris' and Jazzes.... They are just not comparable cars to the Note. The Micra, yes, not the Note.
Over 7 years of ownership the air-conditioning has failed. It's not just a recharge needed but there is a leak. I could hear the gas leaking out when it was switched on. Speaking with a Nissan garage I'm told this is not uncommon. Other than that a part of the gear linkage did fail this year (£80 to fix, parts and labour. It connected the gear box shifters to a counter balance) and brake pipes needed replaced front and back along with rear brake bleed valves (£400 bill). Other than these matters all other repairs on the car have been for standard consumables (drop links, discs, pads, tyres, etc etc).
The 200nm/150ft lb of torque that the engine puts out is a real treat, and the fuel economy is very impressive. Both my old boss, a friend's wife, and a mechanic at my local garage all previously had cars with the same engine and all three of them wish they still had it as they missed the torque and fuel economy.
Stand out features are the diesel engine (also used in Renault Kadjar, Nissan Qashqai, Daci Logan), rear leg space, high drivers position, sliding rear seat bench and rear doors that open to a full 90 degrees which is great when dealing with the kids car seats.

Good info thanks. Looking at an under 120g/km car with decent torque and as much interior space as possible. The 1.5 dCi Acenta Premium seems to win 'used car top trumps'?

@@davefloyd9443 definitely get a look at one in person. For our family of four the boot is _just_ big enough owing to the ability to slide the rear seat forward to make more space when necessary.
I was actually just doing the designated driver bit for a stag night and the passengers commented on the generous amount of leg space in the back, unprompted.

Hi @myeyesarewaiting I have a 2011 Ford Focus for my delivery jobs. It was 101k miles and now it is about 185k in 4 years. Fuel consumption is about 50-52 mpg / 5.2- 5.7L/100km. Recently, I got repairing bills a lot. But it was a great car so far. Anyway, I am looking to get an another used car for my delivery jobs like a 2013-14 or 2015 one. Do you suggest this car for this job? Can I get more than 60mpg fuel consumption? If I save %20 of my fuel consumption I can get one via car finance with that saved money. Thanks.

@@Valentin_K I'd say it's a gamble. Not long after writing that comment I started getting lots of repair bills. Struts, exhaust, and the release bearing on the clutch was on the way out. I think you'd hit your mpg target. If you were doing a lot of starting a f stopping for your deliveries I'd be concerned that the DPF would end up needing forced regenerations, it does need some proper runs to keep it burned down. Also, if there are any low emission/clean air zones on your delivery routes check that you won't get charged/fined. I know it isn't accepted in a low emission zone near me.
Even the new style note is largely a Renault Modus in terms of parts, even though they switched out the chassis. So put your expectations in that car class rather than typical Japanese car reputation.
Bloody brilliant engine though. I miss mine.
