It makes me sad that they don't care about true beauty. The houses they build today, have no real beauty. They are boring. This is such a beautiful house. I would love to live in it. Thank you Noah for another great video. Love you and please stay safe.

The good news is it won't be that way forever. We can still have houses with real beauty.

Houses were made better back in the day. They used real material and not fake ones like they do today. And what gets me they cost more money for houses using cheaper materials. Just like cars and trucks and whatever else you drive on the roads these days. Cars and trucks were made with real materials like steel parts and body parts. Today their all made with cheap plastic and for some reason they cost more money today than they did back in the day. Sad that companies rip people off these God awful days.

On the back deck, the top is called a pergola.. the extra countertop portions would have been cutting boards..

My heart is broken that again another great home is being torn down.....WHAT A WORLD WE LIVE IN THAT PEOPLE CANNOT SEE THE BEAUTY IN THIS AND OTHERS AND TRY TO RESTORE AND PRESERVE THESE LAST OF A DYING BREED BEAUTIES!!!

I pass by this home on my way to work, and I always wanted to see inside.
There was a redevelopment sign on the front yard for years. I assumed that they purchased the property and allowed owners/ renters to stay until development.
    Thanks for this.

Such a beautiful house on a beautiful property. I would so much rather live in a modest house like this one with its huge property than a new McMansion about ten feet from its neighbor. Society is sick with its quest for always larger homes. I hate the thought of this home’s premature demise due to developer greed.

    Hi Noah
WOW!! This was a lovely house. Too bad about the basement with all that mold.
This is what happens when the owners sell out to developers who can’t wait to
get in and tear it down. It seems so common in Canada to tear down good
houses that people should be living in. This really is a beauty. I like everything
about it. That big table in the basement could have been their dining room
table. Overall a cool explore. Nice work Noah. You always give us your best.
Thanks for sharing this lovely gem with us. Stay safe and well.👍🆒

You are right ...they are ash Clean out for the Fireplaces

  • @ronfraser5401
    @ronfraser5401 9 месяцев назад

The fake fireplaces in the master bedroom and the basement were probably electric fireplaces originally, they acted like electric heaters in the rooms and had a fake fire showing. They were quite common at one time because you could have a fireplace without running a flue pipe.
The ash cleanout doors were common with wood burning fireplaces, there would be a small covered opening in the back of the fireplace, you would open it with the poker and push the ash into it so it could be cleaned out either in the basement or outside, kept you from hauling a bucket full of ash across the living spaces.
    Another great explore, thank you.

I would have been in heaven to have a charming house like this one. Another shameful waste. Thanks Noah for documenting. Haha. I get workload shoes too. The basement tells a lot about the owners as practical and resourceful people. Canning and workshop and it being unfinished. Those were the days when people took more care of stuff instead of throw aways.

Basement needs major mold remediation probably because the power is off and the sump pumps weren't working. But the rest of it is just about move in ready. All it needed was some updating and TLC - makes no sense to destroy something that could have been saved and used. Sad....
