I just had to dig out a black Les Paul Custom in memory of John Sykes, and the backing track does sound a bit like late '80's Whitesnake.

Mid 00’s Epiphone Japan Les Paul Custom through two signal chains:
Keeley DS-9 in SD-9 mode, Maxon PAC-9, and Ibanez AD-9 through a Ceriatone OTS Mini 20. The amp is recorded via an Audio-Technica AT-2020 which is close on the speaker grill of an open back 1x12 cabinet loaded with a WGS G12C. The amp is being attenuated by a Bugera PS-1.
Ceriatone 18W TMB’s TMB channel with a Boss RPD-10 in the effect loop. Recorded using a Tascam TM-80 about 3” from the speaker grill on a close backed 1x12 cabinet loaded with a Ceriatone Vintage 30.
Additional EQ, Compression, and Reverb added using plug ins.
