I’ve been watching Etika since smash 4 started leaking,
I was just 12 and thought he was the funniest and most underrated RUclipsr out there, Every time I had a rough day, I always end it all right because I always got to hop on to his livestreams,
His DLC reactions were the most unique over-the-top and iconic memories I cherish to this day,
Unlike you, I never donated, even though I really wanted to, the way he interacted with his viewers made his seem so real! Unlike many other RUclipsrs that started doing unbelievable amounts of clickbait around late 2014 and 2016...
The hype for the Nintendo switch was nothing short from the best damn ride in my life.
Around mid 2018 I stopped watching him because I thought he was changing for the worse. He started doing crazy stuff and got really edgy. (He was always edgy, but in the funny sort of way) but I remained a subscriber for ovations like splatoon 2 and ARMS news.
I was there when he posted P*rn on his RUclips channel, I was really concerned, I was in the majority of folks that thought he was hacked, but then I saw a video of him having a mental breakdown because of Twitter suspending his account for using the N word constantly.
I saw his next mental crackdown live on twitter and Instagram, those days I was genuinely depressed that my childhood RUclipsr is going crazy.
I am not going to go any further details because I get really sad every time I hear his words from his final video in my head.
I got mad respect for you lucbomber, your donations and memes with Etika always made the streams more enjoyable, I know I rambled a lot here but I never shared my feelings of this with anyone, everyone I know either doesn’t know Etika, or didn’t like him.
I’m 16 and about to turn 17 and all my great years I owe them to Desmond. May he sleep easy now.

What makes me so upset is the fact that he seemed so happy. I didn’t watch his streams I mostly watched the short clips on yt of him but every video I saw of his he was so full of life and cheerful so when I found out he killed him self I couldn’t believe it. I was in Summer School when i found out that Etika died. I literally cried in real tears when they found him dead. So heres a little story of how i liked etika. Ok?....
It was March of 2018 i was a little fan of Nintendo then im a big fan now. And i scrolling down my RUclips and i found a video of The Super Smash Bros. For Nintendo Switch Reaction video. Etika was in that compliation and his reaction to the new Smash was hilarious and then i started watching him again, again, and again. And then i became a big fan of his videos.
And then on June of 2019, i was in summer school and i was on my computer and looked up Etika to see how he was doing. But then when i saw that the NYPD said that they found Etika's Body next to the Brooklyn Bridge. I was SO devastated from this story. I legit cried my ass off.
And then Fast Forward to December 5th, 2019(Which is Today) I saw that RUclips Rewind 2019 on my recommended. I watched the whole video and found out that Etika wasnt in it. I got fuckin pissed. And then this vid got more dislikes than 2018s Rewind. I disliked because Etika wasnt in this video. Its Bullshit from RUclips

I never actually watched Etika back in the day even though all my friends did. When I heard he passed I decided to go back and watch a bunch of videos of him. I really regret not enjoying this man's content and I hate that he was in such a dark place mentally that he decided taking his own life. All I ever saw was the way people laughed at him on social media and it's such a weird, sad feeling to only discover a creator when they're permanently gone. I know he was a good dude and he's chilling in a better place now.

I broke down crying a few hours ago when I was watching an Undertale live stream of Etika, I went down to read the comments and the comment section reminded me of how much people were making Etika's situation incredibly worse which were still happening on the day he had died. People used his painful death for so many selfish reasons and it broke me, why in God's name did a person like this have to be treated with such disgusting behavior? Why are they stepped on and used when they have already passed on? His final day loads of big names were attacking him and added fuel to the fire, why can't they stop?
What the hell did Etika deserve to get betrayed and misunderstood by most of his own "fans?" I know the answer but it had to happen to one of the people I looked up to and inspired me to want to start a youtube career myself, to be more confident and accept who I am. It fucking hurts and I can't accept it, maybe I will soon but I'm hoping there is a genuine place of peace that is like heaven so people like him can rest.
I may have not been a Joycon Boyz or a super fan but I would be lying if I didn't admit to being reduced to tears for what seemed like minutes watching these memorial videos.
I first found Etika through his reactions on the game Undertale and I got hooked to him since. This is why I always revisit him through UT or DT streams because they were the streams that still make me smile and laugh to this day. Whatever he was doing, even if it wasn't my taste, I'd still enjoy his reactions to literally everything. I'm sure he was a wonderful and fun fucking guy to be around with, I miss him so much.
Pretty late to his birthday, I'll be more aware this time. To those who are still broken from his death, I hope you all remember the good times you had watching this guy and know that he's resting for sure now, away from all the problems in the world, I hope you guys recover like me too.
