What we needed was a spin off show that fully centered around Lana Parilla and Robert Carlyle absolutely killing it. By far and away the two best actors in the series and their talents were dynamic playing off each other.
I once thought about a spin off series centered around Rumplestiltskin feeling like he didn’t deserved a happy ending after everything he’s done. So, He moves out of StoryBrooke to kickstart a new adventure to find himself. Unfortunately, season 7 ruined that possibility with his death. However, maybe the series could be reworked with his descendant Gideon who should have a bigger role that same season. But who knows if the franchise should continue or not.
I would say the were the couple of the best actors. Along with some others. Like Hook’s for example. I did love Regina and Rumple’s dynamic. And Hook with them too. And Cora with them too. Some of the best. And etc.
Same. I loved the way they twisted the stories in a way that explained things better than any fairytale. I do wish Regina had gotten her happy ending with Robin but at the same time I’m all for no women always needing a man, and that she got her happy ending in the end with her sister, son and friends.
I love characters who you hate at first but when you go in to their backstory and understand their motives, you grow to like them and even in some cases route for the,.
Given the success of the live-action series, a film expanding the Evil Queen's backstory could be compelling. In such a movie, Lana Parrilla could portray the adult Evil Queen, while another actress could play her younger self, as Parrilla has effectively embodied the character.
I'd love an animated series which could include Regina and a reformed Sherriff of Nottingham falling in love. I don't like Regina having only Henry to really love.
True, in all honest the entirety of the 7th season was terrible, hence why i stoped watching after season 6. Series like OAT are the reason why i refuse to watch series or Anime with more than 6 seasons.
I don't know if being Queen is what would make Regina happy because when Henry left after high school, Regina said felt lonely and unfulfilled being mayor of Storybrooke. So Henry invited her to join him so she could find her own story. So maybe Regina would have needed to continue that journey. However I love that Henry's love for his mom helped her become the good person she was before her mother caused the hurt that made Regina turn evil.🤔
Mills women were truly great villains. Regina and Zelena are specially the best. And I also think Regina should’ve given the throne to Henry, her heir, and his family.
Completely unrelated but since Regina's the main topic of the video we get to see a collections of fabulous fashion. Damn, the costuming on her was particularly good as the evil queen. She always looks ON POINT.
In-between watching from the beginning, I’ve been told by more than one fan to stop watching after season 3 which I did. But during all of it, there’s a rewatch podcast I’ve listened to, Once Upon a Timing, that’s honestly so fun to listen to even if you don’t care about the show! You have my recommendation! Edit: one of the biggest missed opportunities for me was the world-building. Or I guess, small-town-building. What would a small town governed by fairy tale characters look like after they regained their memories? One of my ideas was a retail store so massive with doors so long and wide that giants can walk through them. Call it Bunyan’s.
Season 4B with the Queens of Darkness is where I cut off my rewatches nowadays. I only watched a few episodes of Season 5 and could not stand it but I loved 4B.
I think there isn’t enough credit to her motherhood and time with Henry and co parenting with Emma. Her journey mothering Henry has had her face her troubled relationship with her mother. And I would have cast a better Henry 😅
As someone who's experienced this directly now, it's amazing how a promise to someone can change you as a person. So yes, it is extremely realistic that Regina barely slipped up after letting Henry go where he wanted after the curse broke. I was completely overwhelmed when i got my Belgian Malinois puppy, and so many times i wanted to quit. But when i got him, i made him a promise that he would never see a shelter. And he hasn't. Despite the enormous amount of times i wanted to get mad AT him, i never have - because I wanted to be better for him. He has literally saved/changed my life as Henry did for Regina. He's the reason I get out of bed, out of the house. I've never in my life experienced that kind of unconditional love before him. It changes a person. I identified with her so much because I carried that rage and jealousy against the world. That desire to hurt everyone who'd ever done you wrong (in youn eyes). When Regina and Emma were in New York and looking for Henry, Regina said, "It's exhausting. I'm constantly at war with my instincts". I'm pretty sure that's the moment I fell for her character. I play video games because prison is real, and I am a marshmallow. But it helps release that trapped fury and rage. Watching pixels bleed, listening to their last breath. I honestly believe she was the anchor of that show. I do remember the story of how she got it. That she came in for a screen test, and even without the evil queen's outfits or hair, legit managed to strike fear into the hearts of the casting crew, and they were sold. Even though IRL Lana is about the nicest person alive it seems.
I would love to see once upon a time back on the tv or maybe on Disney plus. I have rewatched the show over twenty times since finding it and it’s on Hulu as well plus I bought the entire box set. Regina should have had another adoptive child just sa
Season 7 was not fucking needed. They could have had the season 7 finale moment with Regina in the Season 6 Finale. I loved the first 6 seasons but absolutely FUCKING DESPISE SEASON 7
I found the storyline of season 7 to be all over the place. I do believe they should’ve ended with 6 and did a flash forward to see where the characters ended up in say 10 yrs time.
She probably wouldn’t have if she wasn’t forced into close proximity with that girl for several years and forced to marry her father all the while being miserable and probably r@ped by the king. There’s no way she wouldn’t have blamed Snow White for her misery after all that. Doesn’t mean it’s right but it’s understandable.
I wanted her to STILL dress super high fashion and dark. At the end when they crowned her the good queen. Probably have david make a comment about her clothes. And her coming back with a snarky comment about just because shes not evil doesnt mean she doesnt have taste. Or something like that.
I agree with Regina reckoning with her evil side. And honestly the first time I saw the final battle between Regina and her evil side I thought the resolution was them uniting as one again. In my opinion it was a missed opportunity to do that
Also, while I understand why Robin was so important in Regina’s storyline and in her development, etc. I just personally despise how BRUTALLY his wife was MURDERED (her body completely annihilated, meaning no remains to be buried, no ashes to be kept or scattered… it was actually REALLY messed up), but we’re not supposed to care because we’re meant to root for Robin and Regina. Maid Marian, THEE Maid Marian, was LITERALLY turned into the disposable Black love interest! Let that sink in. I’m not saying Marian needed to stay with Robin. He could have made the choice to leave her (if he even wanted that) and she could be allowed to raise her son and live a life. But Once Upon a Time was HORRIBLE to it’s Black characters.
When Regina was able to love herself both good and evil, that’s when she felt the inner goodness. Yes, I would have love for her to have a king by her side. Maybe another Robin from another realm. My thought was that Jamie Doran who played the Huntsman in the beginning could be another Robin who lost his true love and finds her.
Yes, him being a villain makes no sense, he has everything, he made peace with his son before he died, he has a hot wife, he has a sort of family with everyone in storybrooke what more could he want
Regina was a rapist and murderer. I hated how the rest of the characters just put that aside. The most egregious example was when Emma witnessed Regina burning her mother alive and laughing. Then just a few minutes later,in her perspective, Emma was apologizing for putting a crimp in Regina’s love life by saving the life of her boyfriend’s wife.
Not too mention throughout season 2 she was getting so frustrating with the whole trying to be good and going back to being evil and then she’s back to being good again to earn Henry’s love thing. When I was watching that season, the moment when she tried to curse Henry and blow up Storybrooke with the intents of bringing him and her to the Enchanted Forest, I felt like she was a lost cause. I got sick of her crap and it’s an endless wonder she got redeemed because I was done with her.
Honestly I would’ve kept Robin as well, yes I’m in complete agreement that not all women need men but for Regina Robin made her happy and a better person. I agree with you that he said what needed to be said to her, no offence to Snow’s numerous talks. I loved the show and love the various character arcs, that I honestly believe that Elsa and Ana had a magical Aunty.
She should've apologized to the Charmings and returned the hearts in her vault. Her being the Good Queen after being a dictator/mass murderer feels weird. I don't think all the people whose families she murdered would accept it, even if she "changed". I liked that she ended up single, but after this video I agree that she should've found love instead of a position of power.
I think k her happy ending was accepting who she was and loving every part of herself. This came when she chose not to kill her evil half but rather share some of her love so that they would both have a chance at happiness. I would’ve kept Robin tho; it broke my heart when her chance at love slipped away once again.
I absolutely loved everything about Regina's storyarc, seeing her going from Evil Queen to Good Queen. But I *almost* stopped watching the show (I didn't but came real close lol) when they killed Robin. I was soooo mad.
I really want Once Upon a Time to return. When that happens, I hope that we get to see Regina get pregnant and have a baby and we get to see how Henry deals with siblings in his life. Also, I want Pocahontas and Moana to appear in a sequel series as well as Lilo & Stitch too. I hope we get to see Maleficent & Lily again, their story was left unfinished. I really hope Regina finds love again and her love stays, because every time she did find love, they died in the end.
Lana was basically the Puerto Rican Paula Marshall (a few failed series, some memrable guest roles) until OUAT came along. Fun fact: Paula Marshall was cast as Maleificent until they went in a different direction.
for every other main character on the show it was possible to bend the rules of magic but not for reginas happy ending apparently. yes she caused a lot of suffering (including rape) but it's not like her bad karma didn't bite her in the butt constantly besides when magic and prophecies exist in the universe of a show it's save to assume if bad things could have been prevented there would have been a way. of course regina doesn't need a man fixing her but she always deserved romantic platonic and familiar love. that said OUAT is still my favorite live action show (outside marvel at least)
Strongly DISAGREE...she struggled a lot during seasons 1-3 and a little bit in season 4. They didn't forgive her too fast. Snow and Charming didn't forgive her completely until after the 3rd season. I think you missed a lot of the plot points where her consequences did come back to bite her in the ass.
5:46 no they are not 😂 they literally took her rights as Henry’s mother away. And constantly preached to her about doing the right thing for a couple of seasons.
