I am 71 year young man, your new subscriber staying in Mumbai, India and I have been diving from a 1 metre spring board for last 4 years or so. great tips, but heres another i use, that helps A LOT! blowing bubbles through your nose when you go in the water, and go out of the water for air. you may be asking: “but i cant blow bubbles for that long, i dont have enough breath?” you ONLY blow bubbles when you go in and go out, when youre underwater water is IN your nose, but not deep enough where its stuck in, when you get out you blow bubbles, and itll get out. i hope this helped! reply to this comment if there are any questions!

yeah, the nose clip is often falling off even if I jump headfirst from the poolside. Water in the nose is tough, I'm swimming for just 3 months and still haven't mastered exhaling in such a way that I don't get water up my nose. I do the drills and I can swim breaststroke, front crawl is 50/50. I guess, practice makes the master?
@choppinupyoblock its not really an exhale before entering its more like a brace. I'll do my best to describe the feeling. Imagine trying to blow out of your nose as hard as you can but also stop yourself from doing it.with your nose. Its kinda builds pressure in your nose where u breathe, preventing water from getting far in there. I do that before I get in and as I'm in the water. When I'm leaving, it's pretty much the same thingby the time you get up and release the pressure you shouldn't feel a thing. If u need a better explanation lmk.
Awesome video as always. I am really curious about how to make a big splash when you dive. I think that it would be a great video. Keep up the good work.
I was nervous when you dove head first straight down, looks like you could actually hit your head if you did it from 10m (which is nuts bc how deep it is). Since divers don't usually do this, is water up the nose just something they're used to?
I think it’s a matter of getting used to it.. it’s probably so sensitive for people because they don’t get in the water that often. Me just being a casual swimmer.. I’ve just gotten used to it. You gotta be desensitized to it over time and that will happen the more you’re in the water.
I have a question. The usage of a nose clip, even though effectively blocked the water to get inside the nose, does it put more pressure to the ears/ear canal similar when cover your nose with your hand? I mean it seems like a similar mechanic.
Well yes and no clips don't put as much pressure as your hands because when you hit the water your muscles tighten and your arm will hit the water really hard and hurt but the ear pressure still remains but it won't make your ears explode or anything unless you go really high and jump in like 15 or 20
Idk i never get any water in my nose beacuse when i jump as soon i get in the water i start breathing air out off my nose so the water doesn't come in to my nose. Plz can u try that solution in your next video?
The quality of your videos are amazing! Also, is there any way to make a back flop less painful? For example, if I underspin on a front flip, will rolling into a ball make the back flop less painful. What keeps me from front flipping is the fear of back flopping 😄😄😄
When I jump in the second my head hits the water I breath out of my nose pushing all the water out, although if you go really deep it depletes your oxygen so get a good breath of air or swim up fast.
Well yes and no clips don't put as much pressure as your hands because when you hit the water your muscles tighten and your arm will hit the water really hard and hurt
Another way to not get water in your nose how you breathe out just do that under water so if it gets in your nose it will come out easily and also if there is no water in your nose still do it. It’s really helpful.
i did hold my nose once i jumped from the 3m platform and i instantly got blood coming out of it but that was once and never again after it so for me it still works with holding my nose from 3m and 1m and every time i dive in head first there is no water coming inside it
I have always just holded my nose with hand but for now on, i will try to learn a tecnique that will work without getting water in your nose but without holding my hand!
I appreciate what you do and always that you are speaking English. This is great stuff. I understand what you mean by "exclusion" here 6:24 but the word that starts with the letter e which you were looking for is "exception". That's what we usually say when something takes place which is not is against the opposed to what usually happens. We say taht was an exception.
Do you got any tips for diving head first, because when i last did a dive from 3m i hurt my neck. My head i guess wasnt 100 % straight while entering the water so the force like "twisted" my neck which caused like a neck brace and I also hade pain in my shoulders. Thanks for great videos!
Exhale out your nose a little bit when you go under the water, as long as you don’t go upside down or something. The air will stop the water from entering your nose and you will still have nearly full lung capacity
Can you also make a video on how not to perforate your eardrum when hitting the . I never have to hold my nose, but I always seem to have to hold my left ear. It seems to get perforated when I just from 3 Meters. Thanks.
Just get the air out when entering the water from your nose and the pressure will keep water out your nose, no need of hand or other things, also this only work for diving cuz if you want t9 do those thing of sinc swimming then you need a thing that closes your nose
Im actually waiting for this vid but dang Hi Anya hahaha Im just curious, does the nose clip do jot build uo pressure just like pinching your nose with your hand?
🤣 The thing is that if you cover your nose with the hand that can affect entry in a bad way. Nose clips are working much better. That really surprised me because I’ve never used them while diving for 20+ years 😂
What technique do you personally use? I want to be able to jump from 5 metres without getting water in my nose or breathing some in on accident. Thanks
I have a mild fear of drowning. My friend pushed me into a pool without warning and i thought i was gonna die (yes im a dramatic little gremlin.) Getting water in my nose kind of intensifies my fear. Thanks for this!

So do you blow out air when you hit the water or do you blow it when youre in the water

Yes, when you exhale in the duckface method it has the same purpose
I don't know, it's like the water pressure is too strong and i can't exhale.

Trying to understand. Is clip pressure different from the pressure from holding your nose? Cause if so that's pretty cool.
Well yes and no clips don't put as much pressure as your hands because when you hit the water your muscles tighten and your arm will hit the water really hard and hurt
