What a load of crap!!! Where the hell is Spain??? It's regularly touted as one of, if not the most progressive countries for LGBT rights! Madrid, its most populated city, also hosts a weeklong gay pride festival AND hosts the largest pride event in Europe! It has previously hosted world pride as well! Both Madrid and Barcelona each also have a large gay neighborhood
Darling, this video is about summer holidays, Madrid in August is hellish, 40ºC+! Every Spaniard runs away from central Spain in the summer, if they can! And remember, this video is from a travel company, they are speaking about markets they work with. That's the assumption.
No Ireland? Gay Prime Minister. The first country in the world to legalise same-sex marriage through a referendum. Where transgender people can self-declare their gender for the purpose of updating passports, driving licences, obtaining new birth certificates and getting married, etc., etc.
Yeah I was waiting to see Ireland featured in the list too, considering the facts you've,correctly, stated regarding LGBTQ+ rights here I'd have expected it to make the top 10!
Netherlands should really be added to the list, it has been the first country to legalize gay marriage and as far as I know even most people from the older generation are very accepting of the LGBTQ community. And to all people commenting "No Germany?"/ "Where is Germany?" I kinda disagree. I mean I'm from Germany and yes I think in general most people at least in big cities and the younger generation are accepting and don't have any problem with it, but older people don't get it. They are too conservative. I feel like they aren't hardcore homophobic, but just to old-fashioned oof. I mean we got gay marriage legalized and full adoption rights so you have no problem being lgbt in germany, but like for example the scandinavian countries are just on another level of in terms of public acceptence.
As a Dutch person I can say that a lot of people (atleast youth population) really aren't that accepting of LGBT as the international media likes to portray it. It's mostly due to the fact that most people aren't observant on a religion and thus don't care about limiting gay people from getting married and such, but neither do a lot of Dutch people care about homophobia.
Thank you for making a material like that, but I recommend consulting LGBTIQ+ people when making a video on us before posting it. Did you notice who all the people showing each other affection in the video are? YOUNG, WHITE, ABLE-BODIED, CIS WOMEN. First of all no diversity at all (ethnicity, age, ability) and definitely not a good representation of LGBTIQ+ community. Secondly, this type of strategy is a common attempt at desexualising LGBTIQ+ community to make it more "palatable" for a wider audience. Show that you really support us by showing a suitable representation of us.
You didn't watch the video did you? It mentioned trans people in Norway. And Europe is mostly white at the moment so it will show a lot of white people there because thats who lives there at the moment. I'm sure there will be some diversity shown soon though. AND there were loads of old people in the photos. Did you just watch 30 seconds and create an opinion?
Even though Brighton has a massive LGBTQ safe haven, people of different skin colour or country origin a part of the community struggle quite a bit no matter what. You'll always get mostly the older generation who don't agree with any of it often causing problems with children who grow up with them. Without attaching yourself to a place like All Sorts there's no back up with what can happen yet people who discriminate can be reported unlike countries that will have it the other way around. But of course if it's for a vacation destination then it's just good to keep away from the lanes or any other sparsely populated street when it gets dark heading 7pm onwards. There's always the odd one or two person causing chaos but no one picks you out like a sore thumb during crowded hours. It's rare but always good to take the chance of staying safe.
You're spot on for Belgium and The UK. Sorry but Berlin, Barcelona and especially Madrid definitely needed a mention. Madrid has the largest gay pride festival in europe... And well Berlin is (LOL) = Anything Goes

The Netherlands
The Netherlands
Not the Netherlands? Seriously? Amsterdam is the gayest city in the world and we are the first country to legalise same sex marriage

Even in summer Barcelona, Sitges, Gran Canaria, Torremolinos, Ibiza or Benidorm has bigger gay scene in summer than number 1 Malta. What a list!
