My old days memories. I and other children used to trespass the yard daily to go to school. But then it was steam locomotives days. I still remember the day we saw the Diesel engine that came on trial basis. It was 1959 or 60. It was ALPW 18. presently the shed and the yard wore deserted look. But then it was full of activities. Mechanical staff were seen attending the engines. A stationery boiler remained working round the clock. My uncle was store clerk at the loco shed.

@@19665600 Pakistan procured two different models of Rail engines from ALCO. Firstly those were with front driver cabin of different horse powers. Later ALU model engines were purchased from the same company. India also started manufacturing Diesel engines at Varanasi with the assistance of the same American company.

Thanks for uploading such a nice video for Pakistan Railways Locomotive enthusiasts like myself. The RGE 20 and RGE 24 locos allotted to Quetta division should be upgraded. The cabin from inside is bad and pathetic. It should be fully computerised like that of ZCU 20 and ZCU 30 or the newly rehabilitated HGMU 30-R. Quetta division is neglected by PR.
