Absolutely fantastic video!! Seasons, conditions, equipment, rigging, baits, boat positioning, casting angles, retrieve, bottom comp, mindset, hook setting, etc, etc. Man, it doesn’t get better than this. Thanks Edwin, quality work buddy!

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul, he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. I will fear no evil, for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies, thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runnest over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever, Amen. Psalm 23.

Amazing the fish you can catch with it in the mid to late fall in tree tops constantly moving it . Catches quality fish. I use a white flapping craw. Extremely seedless presentation you can trigger a bite with.

Great tip about not going too fast and how that can affect your hook set because your boat is moving towards your bait sometimes faster than you reel up your slack making it more difficult to get a good hook set. I agree it works great in shallow water. I like tour tip about fishing it parallel so as not to lose contact with the bottom. Interesting how you describe the bites feeling like you picked up a leaf. Great analogy!

Love a swing head all year, so versatile. What I’ve been doing recently is rigging aZ-Man Pro CrawZ on it and throwing it as a replacement for a shakey head because the bait floats the hook, Texas rig because it’s very weedless and rolling it across bottom too. When I’m winding the craw stays down and when I stop it stands up into the defensive posture. It’s been killer.

Really glad you posted this video. I bought 4 swingheads a couple of years ago and have had no luck. From your video I gather it is more of a rock bank style bait, which I really haven't tried it on. So thanks for the tip, now maybe I can get a few bites and gain a little confidence in them.

  • @C.Adams82

I've spent alot of time throwing a swing head. It's great offshore and shallow but it needs to throw in consistent depths, doesn't work well on steep banks where there are consistent depth changes. On top of flat points that have rock is the ticket. I almost always throw a 3/4 no matter how shallow, it allows it to stay on the bottom and keep it moving. The faster it's moved the better they bite it. I also believe the plastic used is key. Baits that have a tight action seem to work better than a wide action. The gene larew hammer craw of Biffle bug is great. Zoom uv spees craw. Also a big worm works well

Great video Edwin! I can honestly tell you this is my favorite nighttime bait. Especially up shallow and the constant banging the bass can follow and attack ! I’ve caught a lot of big spots using a wobble head.

Love fishing the swing head. I sort of fish it like a square bill keeping contact with the rocks but not too fast. You will figure out the catence. I use the zoom zcraw for my body.

Love your videos man. I loose so many fish on a swinghead and i cant figure out why. I had to go to a heavy rod just to catch fish at all. Sharpen my hooks too. If they jump its a 50-50 chance your going to loose them.

That works unless you have a co-angler. Then you don’t give the person in the back of the boat nowhere to fish. I know because this has happens to me. I refuse to do that if I have someone in the back of my boat.
