A quick guide on how top players generally run the Skyros. While it's very similar to Loki in many ways, in most high level clans games I've been in, the Skyros is really only used to hold beacons down before tanks arrive. This is only work in Squad. With proper coordination but when i play in quick match. I capture the beacon using freedom skyro but my random team mates don't support. Try to hold it until tanks arrived but they don't come. Most of the time my efforts waste.
I actually battled you and 2 other VOX players on Sunday evening, first time ever ! It’s was on Schenzen map you got 1st place with a little over 7 million damage 7 kills . My team didn’t fair too well,but I did manage to get 1st and almost 3.5 million damage 4 kills all with a Fenrir that looks like a reindeer haha. Thanks Adrian have a great week

Something Tony said was that you have to be prepared to not score highly, as you don’t do damage most of the time, and you’re just running beacons. However it often gets you wins.
I actually thought of this build first time I saw Skyros concept, except I'll use sonic weapons. I call it "Gotta go fast" build. If you know, you know. Speed skill Skyros, sonic weapons, 3 anti controls and Ironhearth drone. For those who don't know, Ironhearth drone makes you immune from BLAST and FREEZE effects. So no lockdown, suppression, blast and freeze effect will affect this build.
If you don't have Skyros I would start building the counters mentioned in this video and working towards some of the modules. Weapons are really irrelevant as most times you are in the ball mode.
Great stream. Very nice content, Adrian. If you have time, try the Basilisk and lanter setup on your luchador. I tried the Basilisk with cinder and didn't like it much, but the corrosion with the blinding effect is very deadly against harpy, siren, luchador, anything with a reflector really. I've been doing really well with it. Anyone else experiencing the same?
I'm running Rime, Cryo and glacier. And sometimes I go into an abyss (not the map) either it's in the snowy mountains or grassy knoll. I've figured out today I have to destroy my robot in order to get back to the game
Question I know this is super late but does skyros's "ball mode" count as a physical shield? also what are your thoughts on weber? i think it may just work and i really dont understand what it does all that well, Please help!
No it's not a physical shield but rather resistance. When it's in ball mode it has increased resistance (since it can't fire) but when you go into weapons mode you lose all resistance and gain an Aegis Shield. Hope this makes sense.
You don't want to upgrade it when you don't have the Upgrade Event. Wait for the Upgrade Events and you can shave off 10 million on that upgrade. 25% less makes it 30 million but sometimes it's even less if we have the 40% off.
@@adrianchong I never upgrade anything unless the discount is applied. Can't really afford to. It is very slow going and it gets frustrating. Question for you. Do you think it is better to wait until your bots and weapons are fully upgraded before working on the modules and pilots or should they be upgraded at the same time.
@@Shifty1971 No I wouldn't wait until then. I think that level should really be set by the player and what they're more comfortable with. For example if my Baby Account was good where it's at with level 6 robots and level 9 weapons, the next thing I would do is work on modules. Pilots don't use silver to upgrade so you'll be upgrading both Pilots and Modules at the same time. For pilots you just play and it upgrades until you have to promote it to the next level but it can be levelled up with mostly playing. Hope this helps.

But now, you have me thinking that I need to start upgrading the modules on my other bots. It just pains me to spend that much silver on a module when it takes me so long to acquire it. Thinking I'm gonna have to find me a part time job so I can afford my WR addiction.😂😂😂
@@Shifty1971 I'm hoping to get that at some point. On my Baby Account which is free I actually finished maxing out two Antimatter Reactors and am working on the Plated Armours next. For most modules just getting it to level 3 can make a big difference. Anticontrol while I used it in this video at max level you can actually get away with it being level 1. It really depends on the build though.
Adrian , bcoz today is more chances to get titan in superchest event, what chances in % is to get titan in suoerchest. Also, bcoz izs not 50% rush superchest event, how many keyes is needed to open superchest with bronze chest without rush event? 🤓
Interesting set up and can see why it works well for beacons. Got lucky and got a Skyros but went down a slightly different route. Fitted 3 maxed fortifiers (all ready had, don't have any anti control) and went for sheild pilot skills. I like to come out if the ball and shoot things so the extra shielding helps quite a lot. Also have with health skill so when go back to ball get some quick healing. Might not be the best bot but I really enjoy playing it. Thanks for all your videos, great content.
Yeah I wouldn't run Fortifiers because the Skyros is the weakest in that mode. Keep in mind with all the Sirens and Harpys using Yang Lee and the bendy bullets you'll go down very fast. Take note though when you're going up against other Skyros. Most times they'll die when they're in the weapons mode.
Nothing wrong with that except if I'm running Khepri with "On Suppression Immune: Damage" chips, when you suppress me you're also boosting my damage +70% and in some cases +140%. How? Well… if I run the Misaki pilot and Anticontrol the Anticontrol will activate when you suppress triggering my two damage chips so that's +70% and when I activate my ability after that's another +70%. You've essentially at this point put yourself in a high risk situation and it won't take me long to bust through your Aegis Shield but it's even worse if I have Shield Breaker because then I don't need to break it.

I am always trying to avoid khepris since that Misaki pilot came but that's not an option when most of the players are running multiple of them..I mostly try to attack a camper or an unattended beacon..may be I need to switch over to Theseus because it can change the tide of the match even when the titans are being deployed...thanks Adrian..I am also trying sheildbreaker in few of my bots now and it's working pretty well..
I have seen even at my league (Gold 1). The skyros is rarely used. One could be the increased no. of f2p players at such a low league and even a low leveled skyros seems to be the worst legendary bot. Even though it is a fun build i would still prefer a loki as a beginner beacon runner.
Adrian if it's possible can you somehow talk to one of the creators and get this game out more not I don't mean let people find it I mean game wise what I mean is can you talk to the creators and see if they can somehow code this on Xbox and PS4 and 5
The regular Skyros and Freedom Skyros is basically the same thing. The Freedom Skyros will have 10% more durability since it's a Limited Edition version. Hope this helps!
I didn't show it because that wasn't the focus of the video. The video focuses on how to play the Skyros. This means I could pick any pilot and technically any weapon - knowing when to go for beacons or when to attack is more important. Hope this makes sense.

Step one. Spend an ungodly amount of money to try and win the new OP bot. Step 2. Spend more money until you get the new OP Shotguns. Step 3. Spend even MORE money to finally get the pilot. There ya go guys. It’s that easy to compete in War Robots 2022
This is how I know someone hasn't watched the video in full. You will notice that I said "most times you'll be in the ball mode". Technically speaking you could run this without weapons and do well. When I run Skyros I would say 90% of the time you're in ball mode so technically you don't really need any weapons. The pilot isn't really necessary either because the description of Skyros says that when in ball mode you have damage reduction of 85%. Meaning without the pilot other players can only do 15% damage to you unless they have the weapons mentioned in the video.

Tournaments use Hanger X where even a Gold League player will have the EXACT same hangar as a Champion League player. Same robots, same weapons, same levels. Ever wonder why those players never compete in tournaments? Because they don't want to get schooled :)

FYI, I watch ALL your videos 😉 My complaint is the pay to win aspect of the game, and how they CONSTANTLY keep adding new and OP bots, weapons, shields, drones, and battleships you can’t compete with. I’d LOVE to have the new bot and weapons, but it’s unrealistic for the average player to get without spending a ton of cash. I actually broke down and spent 30 bucks in the shop and can’t get the parts for the guns or bots. It takes WAY too long and costly to max out one bot. As soon as I get my weapons to MK2, they’re obsolete. Rip to all the players who focus on a specific weapon or bot and it gets nerfed into oblivion, and the chase begins on a new one.

The first year it was ever ranked it was #4. The next year it dropped to #8. I think I ranked it #4 again this year. It's an old bot along with the Ravana and Typhon not to mention the Mender and Demeter which I also mentioned as honourable mentions. Do you want to know why Top players run Fenrir? Not because it's "pay2win" but because they will run what is needed to win. One of my members asked me for help with his hangar because he was struggling to hit 10 million with his hangar which was fully maxed out. Maxed out bots (all meta btw because he had multiple Khepris), maxed out pilots, modules, drones etc. He couldn't hit 10 million. Want to know why? He didn't have the experience and knowledge on modules and drones. So even if I were to give both of you a maxed hangar you would still get destroyed by the top players. Getting back to that player I helped - he hit 10 million multiple times within days after I went through his modules and drones but it was a combination of that and also some of his setups which weren't working.
What about forgetting speed and going with fortifiers and health stuff? That's how I'm building up. Sure can take a lot of hits lol. I started a skros clan. 8ballers. Come find me and let's roll over the competition 😂 im steveonator1000 . Just imagine, a team of pure balls.
Fortifiers doesn't really make sense when you have harpoon weapons which can pierce through. Not only that, more players are running Shield Breaker whether it be because of pilots for their bots (like Harpy and Siren) or in the case of Raptor which has a drone that gives you Shield Breaker. Also don't forget we also have Unstable Conduit which gives a player Shield Breaker for I think 45 seconds.

What about playing skyros with armadillo drone with sonicweapons? A couple of beacons and a couple of kills and he will get lots of defensive points

Yes your damage will suffer quite a bit if you're running this bot. I would say my damage average probably dropped about 2 million or so haha.

incinerator also doing well against skyros i found out not as effective as the toxic but i still doing good damage

Also Weber is a sniper weapon. It fires one large powerful shot after charging tip for a sec. 800m, don’t recommend for skyros. Hope this helped out!

My guess is the new siren/harpy pilot is to counter skyros ,but skyros kinda counters siren/harpy due to speed and defense

Just upgrading 1 module from lvl 1 to lvl 2 is 40M silver. Having 3 maxed out modules of any kind is way out of my reach.

If you want your Skyros to survive a long time then I would go with Nebula. Nebula, Whiteout or Armadillo are good drones for Skyros. Hope this helps!

What about forgetting speed and going with fortifiers and health stuff?

Fortifiers doesn't really make sense when you have harpoon weapons which can pierce through. Not only that, more players are running Shield Breaker whether it be because of pilots for their bots (like Harpy and Siren) or in the case of Raptor which has a drone that gives you Shield Breaker. Also don't forget we also have Unstable Conduit which gives a player Shield Breaker for I think 45 seconds.
