Dimarco at LWB plays high up the pitch and playing Bastoni at LB in a back 4 wouldn't be much different than what he does in a back 3 at Inter. Not to mention he could also cover or completely switch to CB in the future if/when van Dijk leaves
Not sure he offers enough offensively to be a LB for us, but agree that he's a candidate for LCB. Getting him out of Inter would be hard though and a virtual impossibility in January.
Bastoni is easily the best U26 LCB in the world he's incredibly smart and has the work rate of two players, but he's quite literally the most vocal leader of "Italians must play in Italy" and has said numerous times he doesn't want to leave, he's on a long contract and even then, if he had one year or so he'd still be ridiculously expensive
i think the main issue is going to be fatigue. we're in four competitions again and we're already looking leggy. we're in an extended run now of playing fixtures every few days which is going to be pretty decisive. i don't really expect FSG to sanction any purchases. perhaps Nunez will leave. whether we'll see that money used, i'm doubtful.
Not picking Kerkez would be foolish at this point. Remember Slot was at AZ before, where he had Owen Wijndal. Milos Kerkez delivered on the promise that Wijndal held and far exceeded his predecessor. Slot knows exactly what he wants and that's why Kerkez is getting named. But if Liverpool don't pick up Kerkez, Arsenal should. It's a shame for Liverpool that Spurs already picked up Van de Ven.
cool idea for a vid but for an outlet like the athletic id expect a more likely transfer than a player for us at a club owned by liverpool's title rivals for the past few years, who are also in need of fullbacks.
Slot wanted to go with Hancko this summer but the club policy doesn't accepted it just because he doesn't fill in the criteria of being young. The liverpool board said he is to old...
They should get Hato in january to cover for Robertson as a leftback and to be Van Dijks successor in the future. In the summer they should go for a proper fullback with a profile similar to Trent Another DM in january to back up Gravenberch would be important as well. Maybe De Jong on loan, because Bajcetic will return in the summer. And they need a good finisher in the summer.
Since Slot doesn't seem to fully trust Endo or Morton Liverpool have been overly reliant on Gravenberch this season. So to fight for all trophies they would need someone to come in and challenge Ryan for that spot in january. Injury or dip in form would likely weaken the team if nothing changes
The problem is that he's integral to the way we play with his ability to receive under pressure, turn and carry and then pass. An underrated part of his game is his aerial prowess, which dissuades teams from going that route. This is a very unique profile and it would be hard enough to find another player even remotely similar, much less a) good enough to play instead of Grav, and b) be willing to sit on the bench behind him. This is not to say we should accept that he's irreplaceable and pray nothing happens to him while overplaying him, but it's a very difficult problem to solve. Let's hope our recruitment team has ideas about what to do here, because I don't.
Lille has second best goal conceding record begind PSG in Ligue 1.They are standing just in Konockout qualification stage at champion league table.Alexsandro Riberio would be perfect rotational player for Van dik.If we sign him in summer he would be joining in same age as Van dik joined Us in 2018.
Hartman would actually be a great fit, he is the one player from Slots Feyenoord that could probably make the transition to PL because of his intensity. But yeah he is only now coming back after almost a year out, so not an option now.
Hartman's out of contract on 2026 so could be picked up cheap and eased in if we keep robbo. Quinton Timber is out of contract in 2026 and was great for Slot and could replace Elliot if we sold him.
Quincy Hartman is absoute gold if he can get back to his former best. Not only extremely good and no doubt my old Feyenoord coach wil want him at Liverpool, but Hartman is very smart, very nice and very good with media and for sure he would fit in at Liverpool also as a player from the city all the way trough the ranks. There are a few video's of him on YT, look it up, he's really good and certainly at Slotball (he is a bout to play his first minutes for Feyenoord again)
Milos kerkez is the LB we should be after. We also need a CB and desperately need cover for gravenberch before we burn him out as slot clearly doesn't rate endo. Even if we brought bajcetic back from his loan. If we can get them in this month we win the league and possibly the champions league, if we don't we're going to struggle in the run in just like last season
If you start off your sensible transfer video suggesting the club take three senior left backs into the back end of the season it seems like you've not fully grasped what sensible means
Why is Rayan Aït-Nouri always overlooked? The guy is 23 and he's been an elite LB for Wolves, integral to their defense and in possession since he was 19. He's the best option for us by miles imo. The rest of the conversation is very much contract dependant. I hear the argument that VVD is so resilient and - if he extends - it might be worth getting a 4th RCB, but Id rather keep that space free to rotate between Joe/Konate and allow Quansah time to develop (we all saw a really good CB in him this time last year) and therefore to make signing the long term VVD successor the priority. In which case, Jorrel Hato is surely the best answer. Then, if worst comes to the worst and Konate/Gomez and Quansah are all out simultaneously, it wouldnt be the end of the world if one of VVD or Hato have to play at RCB. A CDM is probably the third position to look at regardless of contracts. I love Endo and definitely in favour of keeping him around, but someone who can ease the pressure on Gravenberch would be good. Looks like Zubimendi is off to Arsenal, but we have been linked to Tchouemeni who doesn't have Grav's skill on the ball but is a good passer and excellent at CB too. Hell, that may even address the CB situation discussed in the paragraph above. Then there are the Mo and Trent contracts. Personally, im haopy for Bradley to be given the starting booth. Which makes finding a deputy hard. There dont seem to be any RBs coming through the academy so we might (for the first time since Nathaniel Clyne!) have to look in the market. Tricky to find someone wholl happily deputise 21-year old Bradley. Salah is obviously a tricky one. Kudus, Kubo, Conceiçao... Not many left footed right wingers who'd be able to come in and replace Mo. We'll have to watch that space
Ait nouri would probably cost a ton more than liverpool would be willing to spend, i reckon at least 50 mil. i think cdm is a bigger issue although if gravenberch continues as he does it almost becomes a non issue with endo backing him up. and then with the rb situation, assuming trent leaves (which i dont think would be a very smart decision for him and not just from the loyalty perspective) then the most likely scenario would be a new rb comes in to start with bradley deputising because although he is actually really good (chelsea and madrid games alone made that clear) as you say no one would deputise for a 21 year old with relatively no experience, especially as a starter
@pingusbabyyy451 I think we'd be looking at that sort of money for Kerkez or Robinson or any of the other names (bar Hartman). I think Aït-Nouri would be worth £50m personally. He's absolute class. And the club have plenty of PSR room and should have plenty of money after a quiet summer. Suppose it all depends on those bloody contracts
I think Aït-Nouri is usually not in the conversation for Liverpool left back, because he isn't great defensively. Yes, I know Trent isn't either and Robbo hasn't been good in defence last season and this season, but can we afford ourselves to continue forward with two fullbacks that can be liabilities defensively? He's more suited as left wingback rather than conventional fullback and like I said, although great in possession, he will cost us when we defend. If Trent stays which I hope is the case, I would rather we have more defensively solid left back that is still good in possession, maybe crossover of LB/CB, someone like Hincapie or Hato, or if we can spend 60+ mil on LB, then Lewis Hall from Newcastle would be great option. It's unlikely we can pull this off, it's difficult to deal with Newcastle, but these 3 would be my options if Trent is the right back. If we have Trent + Aït-Nouri or Gutierrez on both flangs, we are basically murdering our center backs.
@@Vladi2102 I think he does a job defensively, he's better than TAA . Re. Hato or Hincape, agreed, I would like one of them because they would offer an option LCB or LB . But, long term, I don't want to follow Arteta and Pep down this "centre-back-heavy back 5" route. Arsenal are insipidly boring because they basically play 4 centre backs behind Merino/Partay/Rice, all of whom also profile like centre backs.
@ I agree with the point about Arsenal/City model with 4 center backs playing in the backline, but 3 should be ok especially when you have Trent as RB who is one of the most creative fullbacks ever. And don't get me wrong about Aït-Nouri, I would happily take him, I'm just not sure he will improve us defensively which should be the aim. He is great going forward though, but Robbo isn't that bad either (in attack).
we need - Starting LB and send Robbo back to Hull city - Back up RB (or starter if trent leaves) - CB for depth - Send Nunez to Saudi Arabia and sign a striker with an ounce of composure
Good analysis….but, suggestion, reduce the amount of arms waving around. Quite distracting😀 Other thoughts: - if TAA is to leave in the summer, leaving Conor Bradley at RB (young, talented, but inexperienced and won’t be able to play a full 50+ game season next year), will definitely need a back up RB . More pressing an issue than buying a 3rd LB. Yes, Gomez can play at RB, but not great. And no one particular is yet showing promise as a RB from the Reserves. - no Prem club will sell their starting LBs in January! - Fenway are the MoneyBall guys, they won’t spend over the odds in January …esp for a player they don’t immediately need- I suspect they’ll save their money (and Profit Sustainability headroom) until the summer when will know where they’re at with TAA, VVD and Salah. …. depending which of those leaves, that’s where the big holes will need to be filled, and with big $$
Miguel Gutierrez would be sensible if he wasn’t in a City club group. There’s no way City would let him go to Liverpool before City, especially as they are lacking at LB.
IMO if robertson wasnt really that bad Yes he aged and next season gonna be tough for him But if we talked about immideate upgrade, i think a depth/upgrade in the middle or no 9 is better Diaz as good as he is, wasnt really a CF I kinda gave up on nunez ever becoming star at this point hopefully he will turn around
Has attitude, workrate and defensive issues. Class player on his day, but the bar for Liverpool is high and consistency is a requirement. He's also 27, so realistically 2-3 years left in his prime and no sell-on value. Put together, it's just not the profile Liverpool sign.
According to certain journalists, we should be happy with FSG woth no signings... we're 1 or 2 injuries (salah, van dijk, gravenberch...) from having serious weak points in the forst xi
Okay, so all we need is a VVD, Salah and Gravenberch clone.... Mate, every team is fucked if their best players get injured... You can't just have a VVD replacement in the back pocket...
First, I want all 3 players out of contract to stay. Salah is irreplaceable, Van Dijk is the best CB in the world and TAA has a unique profile and is a game changer. But, if they should leave, there are options. On the right, Kimmich is out of contract too and like TAA he's a right back with an amazing talent with the ball, he can play in the midfield too and his experience and character would be a good thing. And Liverpool is already talking with him, it would be a good choice to have Kimmich + Bradley on the right. For Van Dijk, noone can really replace him but Diomande, Zabarnyi, Milenkovic, Ignacio are good options. As for Salah, the only right wingers that can reach a level close to his are unobtainable : Saka, Yamal, Kulusevski, Olise, Neto or Güler. Mbeumo and Rodrygo may be options that we can get though. On the left, Alphonso Davies is out of contract aswell and the club is talking to him already. Still young and exceptionnal upfront, his defensive capability isn't the best but getting him on a free would be huge. Other than that, Robinson and Kerkez mentioned in the video are 2 good options. I love Robertson, he gives 110% all the time and offensively he's still great but his defense hasn't been great lately. But it's not an emergency, he's still very good. As for Tsimikas, he is a very good backup but I don't hink he's good enough to be our number 1 LB. But the big thing we lack is a real striker. Nuñez has had 2 years and a half in the club now, I don't think his finishing and flair will improve much now. I like him, he always gives everything he's got, and as a sub to press intensely in the late game he's a good option, but not good enough to be our starting striker. Luis Diaz has done good things as a false 9 but I think we'd work better with a true striker. Same goes for Jota, he's very good but not a true striker. We need a lethal striker good in spaces to catch long balls from Trent or MacAllister and who's good in the air to catch the ball and score from Robertson and TAA's crosses and corners. The perfect striker would be Harry Kane, but since it's near impossible (except if for some reason he wasn't happy in Germany and wanted back in England) there are great players that would fit very well. Isak is the obvious choice, the guy is incredible with ball, good in the air, can dribble, is very good in tight spaces, and his finishing is great. But I don't think Newcastle would be open to selling him, or it would cost 150m so I don't see it happening with 3 years left in his contract. Victor Gyokeres would be another very good option. He is for sure available, he has done everything he could do in Portugal, I think he'll want to join a top 4 league club playing the UCL. He's cost a lot but I think his profile would work very well for us, he's not just a targetman, he's really good with the ball. Not as much as Isak but good enough to be our striker I think. Sesko would also be a good choice. I know the club is talking with Thuram aswell, it would work out great. Lautaro Martinez would be great too. And it seems that Stefanos Tsimas from Nüremberg could sign very soon. I've never seen him play but a young striker with high potential, I hope he's a good fit. But I trust our scouting team, we have very few disappointments with our recruits in the laft few years. We can never know what will happen with the development of a player but there have been no real mistakes recently. And I really hope that we don't sell Ben Doak. I know several clubs have made offers around 30m for him but I wish for him to finish his loan at Middlesbrough and be part of the first team next year, he has so much talent. Who knows, there's a chance he becomes Salah's successor on the right.
Need a top class LB. Robertson's legs have gone along with his in game judgment. Need a top striker to replace Nunez. Need a top class CB to replace VVD long term and rotate with Konate. Quansah/Gomez just not good enough.
No chance Huijsen goes to Liverpool as an understudy. He's already one of the best CB's in the league and starts almost everywhere. They also paid 15m for him so why would they sell for less than VVD type money?

i think the main issue is going to be fatigue. we're in four competitions again and we're already looking leggy. we're in an extended run now of playing fixtures every few days which is going to be pretty decisive. i don't really expect FSG to sanction any purchases. perhaps Nunez will leave. whether we'll see that money used, i'm doubtful.
Very sensible for real
Cuz we desperately need a new LB
I'm surprised that Nico Schlotterbeck wasn't mentioned.
Far too slow
Dean, Hato, Gutierrez are good shouts. Doubt F$G will fund either though. But shouldn't we be looking at back-up for Gravenberch too?
great video, could use just a tiny bit more straightjacket though
That's a really solid team to be fair
Love the new one person vids
Richard Hughes prob can’t even close a free transfer
Might be worth showing how well those players have played again top Premier league opposition before hailing them as players to buy.
Love It Jon La
Would love to see a 'yeet a ton of money at' series for the next transfer window
cool idea for a vid but for an outlet like the athletic id expect a more likely transfer than a player for us at a club owned by liverpool's title rivals for the past few years, who are also in need of fullbacks.
Prefer to see VVD, TAA and Salah sign new contracts rather than transfers
Slot wanted to go with Hancko this summer but the club policy doesn't accepted it just because he doesn't fill in the criteria of being young. The liverpool board said he is to old...
Pleaee do more of this content for Liverpool
It would be great if these transfer also involve fan perspective as well
They should get Hato in january to cover for Robertson as a leftback and to be Van Dijks successor in the future. In the summer they should go for a proper fullback with a profile similar to Trent
Another DM in january to back up Gravenberch would be important as well.
Looking great jon
Great video.
great video
What about Schlotterbeck Who can play LB and LCB longer term?
Does anyone know what app is used for the tactics?
Endo is also good as CB too.. if there is no other option
Sad that Robbo is falling off rather than leaving gracefully. Always a legend.
What do u guys think about Jorrel Hato as a depth option for CB/LB?
We like making our seasons difficult for no reason. Sometimes I even wonder how Kloop was able to win trophies
Jon's eyes are beautiful.
Hartman would actually be a great fit, he is the one player from Slots Feyenoord that could probably make the transition to PL because of his intensity. But yeah he is only now coming back after almost a year out, so not an option now.
Hancko is also really really good and showed he can do the prem to an extent with his national team. Shame about his age.
What about the centre forward problem? Nunez doesn't look like he could hit a barn door and it seems that Jota picked up a knock again.
Imagine a hincapie for Liverpool and a clinical striker since Darwin might leave
or a Bastoni
Hincapie isnt very good....
Most sensible thing for liverpool will be to roll out three new contracts for Mo, Van Dijk and Trent
I’d love for someone else thoughts on cancelo I think he’d work so well for a short time if we couldn’t get our first choices for LB
A sensible transfer fit for Liverpool will be Fran García as left back and Takefusa Kubo as right winger while Salah can depart in January 2026.
He is great going forward though, but Robbo isn't that bad either (in attack).
we need
- Starting LB and send Robbo back to Hull city
- Back up RB (or starter if trent leaves)
- CB for depth
- Send Nunez to Saudi Arabia and sign a striker with an ounce of composure
FSG bid for players they know won't sign . Reds should sign a quality versatile defender & midfielder this window .
Good analysis….but, suggestion, reduce the amount of arms waving around. Quite distracting😀
Other thoughts:
- if TAA is to leave in the summer, leaving Conor Bradley at RB (young, talented, but inexperienced and won’t be able to play a full 50+ game season next year), will definitely need a back up RB .
It’s just a shame that FSG won’t do any of those things.
Hartmann is the man to get as hes out of co tract in 2026 aswell as his teammate Quinten Timber, who is excellent.
Another RCB? Not sure the logic given really holds up… Good vid tho! 🤝🏾
Where do I get that sweatshirt?

Off to play FC 25 with some new options...
I would like to see Liverpool sign Milos Kerkez. He is only 21 and has been one of the best left backs in the Premier Leauge. Very talented player.
What about mid and front?
IMO if robertson wasnt really that bad
Yes he aged and next season gonna be tough for him
But if we talked about immideate upgrade, i think a depth/upgrade in the middle or no 9 is better
Diaz as good as he is, wasnt really a CF
I kinda gave up on nunez ever becoming star at this point hopefully he will turn around
M salisu is very good cb option too
Gutierrez is at Girona who are owned by the City group… I don’t think they’d sell to us
i miss when i was tapped in enough to know these players from a deep fm save haha
I really think Liverpool should try to push for Theo Hernandez.
Even though he's crazy talented, he still has tendency to lose focus. He's kinda like Trent
Nobody thinks that, kid…also, everyone is an injury away from issues. As Rodri proved
Okay, so all we need is a VVD, Salah and Gravenberch clone.... Mate, every team is fucked if their best players get injured... You can't just have a VVD replacement in the back pocket...
I feel like a real CF to replace nunez would be huge
You guys should do a video on building the perfect team for a certain league or with a certain budget or something I feel like that would be cool
Or with a certain style of play and how the team would operate
What about Goncalo Inacio?
If he was world class big teams would have gotten him already
Good options,
Unfortunately Richard Hughes and FSG go for opportunistic (cheap) signings
I miss the old format for sensible transfers.
