We did this at our old house and ended up with cats making babies and then there was like 4 litters of cats and turned into a little kitty ghetto of tote houses. So be prepared 😆

Small suggestion: maybe prop open the door for a few days until they get used to it being a good place to keep warm.

Great litter box
An organization just spent a year save almost 100 cats from the area and finding them homes! we have no need for our little box anymore so it prob wont be around anymore but thank you so much! It was great while it lasted!

Omg I can't believe I stumbled upon the exact answer I was looking for!!! I made an outdoor shelter for a stray thats been hanging around and I was wondering if I could install one of those pet doors on it!! Unfortunately I made my entrance on the short side and it has the grooves or whatever they're called but I'll try to make it work. Thanks again!!

I have seen people use a styrofoam cooler for thr inner part. That provides the insulation needed to keep them warm. Also use straw inside.

Great idea... inside of stuffing towels in it spray some GREAT STUFF on the sides to insulate and hold the inner tote good

On the really cold nights you can put boiling water in a water bottle, cover w an old sock and wrap in an old sweater and place in box. Switch around 8 hrs.

should add straw ,not hay, bedding as blankets and anything fabric gets wet and steals warmth from the cats
oh good to know!!! We had a agency come and they got almost 100 cats! We dont see them anymore obv. but if we need the little house again I will know what to do! and it makes total sense!!
What about a vent? Did you get any bunnies or squirrels instead of cats?
we didnt want the weather to get it but the door has space enough to allow plenty of air. There has been evidence of a squirrel or chipmunk
Should set up camera near it see what happens 🤷 we had a cool cat that wandered into our apartments and stayed here then one day was just gone 🤷 prob somewhere in my videos way back

TNR Trap Neuter Release. You're going to wind up with kittens. I have a male feral who's fed and watered outside. I wonder if he'll bring his girlfriend along. Hope not...

The container isn't air tight and the door has a air space along all the sides =)
