Giant squash is just a type of crop. the GIANT plant mutations are totally different and they need space to grow because they will take over a 3x3 plot when they mutate.

Darn, finishing the main story kinda puts a damper on games for me. I loved Rune Factory 4 because the arcs were so long I could do most things and be a millionaire before before arc 3. Plus characters have their own stories and it breathes life into the town.
I had a thought...for the fall mutations. Do they specifically need to be planted at the beach during fall or can you plant them in Herbstburg since it's perpetually fall?
Giant squash = pumpkin + fall, so it can be planted in Herbstburg because it's always fall there, Hearts of the earth = turnip + summer, you can plant it in Lilikala without summer fertilizer.
So many questions... Would you increase the chances of mutation by using summer fertilizer because it's summer type land, or fall fertilizer because it's that season?

I didn't pumpkin in the orange place- hersbergh- all them mutated using fall fert.

I grew the heart of the earth in latency in the winter ... it still mutated - I used basic fertilizer too.
I bought the upgrade and it's not there anymore. I have been playing for hours and still no upgrade still 100 ???
