    Here's a nice improvised weapon that is used by 1% bikers... Get yourself a fairly heavy padlock and a common cotton bandana... String the bandana through the shackle.. now you can swing the lock like a blackjack! .. you can keep the lock in your back pocket with the bandana through it.. grab both ends of the bandana pull the lock out and swing... If you're stopped you can always pull one into the bandana it will slip out on the lock and you will have a padlock in your back pocket completely legal..

    Great stuff. I have done door security and this is very good stuff. I have done a lot of martial arts and they get really flashy and they want to demonstrate that they know kali or whatever to the N-th degree. But this is just what you need without all that, just what you need to keep yourself safe. Not complicated, just what works. Thanks!

    Every bit of info you said and demonstrated is on point accurate.
    I've been doing Taekwondo for 8 years and it's completely reversed on what you now just demonstrated.
    Any chance of demonstration of kicks in close quarters in self defense.

    Thanks Matt! Yeah, it's getting crazy out there. Your process helps resolve that issue of deciding what YOUR trigger point is, whereby you launch an attack. Looks like with hands up and warning to back up (perhaps as you step to the side), and they still press, that can be the point. On the step to the side, I can envision some (thinking panhandler types) countering by moving in front of you as soon as you side step. Or blocking your path as you are walking and minding your own business. Situational awarness seems to be under-rated, perhaps because you usually don't find out what you avoided. Yesterday we were leaving a strip mall (after using an ATM that was perhaps 75' from street/sidewalk) and noticed someone yelling and carrying on. Through the shrubbery I could see a man walking down the sidewalk, gesticulating and yelling at nobody. (My wife works in mental health, so she spots these people quickly). So, instead of using the parking lot exit that would have put my car right in the path of this guy's journey, I went to a different exit that put me well "upstream" of his path and able to left turn and be on opposite side of a 4 lane busy road from him. No idea what I missed, but I could easily envision him approaching the passenger side of the car as I was stuck waiting to pull out into traffic. Hard to fathom why we let people like this wander the streets. Feels like it is about time to start wearing kevlar or getting the car armored. Every dweeb now seems to have a gun. Two incidents in the PNW the past few weeks with road rage leading to death. One guy somehow enraged a couple of 19 YO's. Thought it was done, he went on his way. They caught up to him at next light, and shot at him. Severed his spine, now paralyzed from waist down. Other was on highway from OR coast to Portland. Couple of guys get PO'd at older couple. Finally pass, and seems it is over. However they pull over a couple miles down the road and wait with guns. Not sure if/why driver of other car got out, but he ended up shot too. Amazing senselessness. Killing over getting butt-hurt re some road situation.

    My son is 3rd degree black belt tung soo Doo .. his teacher & friend Sid was out of state doing some training exhibitions.. so he did not have his Pew pew with him ... He was at a gas station pumping gas when he saw three guys closing in on him. With obvious bad intentions! (Situational awareness) .. he realized that he had his short 2 ft ecrima stick .. so he grabbed it and started to make lots of spinning martial arts motions with it... It was enough to intimidate the three guys and they walked away avoiding a confrontation... Most likely they went on to look for more weaker innocent prey

    Hi Matt, thanks for the good info today. Had to get the allergy shots, sorry i couldn't make class. The flinch block i like, because with the hands opened more area is covered than a closed fist, plus with hands opened grabbing the aggressor is easier accomplished.. Also when the aggressor attacks, keeping the arms bent as you teach, then if the person grabs your arms to pull you in, it makes it more difficult for the subject. The arms bent are like shock absorbers but still able to prevent the aggressor from moving in for the attack. Where if the elbows are locked, getting pulled in is easier by the aggressor. Thanks for teaching what i didn't have knowledge of. Hope to see you tomorrow. Stay safe. God bless. Dpug.

    On that first one-- FAR too much imporantance is attacked to the damn phone--- TURN THe FREAKING THING OFF til you get where it's SAFE to use it- and that is NOT in your car driving or walking around in areas where you need to see what's going on-- you don't NEED that freaking thin on all the time-- there is NOTHING so important as to give your life because you couldn't turn the damn phone off and check and call them back LATER.. Things worked JUST FINE when phones were on poles and we had to pay to dial-- people called when they could-- safely. I drove a tow truck in California for a while- and 77% of the accidents I worked-- at least ONE of them was using a freakin phone while driving. STUPID.. When you get in the car- if you're driving- TURN IT OFF til you get where you're going.

    • @pasquinilli
      @pasquinilli  2 года назад +5

      The cane works with thrusts and very little strength. Simply putting the cane between you and the attacker with both of your hands on the cane and using your body to move the cane instead of your hands. I’ll make you a video showing those moves in more detail.
