Thank you for promoting natural tennessee walker gaits 🙏🏻 thank you for not brinning up abusive ”big lick”- gait or abusive tools! These are wonderful horses as they are and do not need invasive tools or soring in their feet. They are perfect just the way they are 💛🐎
RIGHT ON!
Except they were at Thorsport. They are guilty of terrible soring practices. I found videos on RUclips easily of Thorsports illegal practices & of the woman describing these beautiful horses in this video(her husband & her are the owners) admitting to soring practices in their establishment.
Amen…my late TWH/SSH mare got me to understand that horrible practice. I never did research on it until I purchased her. Thank goodness her former owner was very knowledgeable and She was always without shoes and had fabulous feet.
Big lick is a disgrace.
Big lick is a term for soring which has been HIGHLY illegal for over 50 years. What you see today is modern padded performance. Every horse in the show ring has been USDA inspected and approved with over 95% compliance rate. In an inspection, they check for illegal substances as well as shoeing and action device compliance. The pads are only 3-5 lbs, which is less than 1% of a 1,000 lb animal's body weight. The chains are only 6 oz. Please do research before saying what everyone else has.
Now those are Tennessee Walkers. Beautiful.
Had to put my walker down this past summer he was 32 years old. He never put his foot wrong we rode the mountains and valleys crossed rivers and streams, I’ve had horses all my life if you’re lucky you get a horse like that once maybe twice in a life time.
I'm so sorry for your loss Rod, it is true, those special horses need to be cherished!
Wow! I'm so sorry. He certainly lived a very long time. It's just like losing a member of our family. Heartbreaking. I hope you are able to find another who you can love and give a good life to. Hang in there, I know it's very difficult.
Everyone this is what a actual Tennessee Walking horse moves like at most. The big licks show type of movement is not natural for the breed (training or not)
❤️
Big lick is 🤴
I had a Tennessee Walker when I was younger as a teenager and her name was Dancer. She was medium chestnut color with a star on her forehead. She was beautiful. Miss her bunches. ♥️
What a beautiful sight. This is so natural no soring or stacks or torture makes my blood boil the way they are abused today. We must be there voice.
their* 🤭
@@charlotte6154 whoops that's what I meant.
@@helenpoyner9475 lol ik
Hate to tell ya, but those horses ARE NOT natural! You can get your horse timed up, you can have a horse with natural head shake, but not step that big and pretty without a little help from soring. Don't let them b s you.
I just found out about this. How is this legal
They r purely wonderful. My cousin. Betty Faye Sain was the first woman and youngest owner, trainer, n rider to win the Celebration National Walking horse show n 1966. I was 5 years old and got to go Shakers Shocker 2 months after his win. I have been hooked on walkers ever since. I rehabilitate abused walkers that no one wants to mess with because they have bad attitudes. Everyone of them learned how to trust humans again and are all with good families now. Its a shame that ignorant people think that the big lick is beautiful. But if you have ever watched their natural gait it is the most fluid beautiful gait a horse can have.
where are you located? That's exactly what I'm looking for.
Hi, I had a filly that was sired by Genius Boy Pride. If I'm correct, I am under the understanding that his dam was by Shakers Shocker and at the time back in the early 90's or so she was the top producing dam in the breed. He also had a brother that a women in Michigan owned. Where is your farm? I would like to contact you.
Well done we need more people like you

I think you have the wrong character, Mr. Matthews
Comrade Acerbus better?
Comrade Acerbus better?
You should have stopped after your first paragraph. Your second paragraph is totally incorrect. Jackie McConnell never trained at ThorSport. ThorSport is located in Murfreesboro which is middle Tennessee. Jackie McConnell's barn was in West Tennessee half the state away. Like so many Internet Dunces you've combined things you've read but failed to comprehend and then posted it as a warning to other geniuses who have never been in a Walking Horse barn much less ever ridden one. In the process you have maligned ThorSport farm and the Walking Horse breed. I hope you are proud of yourself.
I adopted a retired MNPD horse, Tennessee Walker…. I love him so much, just amazed to watch him walk and run. He is retired.. meaning I will never put a saddle on him and ride. Such a wonderful Warrior Horse.
My Tennessee walker. (Big Red). 17 Hands. I had to stand on a box to get in the saddle on his back. It was a long drop. If I fell of. Of course. I loved him!!!!
Now this is what should be the highest class show horse. No stacks, chains, or soring. Just calmly and smoothly riding. You did an amazing job!♥️
But I would be cautious of ThorSport however. It was a Big Lick barn. Whose trainer Jackie McConnell viciously beat and sored horses. And the owner did nothing about it. Just be careful.
I absolutely love my Walkers! They're an amazing breed and are extremely gentle. Even though they are classified as "warm-blooded," most people would define them as "cold-blooded" due to how calm they are.
If you're looking for a trail horse....start with one's that DONT have WGC written all over their pedigree.
Best advice I have been given in the horse game from a legend in the real walking horse world where they ride the Cadillac they bred, at its natural gait. No need to mess with perfection.
These horse's kick-ass in a walk, trot, run flat race.
My favorite breed. Flashy and smart. My show horse was naturally gained. We were Grand Champions at Scottsdale WestWorld 2007
The breed is beautiful but blows a lot of energy to simply walk. It’s cool to see the murmuration of starlings starting at 2:34.
They really don’t use a lot of energy to walk. Mine can go all day and that’s not even up to his gait. They have great endurance. They can outpace stock horses for sure on a trail.
I had a Andalusian cross that used his head to propel his gait like you see here. People said "what's he doing?" But he seemed to be using his whole body to walk. He was a great horse in so many ways.
They are wonderful horses, so great to ride. Would be my choice over my quarter horses for trail riding any day.
They are so much fun to ride! ☺
Tennessee Walkers are awesome! It's the only way I can continue to ride following spinal fusion surgery. Before surgery I couldn't ride my quarter horse longer then 1 hour or I'd be in excruciating agony. I could glide along on my TW for several hour's & feel great afterwards. Post surgery, I can only ride my TW.
So glad to hear you are still able to ride! 💜 They are a wonderful breed.

ThankQ! And yes, They most certainly are. They are a very easy going breed , very loveable.
Great video. Thank you Allison Thorson. Good luck this show season.
Thank you. l love the fact that l was actually able to see the different gaits!
I've been watching alot of the Friesian Horses youtube channel, and I got so used to the Fresian "cycling" gait, that watching these Walker horses move is hilarious 😅
Elvis and Prysilla ( sp.?) were/ are great advocates for the breed, fun fact…
Walkers have such beautiful long tails omg
Often artificial
My walker dont lol his is short and thin😂
A lot do, some dont.
Horse's are Beautiful animals !
I agree!
Here because of red dead redemption 2
I haven't ever played it, but I've heard its a really fun game!
Great video
This is a very nice video of the twh. Liked it a lot.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
I have one. It's Mahogany Bay.😄
I love my cremollo walker. Just a dream horse to see and ride. Couldnt get a better horse.
Sickening!! How u all don't feel for these horse that u buy. I hope u get it taken away from u!!!
@@porrasjoelle8225 how do I not feel for my horse? Why should he be taken away?
Taken away from being in its natural state of gaits?
Taken away from being in its natural state of gaits?
I didn’t realize the bobbing head was natural for them.
My TWH is my best friend. Best horse ever.
I just got my Walker today bringing her home in a month
Cool video
Thank you!
I have a Tennessee walker named Madonna she’s beautiful and very loving. I’ve always rode quarter horses and am having a hard time matching my rhythm with hers. 💜🐴
Going from non gaited to gaited can certainly be a transition! Madonna sounds like a sweetheart. When you are having trouble matching up with her, do you feel like she is going in and out of gait?
My horse is a walker but he doesn’t move his head like that
Kayla Brown not all do 😄 there are differenses in the breed and not all are exactly as the breed ”should” be. That is normal!
it usually means that you don't have him in time
There's nothing better on planet earth
That is true
cool! They have long tails!
We have 4 TWH's. They have tremendous temperament. We use them for equine therapy.
Wow! This is good! I am getting my first horse and it’s a Tennessee walking horse
Congratulations! How exciting!
,I have Walkers my big guy is the Best, Dudes Rocket, out of Rocket Lullaby WGC. My other Walker, is Passion at the Ritz, out of He's putting on the Ritz, wonderful Breeds
Very cool!
I love the North American breeds, they are so underrated by the rest of the world
I wish had Money get my granddaughter involved in this World!🌍
A lot of young riders get their start by volunteering at a local stable so they can start learning about horses. 🙂
Wow
My Tennessee walker mare-
Running walk can be so fast you feel low control due to a kind of hydroplaning effect that’s hard to get engaged with until you put in the hours first. So not a good stable horse. For a person who plans to learn how to connect with the gait. It is different
Why the big lick..WHY..
i think i am just not a human for gaited horses ^^
It is wonderful to celebrate the breed for it's natural wonders. They are 'enough' without the Big Lick lover's cruel interventions!
Get to ride good Quarter or Paint Horse , with soft gaites , it can work and go the whole day ...the, just to do , they still doing ....by Ranch & Cowboy Work....Show Horses
horse
Awww I see we are the good ones the others are the big lick.... then please do anything about it....
big lick is banned
Bullshit - this is a lie - still going on youtube is full of competitons in 2023 don't fool me around there are two sides and I hate being bamboozled very unkind MADDIE done an over @@maddie.1824
Totally missed the rest of their gaits..
Horrible torture methods.
Not including the cops horse, but the other ones with that big flat footed, head shaking stride are sored! They are not natural. I've been in walking for several years now and I know the difference. there is big difference between completely natural and sored. You guys are full of crap. Those horses in the arena are NOT natural . And don't even try to say that I don't know what I'm talking about.
These horses were not sored. Yes, I disagree with soring. I have owned walking horses for 30yrs so I know what it looks like. This is natural movement of the WH breed.
@@imyourhuckleberry7069 you can deny it til the cows come home, those 2 horses demonstrating in the arena ( the grey and the bay) with a big head shaking walk ARE NOT NATURAL. Either you don't know any better, because you are lied to, or you lie yourself. I've been in the industry at big barn. I know it for a fact. I will give you a clue. Go look at the show horses in the barn, including the flat shod horses. If their legs are wrapped all the way down over the pasterns, they are being sored. They will lie about it and say oh no, that's just nice oil to keep the skin nice and smooth because the crazy inspection people will fail your horse if one hair is out of place. They are full of crap. I have been told by a well known trainer how they do it.
I'll take it that we can agree to disagree lol
@@lisabaker9036 I can understand your frustration. In fact I admire it. But I'm going to specifically talk about the bay horse, he would be stepping much higher if he was sored. The head shake is a trait of the breed. I do know even flat Shod horses can be sored as well, but this specific horse has a low step. Meaning he wasn't sored.
@@staceyevans2315 ok, that's fine. I do have a walker that moves realy well with head shake. But to open up his stride more would take a little more effort on my part. Long foot at the correct angle and a heavy shoe might do it. But I will just settle for what I have as I do not show him.
Very “twee” reference to the horrendous business of big lick. Going to somewhere that doesn’t stop it was a terrible choice.
You have a platform to be a lot more forceful about this disgusting practice.
big lick is banned
Omg ! That looks so unnatural and cruel, I can't even watch, it's to upsetting 😢
What these people do to these horses to make them lift there hoves up hi is disgusting
And in this video there was no high stepping as in soring method. Like I mentioned before, this is natural movement.
Did you mean these specific people or other people in the TWH show world?
Put down a lot of korean and world's stock. And d'ont raise it up. This is right in Jesus Christ~! 🐢........
