Hey! All the best for the surgery, sending lots of love and prayers your way and wishing you a smooth recovery ❤️ keep trusting that God will protect you 🙏🏾
@@vfigs_11 I will do, I’m currently editing a video as we speak so if all goes well it’ll be out tomorrow night🤞🏾I’ll be sharing more about my experience from the first few days following the surgery so hopefully that’ll be useful for you as you do your preparations
Wow, congrats on losing 40lbs already - you go girl!! 👏🏾 I hope the rest of the journey is a smooth one and can't wait to follow your journey. Thank you! ❤️
I’m 2 appointments away from scheduling surgery for the gastric sleeve. I’m so excited! For my girlies with anemia, my surgeon recommended the sleeve over the bypass. He says I would have a hard time absorbing iron after the bypass. So talk to your doctor about that! Thanks for the video ❤️❤️
I have severe anemia, I've had a blood transfusion and also get iron infusions, I was still told that the bypass would be better for me, but I opted out of it and got the sleeve done instead. Its been 19days since my sleeve and I've had 1 iron infusion since. I feel great.
Hey girl! Sending lots of love and prayers your way as you prepare for your surgery 🙏🏾 It is totally understandable to be nervous as it’s a big deal but God’s got you. Wishing you a speedy and pleasant recovery ❤️
I’m starting my process to get my surgery next month, I’m so excited and nervous I just want my life back and to feel good. You look amazing! Gorgeous all around! ❤ Thank you so much for sharing your journey! I’m thinking of doing that for mine!
I have my surgery tomorrow. I am so scared and beating myself up because I backslid and ate some noodles in chicken broth and I am only supposed to consume liquid but I am praying everything goes well and in my favor, lord willing.
Hey there! All the best with the surgery tomorrow, praying that everything will go smoothly and wishing you a speedy recovery ❤️ Don’t beat yourself up over the mistake, I did the same during the process and everything was okay. It is a daunting experience but trust God with all your heart. Sending lots of love 🙏🏾
@@tiffanytwiggs160 things are going pretty good ! I am so happy I made the decision to get the surgery despite of the naysayers of course who were against me getting it. Of course, one day at a time. I’m still trying to figure out what foods are okay for my stomach to handle and I have to remind myself to drink my liquids 25-30 minutes after I eat and not after one another 😱 but it’s a learning experience and I am down 95 thus far 😊
My surgery was in 7 day. I was so nervous but when I realized I had loss weight then I knew that my liver also got smaller. I have lost 20 pounds so far since my surgery but you will be surprised how much 20 pounds can make a difference. It has been rough but it’s totally worth it. I am excited to see what my future has..
Congratulations on the incredible weight loss already, and it's amazing when you start to see the changes yourself! You're absolutely right, it's not an easy journey but it's so worth it! All the best with the rest of the recovery ❤️
hi fari, congrats on your journey. i also have mine in a couple days and nervous but excited :)) i have a question about the check in process at the hospital tho. did you have to pay any confiscation fee deposit before you were successfully checked in? x
Hey lovely! Thank you so much for your kind words, it really means a lot ❤️ ohh I don’t think I paid anything when I arrived at the hospital as I had already paid the deposit, but I did pay the remaining amount for the surgery the night before the surgery. All the best as you prepare and feel free to message me if you have any questions - praying for you!! 🙏🏾
Hey girl! Honestly on day 1 the pain was pretty bad, but once the painkillers started kicking in it was much better and bearable. I also have a pretty low pain threshold which probably doesn’t help, but I know of other patients who haven’t been in as much pain following the surgery so everyone’s experience is totally different. On a positive note, the pain was gone pretty quickly (roughly 24-48hrs). Hope this helps ❤️
I come across your surgery vlog. Omgoodness two bottles of laxatives (haven’t seen that on any other bariatric vlogs) I’ve paid the deposit for my surgery which all going to plan will be in 26 days. I’m hoping to get a direct flight from Edinburgh. I’m getting bypass instead of sleeve. I hope I cope with it all as well as you have. Need to go look see how your progress as your a year on now.
Yes, taking the laxative was not fun but it’s all in the past now thankfully! All the best with your surgery and I pray you also have a positive experience and smooth recovery ❤️🙏🏾
Hey! As you get closer to the surgery you definitely start to question everything so this is normal. I would say to keep doing research and speak to your doctor/surgeon etc if possible about any concerns. If you are still unsure about it all I would maybe hold off on the surgery until you feel more ready and at peace with it as it is a challenging experience at times. All the best with whatever decision you decide to make ❤️
Hey! I hope your recovery is going okay! Those first few days are definitely the worst but honestly better days are coming very soon! Don’t lose faith ❤️
I didn't even pack a bag, idk i didn't even think of packing 1 either. But I'll tell you what, when i got to the front of the hospital, my mom got out the car with me, ny husband dropped me off before going to park and i yelled out with so much enthusiasm saying " oh noooo, I forgot my bikini," 😂😂😂😂. You should've seen their faces, i bursted out laughing, I was in such great spirits that morning. I'm now 19 days post op
Hey! My medical team told me to follow the liver reduction diet (LRD) which allowed me to only consume liquids for the 3 days before the operation. I do know that different doctors provide different diets so confirm with your doctor closer to your surgery. I was also anxious before my operation so I understand how you feel, but continue doing research to help you feel more at ease and ask as many questions as you need to because that really helped me. If you are still feeling really anxious it may be worth delaying the surgery until you feel better about the decision. Praying for a positive experience for you 🙏🏾❤️
Could you please share, if possible, the name of your hospital so that i can book at the same place. You came back ok, and i think i like this place by watching your video
Hey! Surprisingly it didn’t hurt, it was a strange feeling as I could kind of feel the drain being removed from inside of me so it was only slightly uncomfortable, however it was over quickly ❤️
Funny because when I had my c-section, and I had extra fluid inside me spill all over the floor of the operating room, they didn't put any drains on me. And that was an invasive surgery not a laprascopic one. The body absorbs the extra fluid and you pee it back out.
Hey! Yes, I travelled on my own - I did meet a few other people who were on their own too but I would recommend going with someone for some company/help etc❤️
I honestly couldn't tell you, however, my health has been better than ever since losing the excess weight and my regular check-ins with my doctors post-op have shown some really great results ❤️ I hope this answers your question regarding your concern for my health
@@YaGirlFari I worry about going somewhere like Turkey or Thailand for this procedure to also lose a kidney. Probably irrational but I'm neurotic like that. Glad to hear you're doing well.
