Economy is in a complete FREE-FALL right now. US Consumers are in $1.4 Trillion of Credit Card Debt.....up $400 Billion in the last six months! You can expect pinball to collapse along with the US Economy in Jan 2025 and it's going to be BRUTAL! You will see INFLATION come roaring back worse than it ever was.....we are seeing this right now in the PPI (Producer Price Index) up in the manufacturing part of the supply chain. It will hit consumers in 60 days. Combine this with the Dockworkers set to strike again Jan 15th 2025. Trump is not a Union Guy and the Dockworker Head is a NUT JOB! Going to be interesting to watch that battle! You are starting to see large corporations begin large layoffs....today Boeing the Jet Engine Manufacturer just began what they said would be the first of 17,000 job cuts in the next 6 months.....approximated 10% of their work force and you can see as this stuff happens it will have serious effects on consumer spending.....including pinball machines. I wouldn't be surprised if there is only 2 companies left after the dust settles.....and my best guess to that would be Sp00ky & Stern with all the other companies closing up by the end of 2025 due to brutal inflation and horrible economic conditions! Prices will drop in the Deflationary period but I don't see NIB prices coming down due to rising inflation. Consumers will start dumping as businesses crater.....and yes you will see pinball/arcades, barcades most likely close up shop also so you will see some firesale auctions to go along with the price collapse. It's going to be terrible for American consumers.........God Help us if the US Government turns back on the money printing machines because that will drive inflation even higher and that's the last thing we need!
Wow someone actually gets it! I have been saying a bubble is about to burst for the past 6-8 months. I predicted 2008 mortgage crisis (I went into all bonds in my 401K just before the economy tanked) and the recent inflation crisis. That will be peanuts in about 3-6 months!!! The Democrats really screwed it up with Green Deal and all the Ukraine support. Stocks have never been so overvalued since....yes 2008!
You just have to wait see what's left after the fall out of greatest economy 🤣🤣❤it running on inflation if you can call that great . Rethink what your thinking hold on no brakes look out below.
stimulus, money printing to pay for foreign interests... and the resulting inflation... let me guess... the boyfriend of your blue haired wife didnt teach you economics...
supply and demand, why do people get downs when it comes to the price of pinball? people charge what other people are willing to pay. that said I wish I too could still get nib for sub 4k... wont ever happen again ever.
Stern has contact built games for others before. If my memory is correct, they helped CGC with their earlier Medieval Madness Remake runs. It makes sense with their expanded factory capacity.
And waiting to pick up a Labyrinth I hear! Juat sold my Led Zeppelin and am looking around for the next addition to the lineup now. Thinking about waiting until I can find an Uncanny Xmen used at a discount before long.although there is a Foo Fighters around for a decent price that has caught my eye and saw a Mando Premium at $6200 it's just not the greatest layout
killer deal. One is semi local with under 100 plays for $7100. It just keeps dropping. I might throw a $5k offer at him and see how bad he wants to sell it.
$100 for 2 stickers [art blades] is really ridiculous. The wife asked why they weren't already on there. Good questions, but why would they when they can sell them to you?
@jeremiahm1413 the fact people still buy it is only gonna make it worse. Everytime this happens I think when will even the die hards finally say, ok this is too much now. But it never happens.
I can, but why I will do this when you can buy a Stern Pro at 7k NIB + tx or a used one like new with mod for 5.5-6k? Is the 12k machine will rise in value in the next 5 or 10 years?? Will the 12k machine is 2 times better or give me 2 times more play time?
tons of people. we've sold Addams and IJ's for $25K several times this year [high ends of course]. to people who buy at $12K+ it's like you buying a new xbox or PS5 for us commoners. they hardly notice. And those people are needed to feed us lower class who have the skills to make them.
The prices are absurd thee days. When i bought my NIB Transformers LE combo it was 6700 euros. And that was a limited edition. I checked prices in euros for the new limited editions back here in The Netherlands: 12.500 to 15.000 euros. that is 13 to 16.000 dollars. I mean, who can afford those prices with a normal income and a family
If people weren't so willing to pay $ 10 k for a plywood box with stickers and $1000 of components that would also go a long way to bringing the price down.
@@cyrusoverland8461 I haven't seen any with a steep discount. Maybe 10% but that doesn't even cover the sales tax ( UK 20%) let someone the fact that you have no legal protection should it turn out to be a Friday afternoon special;)
@ ah. Oh, you’re in the UK. I’ve seen new games here in the US drop by as much as $2k within a few months. I also only have ever bought used games thru Pinside and I’ve had good luck. On top of that I have an in depth check list I go thru before buying a pin. If all else fails I’m pretty good at repairs. I definitely do not envy the taxes you have to pay over there for an imported pin.
Impulsively bought the Godfather CE and it is already worth 5K less than what I paid Ouch. Oh well it is a great game and I will hang on to it, but unlikely I will buy a new CE ever again.
I can’t afford these new games, I can’t even afford old games anymore! I like going to the Allentown pinball show when I was able to get a Williams Flash in great shape for 550 dollars and where most older machines were under 900 in great shape, I miss those days, quite honestly I hope the whole arcade market crashes and sends prices back to about 7-8 years ago
I agree those prices quoted are really high. If Trump goes through with those tariffs he is proposing the economy will most likely go down due to higher inflation. So it makes sense to wait and see how much an expensive toy like a pinball game can drop in the future recession and if you can still afford it. Don’t forget there still will be future maintenance costs that most likely will be higher due to inflated parts cost and labor.
As always greed has prevailed. What once was a friendly hobby has attracted "scavengers" from everywhere. I knew days were counted when guys like peterson invested in Stern, no passion at all, just $$$.
I own 3 of the newer Stern titles from around Covid and I am never buying another NIB at these prices. Too many people turned this hobby into an "investment" during the covid years.
Stern cannibalizing their own market share by overlapping releases is about the stupid things they can do: Metallica Remastered over Uncanny X-Men after John Wick.... or Jaws... Slow the fuck down. It covid was a bubble.

$3,000 used
$5,000 new
This is the only way.
Except BBQ
What is funny the only pins really holding value are Williams System 11’s. Talk about irony.
I avoid any pinball with an LCD screen like the plague.

in the uk a premium works out at $14500
You can get used ones for that price.

Two years out for the stubborn ones. Smarts ones will shutdown within a year. Stern is going to take the biggest hit in this.
