I demonstrate how I cold stratify temperate drosera seeds in the fridge using paper towel. Really easy method! As usual with carnivorous plants, use distilled water.
I'll keep these in the fridge for 4 weeks. That's typical I think, unless you read other specific directions for the species you're trying. And no, they won't germinate in the fridge. But after this process, they'll germinate when they're put in normal conditions. For these, I will put them in a little put under lights like my other sundews, and then they will germinate and start to grow in a few weeks.
And once you're done? Do I just put in the medium? Do you reccoment a heat mat and humity dome for growing? I'm not new to plants...but know absolutely nothing about starting with seeds 🥴😬
Must be a pain in the butt when it comes time to plant them cause the seeds are so tiny.
haha, VERY.
Good video. It’s March tomorrow, do I still need to do this?
Capensis?
Plant s And other things I think these were rotundifolia! Just out a few of them outside for summer. 😎
Do I need to do this for all carnivorous plants?
Just the temperate ones (the ones that go dormant)
So does this make them germinate in the fridge, and around how many weeks?

Do u wait until germinate before potting? How long does it take?
Any updates ?
Yeah, this was successful! I have not made a video about this plant, but i had several plants germinate and sprout.

It depends on your species, something like a drosera fifliformis tracyi probably wouldn’t need either (heat mat and humidity done)
