Goo goo dolls - 2 days in February. That's my go to song about everything being OK even when it's not. Anyone struggling should give it a listen. Also... rise against absolutely rock. Seen them 3 times, most recently was an acoustic gig they did. So epic.
"Despite the overwhelming odds, tomorrow came..." oh man, that one hits home for anyone who had those late night struggles, whether it be a depression, mourning, getting over your first big heartbreak, that line always gets me.
I don't have any big sob story about this song stopping me from killing myself or anything, but this song just always makes me feel better when I'm down. It's just a great reminder that there's a light at the end of the tunnel and it really helps me to remember just how blessed I really am. It's like a "don't cry cause it's over, smile because it happened" kinda thing.
Thank you Rise Against. Thanks to my dog and this song I never killed myself even though I really wanted to sometimes. Now I'm not depressed anymore thanks to some amazing people in my life. Without this song I probably wouldn't have been alive to see this wonderful day. Not everything's perfect, but it is so much better. To everyone struggling, keep fighting. It does get better.
An old friend of mine took her life this week, and in these times I am really finding comfort in these lyrics... Rise Against, thank you so much for your music, it never stops being relatable and has been there for me for so many years through the ups and downs of life. You are all amazing humans.
I love their old stuff the most… but this song is soooo on point. Very powerful. I think everyone needs this message at some point in their life. I know it has helped me before!
This song came into my life not too long before I lost someone that meant a lot to me back in Autumn of 2015. Makes me emotional just thinking back about it. Thank you Rise Against. In ways you may never know, you guys have helped me through one if THE toughest time in my life.

Bro…this hit home. I was suicidal in an abusive household too. It was to the point where I had two suicide attempts. If my grandma hadn’t intervened, I would’ve succeeded in ending my life. It may sound weird cuz we’re just RUclips strangers but I know exactly what you’ve been through. You’re absolutely right, it gets better once you’ve left. You have scars, but they fade.
what I love about this band is that they always have strong messages in there songs xxx they are my favourite band and I would love to see them live again ^^
Sometimes, nobody's there to help you. You hope the light is around the corner, but it's just more darkness. But maybe, you could give a smile. Become the light you're looking for. Make it so you can see- not only where you are, but everyone else who was trying to find the way out, too.
best song on the album. really hope they play it when I see them. 3rd time seeing them and they never disappoint. hearing this, paper wings or my all time fave, the dirt whispered would make the night epic
The first time I heard this song, I was sitting against the wall outside my geometry class. I was in my sophomore year of high school, it was October 24th, 2014. About 5 minutes earlier I was in the principal’s office dropping off a late attendance sheet, and while I was in there news of the MPHS shooting came down the line. They didn’t mean for any students to know who the victims were yet, as our school was fairly closely connected to MPHS through sports, but I remember hearing the last name of one of a girl I had been flirting with since the start of the term being identified as a victim over the resource officer’s radio. I remember putting in an earbud, turning on MCR (cringe emo phase), and as I pocketed my phone I accidentally clicked this video. And I just dropped outside my geometry class, I couldn’t move and I couldn’t breathe, I remember hearing my geometry teacher get the news over his office phone and my biology teacher get the news down the hall, I remember hearing my biology teacher just start sobbing and my geometry teacher swearing up a storm. I remember my bio teacher stepping out of his room to compose himself, he ended up sitting next to me crying. By the end of the period my entire geometry class, that bio class, and one of the school security guards were just sitting out there, the teachers in shock, and the students there not knowing who had been killed but wanting to be there for those of us who knew. This song will always be connected to that day for me, and I really hope it continues gets me through the hard times in life. Sorry for the long post if anyone actually read this, I just needed to say my piece. Rest In Peace Z.R.G.
Dude, I’m so sorry to hear that, I’m going through shit myself though, not even comparable as bad as it is, but I wanna say your not alone In being at a loss, just, I wanna let you know because no one let me know ☺️
@@derekrequiem4359 Too much detail. It's written like an over dramatic fiction, not a real recollection of a traumatic event. That plus the absurd coincidence of "accidentally" turning on a song that's incredibly relevant to an event while it's happening is just... lol.
I love Rise Against, and this song really helped me move on after my grandfather died. The part that really got me was the line “Despite the overwhelming odds tomorrow came”. Not sure how to explain it, but it helped me see that life keeps on moving even when we get stuck I guess. At least for me, it helped me realize that life has a natural rhythm and we are the ones who try to make it seem unnatural. Or at least that we want to view it like the world has paused or ended. Anyway, this band helped me through so much and things are great. Thanks for reading this by the way. I hope you have an awesome day. Just the way it should be
I think it has nothing to do with “quarantine” and everything to do actual hardship of life, ( this was written long before covid) When you have adversity, you can only be beaten down, or RISE AGAINST the situation. I think the song is about years being beaten down by others around you, or the adversity of everyday life, and overcoming it because everyday is better as long as yoy make it so. That’s my option and I think we are trying to understand more of life. If you disagree I’m not then welcome to talk cordially
I was just remembering the worst night of my life. I had repressed the memory but it all came to me at once. I remembered the pain in my mothers eyes, the sound of her voice screaming my name, the feeling of running from my own home, the feeling of slowly freezing to death second by excrutiating second... But then I came back and listened to this song. Thank you for making this Rise Against. Tim, Joe, Zach, Brandon, thank all of you. This helped a lot.
Love this track. The lyrics are amazing and really mean something personally to me. Kind of like how I feel with Survive. One of my favorite songs off the new album along with Methadone, People Live Here, and fuck it, the whole album is great just like all of Rise Against's albums. There is really not a single Rise song I don't enjoy.
I love how lyrics for this type of music means something yet it's not considered music to some people yet other music such as nickie manaj - anaconda has no meaning and melt your brian and people like that, the fuck is wrong with the world
This was easily one of the most important songs in my life. It gave that sense or permission to feel everything, and still led with "Despite the overwhelming odds, tomorrow came." Instead of just hiding it, or pretending it didn't exist - it gave the feeling of "Yeah, it sucks, and you can stay for a while, but the sun will rise - you mark my words."
I used to listen to this song in the car with my dad. All I knew is that it sounded good. I never thought that it'd be so useful years later. Whoever you guys are... thank you. I don't think I could've made it without this.
Days like this its good to hear this, when you just feel like digging the blade as far into your arms n legs as it will go. This songs saved me from doing that, more than i would normally do it. I don't understand people who don't enjoy music. This is my love and my life.
I've dealt with a lot of shit through the years. Abusive romantic partners, family problems, crumbling mental health.. and after YEARS of repairing the damage, I still get rough days. My partner sent me this song after I've told him quite a bit of my story, and I appreciate how its not told as a pep talk, or a guilt trip, or even as an anthem. Its sincere, sympathetic, even soothing to finally hear "its ok to be hurt after all thats happened to you."
It just fills me with happy tears, seeing all these people in the comments who were filled with hope by this song just like I was. I'm better now, my journey is not done yet but I keep going, as I hope all of you are doing. Stay strong.
I was listening to this younger, didn't understand English as good as now, but I love the tunes. Now everything makes sense, in retrospect. This is why we have awesome music and meaningful words, everyone can have a piece of it and enjoy
My dad used to listen to this song with me all time when I listen to it it brings back the amazing memories that I made and no he’s not dead I just am not allowed to see him but that’s besides the point every time I here these lyrics I think if the man that tough me everything that I know to this day I miss you dad
I found this a few months ago. For a long time now, I've felt like my life isn't going anywhere. Any time I try to move forward I feel like the universe pushes me 5 steps back. I never thought about killing myself (I don't believe suicide should ever be considered an option) but this song came at the right time of my feeling of abandonment and some kind of universal punishment. Every time I hear this song, I know it's never too late to make some changes for myself. Things are gonna be different for me even if I have to do it alone.
I've been sharing this out for all those that are walking the edge right now. Where darkness seems all-consuming. The current state of our nation is deplorable and wearing on so many right now. Never did I think *I* would need to hear the message myself. Depression and anxiety sucks. And it is often hard to hold on. Guys, thank you for this positive message.
Listened to this song maybe a hundred times, never actually related to the lyrics till now. This past week has been a well of grief for me and I can't imagine being able to crack a smile, but it's a testament the people who wrote it that it really means something to me now.
I love that the message of this song is kind of different, instead of telling you to get better as fast as possible, it's more like "take your time and know that it will pass"
You have no idea how many times this song put a smile ln my face when I knew the bad times were over. "Even the deepest scars in time will fade" it is the greatest line of this song. Keep it going friend, it is true that better times will come.
a friend of Mine Sent me this Song. she knows that I Have it really hard at the moment and I am on her mind because of it and she wishes that everything Will be ok. I was So heartbroken by her Love. I know she is the sweetest person on this world and still I can Be amazed by her kindness.... she is helping me to smile one day again. truly an Angel.

It is helping me a lot these days. So i really want to say thanks, thank you so much, you are awsome. A from a huge fan from Brazil
Learning this song to play on the guitar and sing... learning the words: Above the crowd, feet dangling, From a rooftop, She waits from ledges, For a voice to talk her down. Burst into tears. Thank you Rise Against. This is the first time I've heard this song but so many of your songs from through the years have given me hope.
This makes me think back to the last two weeks. The woman that reached out to me in my darkest hour... How she turned me away from my greatest sin, and I saved her from her own thoughts of death. She's beautiful, and not just her knockout smile, or those brown eyes, or auburn hair. Her trauma, and the fact she reached out to me... Saw me as someone in need despite her own struggles... She'll always be beautiful to me. I hope I get to take her in my arms one day, and say "Thank you, and thank God for you."
My friend showed me this song after I had my heart broken for the fist time. I was devastated. Barley alive in all honesty. Not suicidal but definitely in a dark place and didn't want to ever leave my room or my bed. I must of listened to this song at least 103 times in the past 4 days. It just puts a smile on my face and helps me get through everyday now.
My sister found this song when she needed a background song for a project about depression. I reused it when I needed to write a report on a song that gives me strength. I now listen to this song whenever something bad happens. Which right now is every night
This is my favorite song of all time. I don't listen to it often because I don't want it to lose the magic. I saw you guys in concert once, and you didn't play this song. I was fighting hard not to run to the front to beg you to play it lol.
Just a reminder to everyone that we’re all flowers in this world. Some of us get trampled underfoot and wilt. But if we’re willing to let others love and nurture us, we will grow again. I wouldn’t be here today if this wasn’t true
I wan't this song to be played on my funeral :) It's lyrics contain almost my whole experience through life and my way of seeing the world and thinking about it. Really glad this song was created :)
+RiseAgainstVEVO I can't explain but everytime I hear this music it makes me cry. I've been through depression and It brings the message I need, I think. A huge thank you. I've been following RA since my 15 (now I am 23) and there is no doubt you're the best. So, once again thank you and I hope you keep doing musics as only you know how to do
This song and all of their songs have helped me know my place, helped me find myself and what I was doing with my life. This song always made me happy, like there was still hope while I cried at the same time because the hope was out of reach and the bad was true and as much as I wanted the good things in this song to be true, they weren't. I was deep in depression and I didn't like the time where tomorrow came. I wanted an end, some peace, relief. I don't have anything deep to say, but thank you. You have been with me throughout my life and I'm getting through it. It got better, and I don't mind tomorrow coming anymore. I look forward to it. Thank you Rise Against.
I agree entirely! The roughness in his voice adds a certain reality to his singing. It brings the song down to earth, while floatier/overproduced voices might not do so as well.
Rise against has many good songs, but Tragedy+Time has the most straight forward lyrics that counts for my personal emotions. Therefore it's my favorite song! :-) I listen to it every day
.-. never realized this song was about suicide till now... "feet dangling from a rooftop, waiting for a voice to talk her down" was what made things click...
I think Tim connects to it metaphorically as just a generic "ready to give up" but like all great art is open for interpretation. All tragedy plus time equals catharsis
Ever since last year when there was a shooting in my city that put my work place on lockdown this song has helped me. The next day I had all of my music on my phone on shuffle and this song played. A month later my cousin passed away. That hit me like a truck and it was long enough for me to forget about this song. A couple days later had all of my music on shuffle and this song played again on my way home from work. Ever since then when something bad has happened in my life I use this song to calm me down and help me get through the tough times. I've been listening to it a lot over the past week.
Honestly, I think this is one of the greatest songs I've ever heard. Don't get me wrong; Rise Against is one of my favorite bands and I love all of their albums and songs equally. (I don't really care much for their politics, though; I just like their music and having my own faith in humanity.) But this song... "Tragedy + Time"... It's lyrics are genuinely excellent and full of meaning, all of the instruments in it, even Tim's voice, all sound very melodic and awesome and best of all, I love how happy the tone of this song sounds. I definitely got my money's worth from buying their "The Black Market" album. :D
Most people here are commenting about how this song helped them and how it eventually gets better, but here I am, still broken after 3 years... Just people saying "It gets better" doesn't help someone, it especially doesn't help me, seeing as I am an incredibly impatient person. Just hope the people who say that are right, and that I'll be happier...
It helps jus laughing and distracting ur self, doesn't make u happy but u can ignore the feeling at least, it got better for me, but then it went bad again, but gotta stay optimistic and hope it'll get better again, I've seen others come back from being broken, just hav to hope u will too
Kit Kat Well, I hope that both of us will eventually be happy. Just try to find the one thing that makes you laugh, even if you only laugh at it for 3 seconds, it could be anything. For me, what makes me laugh is just random things on the internet that fit my dark humour, hope you find it!
I've been extremely depressed for 6 years but I recently talked to a friend who's going to counselling for depression for the first time ever about how depressed I am and I feel like dawn is rising soon for me
"Nothing matters but the pain when your alone... " what if thats always.... and it never gets better.... sometime soon ill disappear and be forgotten like all the lost souls.
This song reminds me of my brother, he went through a pretty bad divorce. Got cheated on, nearly lost his kids, just an uphill battle. Things turned out okay for him, especially since he still got to see his boys, but I knew this song helped him get through it all. He passed away last year, and now this song helps me when I think of him. To anyone who’s reading this, no matter how dark the tunnel you’re in may be, there will always be a light at the end, you just need to open your eyes.
I loss my father in a terrible way he get killed a few months ago and this song help me to relieve my pain and help me to fight my depression and help me to cry
I'm actually grinning like an idiot now cuz a lot of shit got into my head (bad shit mind you) and its stopped now so the line "Despite the overwhelming odds tomorrow came" comes up and I'm like hell yeah it did.
I feel the exact same, I used to think nothing more than ending it all and I'll admit I've tried, but I've come to realize that I'm only a teenager and I have an entire life to live and not waste
I first heard this song in 2017... I was in the hospital for a mental breakdown, and we had computer time for 10 minutes a day... I stumbled on this video and it made me cry. I actually printed the lyrics out and highlighted the second chorus.
Absolutely can't wait for the music video of this song. Really hits my heart with the lyrics. Absolutely loving how it sounds acoustic whenever I play it. It sounds so awesome and the lyrics truly shines through. Three more weeks and I'll be singing this song with them in Oslo. Can't wait!!! Rock on!
Thank~you rise against. As well as everyone that's supported this wonderful group. I hope to meet the members one day and personally thank them. R.G. your guys's music helped me through my grandfather's, stepmother, and my own fathers deaths. If not for their music I honestly don't think I would be here. There were plenty of other factors that helped me stay here but the nights where I couldn't talk to anyone and I felt alone and afraid of both myself and my life. Their music helped the way they play they way they've changed over time. One of my favorite artist & several others have said, "keep moving forward." If not for your guys's music I would've lost my battle with depression at a much younger age. I'm alive today and even though I have moments of doubt I find myself laughing even if I'm the only one laughing. I strive to be healthier everyday. I want to help as many people as I can without hurting anyone, while being happy myself. You guys helped me find my way back to my path. Thank ~you Rise Against.
It’s incredibly beautiful and rare to find a song that tells you things will be okay without ignoring or invalidating the pain you’re going through.

Tragedy + Time" On the edges of the sharpest knives
In the middle of the darkest nights
Always knew that I would find you here
In a puddle of the bravest tears
I've seen enough to know it's lonely where you are
Above the crowd
Feet dangling from a rooftop (a rooftop)
She waits from ledges for a voice to talk her down
And nothing matters but the pain when you're alone
The never-ending nights when you're awake
When you're praying that tomorrow it's okay
There will be a time to crack another smile
Maybe not today or for awhile
But we're holding on to laugh again some day
To laugh again some day
All that matters is the time we had
Doesn't matter how it all went bad
Never wonder what it might be like
Shut the door, say goodbye
When faced with tragedy
We come alive or come undone
So don't hold back, let it shape you like an ocean
Even the deepest scars in time will fade
Nothing matters but the pain when you're alone
Never-ending nights when you're awake
When you're praying that tomorrow it's okay
There will be a time to crack another smile
Maybe not today or for awhile
But we're holding on to laugh again some day
Yeah, we're holding on to laugh again some day
And sometimes you have to go back To know just where you have been
But we're old enough to know that
What has been, will be again and again
And the bravest of faces
Are the ones where we fake it
In the roles that we play
Nothing matters when the pain is all but gone
When you are finally awake
Despite the overwhelming odds, tomorrow came
And when they see you crack a smile
And you decide to stay a while
You'll be ready then, to laugh again
Nothing matters but the pain (We are tragedy, yeah, we are sympathy)
Nothing matters but the pain You see what you want to see
Nothing matters but the pain (We are misery, and distant memories)
Nothing matters but the pain We all learned to laugh again
Yeah, we all learned to laugh again We all learned to laugh again
Thank you!

But maybe, you could give a smile. Become the light you're looking for.
Make it so you can see- not only where you are, but everyone else who was trying to find the way out, too.
thanks timothy mcilrath and crew, saw you live when I was young and you've never let me down. still have a sticker on my guitar
best song on the album. really hope they play it when I see them.
I hope everything is ok with you my guy or girl. I'm so sorry for that.
Dude, I’m so sorry to hear that, I’m going through shit myself though, not even comparable as bad as it is, but I wanna say your not alone In being at a loss, just, I wanna let you know because no one let me know ☺️
Sounds made up tbh.
@@Gankstomper What part sounds made up, the sc. hool shoo.ting?
@@derekrequiem4359 Too much detail. It's written like an over dramatic fiction, not a real recollection of a traumatic event.
That plus the absurd coincidence of "accidentally" turning on a song that's incredibly relevant to an event while it's happening is just... lol.
Rise Against clearly captured the period of time when one experience hardships and is in a dark corner in life. Thank you for being here for us :)
Just the way it should be
This is the perfect song to listen to during this coronavirus quarantine.
"But we're holding on to laugh again someday"
perfect indeed.
Perfect song, in general.
I laugh everyday at the news.
I think it has nothing to do with “quarantine” and everything to do actual hardship of life,
( this was written long before covid)
When you have adversity, you can only be beaten down, or RISE AGAINST the situation.
I think the song is about years being beaten down by others around you, or the adversity of everyday life, and overcoming it because everyday is better as long as yoy make it so.
That’s my option and I think we are trying to understand more of life. If you disagree I’m not then welcome to talk cordially

The second the first note plays I tear up...this is so beautiful as well as many other of their songs. Thank you, Rise Against.
Same here, although my favorite song of this album is The Great Die-off
I love how lyrics for this type of music means something yet it's not considered music to some people yet other music such as nickie manaj - anaconda has no meaning and melt your brian and people like that, the fuck is wrong with the world
I know this song hits me personally also, I'm going through a divorce and it definitely gets me every time I listen to it.
Paul Hinkelman Everything is going to be okay man! :)
Same here!
This is my go-to song for whenever I feel sad, angry, hurt, frustrated or suicidal. ♥
I'm going through something really hard right now, and I couldn't ask for a better song to listen to in this very moment. Thank you Rise Against.
This was easily one of the most important songs in my life.
It gave that sense or permission to feel everything, and still led with "Despite the overwhelming odds, tomorrow came."
Instead of just hiding it, or pretending it didn't exist - it gave the feeling of "Yeah, it sucks, and you can stay for a while, but the sun will rise - you mark my words."
I used to listen to this song in the car with my dad.
All I knew is that it sounded good.
I never thought that it'd be so useful years later.
Whoever you guys are... thank you.
I don't think I could've made it without this.
Another song from Rise Against that gives me life
God tims lyrics are deeper than the ocean..a true punk poet..bless🤘
Only want to say thanks ❤
Days like this its good to hear this, when you just feel like digging the blade as far into your arms n legs as it will go. This songs saved me from doing that, more than i would normally do it. I don't understand people who don't enjoy music. This is my love and my life.
Hearing this today was perfect. Hard times right now but I'll crack another smile some day
One of the, if not The, most lyrically-talented bands.
I don't know why, but I really needed to hear this song today
It just fills me with happy tears, seeing all these people in the comments who were filled with hope by this song just like I was.
I'm better now, my journey is not done yet but I keep going, as I hope all of you are doing. Stay strong.
I was listening to this younger, didn't understand English as good as now, but I love the tunes. Now everything makes sense, in retrospect. This is why we have awesome music and meaningful words, everyone can have a piece of it and enjoy
They are amazing. This song and many others of them...I think I wouldnt be here now if you were not there.
My dad used to listen to this song with me all time when I listen to it it brings back the amazing memories that I made and no he’s not dead I just am not allowed to see him but that’s besides the point every time I here these lyrics I think if the man that tough me everything that I know to this day
I miss you dad
I found this a few months ago. For a long time now, I've felt like my life isn't going anywhere. Any time I try to move forward I feel like the universe pushes me 5 steps back. I never thought about killing myself (I don't believe suicide should ever be considered an option) but this song came at the right time of my feeling of abandonment and some kind of universal punishment. Every time I hear this song, I know it's never too late to make some changes for myself. Things are gonna be different for me even if I have to do it alone.
I needed this, Rise Against comes through again, still can't believe I first found it the day before we broke up.
One night I held a gun to my head. Never pulled it. Now I cry every time I hear this song
This is the one song I will always recommend to my friends who are in a bad place, in the hopes it brings them the understanding that it gave me.
This is, currently, my absolute favorite song to listen to when I'm feeling down.
2024. Still listening to this. This has saved me, more than I could ever remember.
Going through the hardest break up of my life. This song right here has kept me going.
Listened to this song maybe a hundred times, never actually related to the lyrics till now. This past week has been a well of grief for me and I can't imagine being able to crack a smile, but it's a testament the people who wrote it that it really means something to me now.
this song, people live here, and the great die off are my top 3 on the new album
These lyrics are hitting differently these days...
I love that the message of this song is kind of different, instead of telling you to get better as fast as possible, it's more like "take your time and know that it will pass"
RA has been my fave band for 12 years, still are. Yet i have never been able to be ssomewhere to watch them live. One day... then i can die in peace
right now i can't sleep and this is my playlist.
Going through withdraws from my anti depressants after losing my job and insurance
Bills stacking life falling apart
This is getting me through the next little bit
one of the best lyrics videos i've ever seen
thans RA.
I've been following you for almost 10 years now. I love your musics, how they are deep in meaning and always bringing a positive message. This one in special make me cry all the times.
They became my favorite band in 2012 and still are.👍
Same :)
***** When the ps2 came out lol
***** 2004, everything started when Give It All was put into NFS:UG2 and FlatOut2 :)
***** What about Rock Band 2? I remember trying to keep up with that song on guitar on Expert... No easy feat!
+Joe Willard and now it is in Guitar Hero Live
God damn, this song is powerful.
This is my favorite song of all time. I don't listen to it often because I don't want it to lose the magic. I saw you guys in concert once, and you didn't play this song. I was fighting hard not to run to the front to beg you to play it lol.
So far Rise Against has never let me down. Always impressed. Thanks for being here Rise Against!
At first I wasn't sold on the video, but near the end it started to fit more and more. And then the ending made it worth watching.
Tim's lyrics have saved countless lives
Just a reminder to everyone that we’re all flowers in this world. Some of us get trampled underfoot and wilt. But if we’re willing to let others love and nurture us, we will grow again. I wouldn’t be here today if this wasn’t true
I wan't this song to be played on my funeral :) It's lyrics contain almost my whole experience through life and my way of seeing the world and thinking about it. Really glad this song was created :)
Yeah, music does crazy things, but best of all it makes you wanna live for the moment
Whoever made this video deserves an award.
This song helped me with my depression like I miss my good memories as a kid but already keep on pushing and it kinds helps with suicidal people
The cough in his throat makes his singing so unique :D
I agree entirely! The roughness in his voice adds a certain reality to his singing. It brings the song down to earth, while floatier/overproduced voices might not do so as well.
Garrett Randall :D
Garrett Randall YES! I love his rough voice, it’s so unique and it’s the best, no one else could sing rise against songs as good.
@@WhateverWhenever888 amen bro..hes unique
Rise against has many good songs, but Tragedy+Time has the most straight forward lyrics that counts for my personal emotions. Therefore it's my favorite song! :-) I listen to it every day
.-. never realized this song was about suicide till now... "feet dangling from a rooftop, waiting for a voice to talk her down" was what made things click...
not the first song from rise against about suaside ready to fall is the song that stopped me from killing myself
+Alistair Crow this was the first one I found out was about suicide. I'll check out that other one in a bit.
Kinda their thing not down playing their songs but theyve had a few about suicide and their all good
I think Tim connects to it metaphorically as just a generic "ready to give up" but like all great art is open for interpretation. All tragedy plus time equals catharsis
One of the best RA songs in my honest opinion I love the 4 of you so much. Long live Rise Against!
(I don't really care much for their politics, though; I just like their music and having my own faith in humanity.)
But this song...
It helps jus laughing and distracting ur self, doesn't make u happy but u can ignore the feeling at least, it got better for me, but then it went bad again, but gotta stay optimistic and hope it'll get better again, I've seen others come back from being broken, just hav to hope u will too
Valentina Diamond Exactly the same story. It's been 3 years of waiting and I'm tired.
Kit Kat Well, I hope that both of us will eventually be happy. Just try to find the one thing that makes you laugh, even if you only laugh at it for 3 seconds, it could be anything. For me, what makes me laugh is just random things on the internet that fit my dark humour, hope you find it!
lucas lopez Sorry.
Time is eternal and your carnal edge is worth noting. Heal, take time to heal. Forget nothing. Fear nothing. Find more.
I'm dying inside atm thank you rise against ill always love you
This song helps me in a very sad moment in my life. The best band, ever! :D
Such an amazing song
This song reminds me of my brother, he went through a pretty bad divorce. Got cheated on, nearly lost his kids, just an uphill battle. Things turned out okay for him, especially since he still got to see his boys, but I knew this song helped him get through it all. He passed away last year, and now this song helps me when I think of him. To anyone who’s reading this, no matter how dark the tunnel you’re in may be, there will always be a light at the end, you just need to open your eyes.
Am I the only one who totally missed how awesome this song is when they first listened to the album?
I loss my father in a terrible way he get killed a few months ago and this song help me to relieve my pain and help me to fight my depression and help me to cry
This song is so awesome. I'm so glad Rise Against is still so fucking great. Not a single bad album or song
It wasn't bad, but This is Noise had some terrible mixing imo.
Way to go Rise Against. This is beautiful. Don't stop making music. We need more music like this.
This song saved my life. Thank you Rise Against.
***** yeah, that part struck hard i was just like "damn."
I got goosebumps and started crying at that part, probably because of how softly he said it and just OMG this song
***** same
It always does, brother.
