His biggest achievement was taking away the lemons from the drink counter. Chipotle seems to have no idea how to serve online orders, something Starbucks does just about perfectly already. They need to offer more for the price and improve the locations.
Look, Starbucks coffee tastes like crap. They are most successful at selling sugary non-coffee beverages. Starbucks have lost its luster... Most stores look like crap - removed AC outlet and seating. It no longer give a good experience for me to spend money there.
Get rid of the paper straws. No one likes them, they don't work more than 5 minutes, especially in a humid environment, and you have to take 2-3 of them in order to be able to finish a drink without paper bits in your mouth. Trying to 'save the environment' with paper straws when you have 50 exhaust-spewing cars an hour pulling through your drive through is a worthless gesture.
Come on... we're talking about coffee. It's not revolutionary. What did Pat Gelsinger do for Intel? How is Brian Niccol going to revolutionize Starbucks? If switching CEOs and getting similar results as their past performance, then Intel would try to get the CEO of AMD or Nvidia. This is insanity.
The coffee business is not like a fast food restaurant. It's very different and requires IMO a dedicated professional to straighten things out and move forward. I feel the selection for a CEO was a mistake. Quality, dedicated service, building drinks according to strict corporate guidelines and value for money spent are requirements for Starbucks to succeed.
The large buying volume suggesting that a lot of investors were waiting for a reason to buy in. So maybe not the company but the stock may have made it thru the worst headwinds?
You only need bucks so you will do whatever it takes. Forget. We don't need to pay so many bucks for a cup of Coffee. Instead you should have given the earlier CEO a free hand to concentrate on volumes by reducing price. However you will not allow it as you are BRAND conscious. Business models need to change. Your new CEO working remote will be a disaster if he does not do this.
Bring back the cream and sugar on the counter! That’s literally the reason why I stopped going
COMPLETELY AGREE>>>

They either need to figure out how to bring people back into the store, or adapt to this new takeaway environment.

They should focus on removing the plastic caps, since those aren't exposed to liquids at all times.

Starbucks has no hope. Team Dutch Bros all the way!
It's all about "QUALITY CONTROL".
It can’t possibly be that the competition is too strong. We just need a new coach!
Yeah… um… I don’t know about that.

If you would have given sometimes to Mr. Laxman.. He might be assets for the company
The CEO takes a jet to work. Bet environmental nuts love that
The good professor said the new CEO “had the head winds behind him”!! 🤔 that’s a strange expression!!
I think he meant that the headwinds are likely partially in the past

It’s just MBA deskjockey talkspeak.
A tall order? More like a venti order...
