Petition to have June come to our house and make everything for Christmas ✅✅✅
You mean rescue us all from having baking fails? Yes please!
Okay, but someone give her a packet of agar and a packet of gelatin and tell her that’s the fix unless she wants to use a vegan coconut cream.
Please make me food june
Heck I don't bake, let alone have an oven. But, I'd watch every June's baking video, just because it's June.
I love June! She’s so practical and easy to understand. I could watch her cook all day. Well, I wish I could. Learning so much USEFUL pro tips. Jane taking my game to the next level. Give this lady her own show!
Omg yes we want June's own cook channel!!!! 💯💖
I suggest that you sprinkle the powder sugar over the sponge first, then cover it with a towel as it's in the baking sheet, and 'then' flip it over and roll... You'll get it straight on and there's no risk of it breaking!
BRILLIANT.
This totally works! As a pastry chef I always use this trick and it always ensures there’s no cracks later on!!
Great idea! Thanks❤️❤️❤️
i did this and it was a great suggestion! super easy
I thought the same thing. I’m making this cake for this Christmas.
It turned out so beautifully! I definitely want to try making this. Thanks for all the gelatin tips. ❤️
Thank you June! Your incredibly thorough & delightful explanation helped my fiance and I make, not just one, but 4 buche de noels for our first time! I wish I could include a photo! Merry Christmas!
I Made this Yule log recipe yesterday and it turned out great. It was my first time ever to make a Yule log. I will be making it every year for the holidays.
I made this Yule log for Christmas. It was great & looked beautiful! Thanks for the recipe. New tradition for sure!
THIS RECIPE IS PERRRRFECT! It came out so well! I love the explanation and i love you JUNE!
I love how June judges by ear, by eye, by her whole self!
i usually just judge by eyes and then asks my boss if bread/cake is done, works every time.
i'm occasionally alone at work though, and i feel like things look better at home, i don't know if it's me or if bread just doesn't get the same color.
Loved every second of the video. My family loved this light yet decadent Christmas treat.
Just made this dessert- it-was- AWESOME!!!
Loved the attitude of June...watched about 4-5 yule log recipes.. I'm gonna make this one today.First time baking ever
I've been researching Christmas desserts and this one looks very festive and yummy! 😋 Also, I noticed that you used a clipboard for your recipe and I wanted to pass along a tip for anyone reading... 📚 I use an "Itoya Pop-Up Easel ProFolio, 8.5in x 11in" binder for storing printed out recipes and it works like a charm! It has plastic sleeves to protect your recipes from spills and splatters and props up for ease of reading but then folds down again for easy storage.
Great tutorial!!! I really enjoy watching and listening to you. Cake looks so delicious.
Cracking the single eggs into a small separate bowl before adding them to any bunch of other yolks or the dough also prevents getting a rotten one into the dough and having to start over again. ❤️
The three-bowl method for separating with a spoon is great! 😊
I love this recipe and love how she explains everything, very clear and I was able to achieve a delicious yule log!
Oh thank u June!! I made this today❤️❤️. Perfect!! My kids love me more
Incredible amount of work that goes into this!
This woman is so talented, so skilled, so knowledgeable. If you *really watch look and listen to her, you learn so much. I am a classically trained pastry chef from the best school in the world, and this woman is outstanding! Best video so far… if you really want to make a Buche, this is the one to watch and save!
Everyday June Drinks a Gallon of " Awesome Sauce " ...She is just Amazing
June is a champion of technique insights! Love her!
My French-Canadian Nana would always make this for Christmas. This year we moved her from Quebec to live with us in the states due to her no longer having family there for support (she’s 90). I wanted to make this cake together but her memory (and eye sight) isn’t what it used to be, so I hopped on RUclips and found this gem. With the help of this video we were able to pull it off, the cake is in the freezer ready to be frosted for Christmas!
Thanks June ❤
I'm soo gonna try and make this😍💯
I made these last Christmas and will this year. It's so yummy.
I tried this, it came out so good, the only problem like June said is Hershey does leave a bitter taste, especially on the frosting
Gorgeous!
Thank y'all so much dearest 🌹
Y'all such an inspiration 🥰
Appreciate y'all from the bottom of my heart 💟
Be Blissful Eternally 🙏👼🌈
i made this rolled cake, it was great! but i had a little bit of trouble with rolling, but it was interesting experience. definitely going to make it again
Our kitchen queen 👑
Looks delicious...definitely trying this.
Thank you
I wanna try to bake it
An excellent recipe with a talented baker who was a joy to watch. Also loved her brioche and Parker House rolls recipes. Yay, June!
Im so excited to make this for my family this year!
From one June to another, this looks delicious, made with love, I am going to make this,, Thank you! 🌺
please let us know how it tastes, planning to make it too
Sure looks amazing I would love to try this recipe once.
Yeah. Just once!😂😂😂
Gorgeous cake log! ❤️
Just so people know this recipe can totally be made with just a hand mixer, just saying!
Even without, but you need serious ellbow grease.
Shoutout to generations of especially women making days special with oldschool baking and no fancy kitchen.
@@TheNinnyfee sSAz*zz****zzz*z*z
Really cause this mixer is very expensive but she has saying it won't be fluffy
She established that in the beginning. Lol
You can use a wisk if you only have one mixer and no time. Just make sure not to let your arm fall off =)
What a great tutorial! Thank you!

June is the " Diva of Delicious "
This looks amazing! Personally I use a joconde bisquit for the cake, which is similar but uses more almond flour, but this time I`ll try this out:)
loveja1234 me too! I use a biscuits jock de usually. Did you go to pastry school? I don’t know many people who make this
I almost couldn’t find the video this year. Another successful Christmas in the book.
Looks smashing .... gonna make this for valentine’s and eat it myself.
Solid move.
Havent seen too many June dessert vids but I am here for them.
June you are AWESOME!!! I love all your videos!!
Thanks June looks great a delish..
Many pastry chefs take the cake out, cool a little, add the filling and roll it effortlessly without cracks. No pre-rolling. Each cook and chef is so different with this.
Thank you! Our Family Christmas is this Saturday and I am making this cake-I will let you all know how it all works out. I am excited! 🎄🎄🎄
Well?
And? How'd it turn out? BE HONEST! :-)
Love you June!😘
Hi June.
So enjoyed watching your video on
Making yule log.
I made one a week ago.
It was not as good as yours.
So glad I watched your video.
You are sweet, funny and explain what you are doing.
Happy new year!!
Happy new year! Practice makes perfect, keep on baking :)
These tips are great! I can't wait to show off my new sugar and egg knowledge.
I’m making this for our Christmas Dinner desert!
Thanks for sharing! Merry Christmas!
We used agar agar instead of gelatin. Had to add a bit more water, but it turned out great. Thanks for this super video.
Oml her instructions are amazing
June you should have your own RUclips channel I love your personality
June is a poet ❤❤
Third year of returning here to remind me of how to make this cake. Always a showstopper on the table.
I like the actual June's home kitchen more. Seems real to me.
Don't kill it, June! lololol
I LOVE KILLING THINGS!!
wow 🤩😍🤤
Hi 👋. Just thought I would mention that the written instructions do not read when or where the dry ingredients should be added. Thank goodness I had June to follow 👍🏼.
This looks amazing! I'd love for you to make stollen or panettone; I've struggled with both in the past.
I'M TERRIFIED OF PANETTONE BUT IT TASTES LIKE HEAVEN
i liked its very very beautiful
I have made these since I was a child. This is the way it is done. Except the filling usually is a little more beige by coffee or some bit of chocolate added.
Made this today. If I was to do it again I wouldn’t put sugar in the cream. And I’d probably leave the frosting off the cake as it dosnt need any. Way to rich for me personally. I made two it took about 7 hours all up
My fav cake. Thanks. Julia Child makes it more a project.
Thank you for posting this video. You have good tips for baking. I
am two thirds of the way through with this Christmas buche de noel. Should I add the frosting just before serving or should I do it first thing in the morning?
Hi! You can frost it and fridge it, but then the buttercream will harden and you will have to let it come to room temperature a little bit before serving. You will get a cleaner slice if the buttercream has had chilling time.
Do you have tips on butter cream? I tried few recipes with butter cream but it turned out bit grainy. Thank you.
Would it be easier to put the towel over the cake with something like a cutting board to lessen the chance of it breaking when removing from the pan?
A few years ago I spent Christmas in Paris and this bûche de noël looks better than the slice I had. 👍 Full disclosure, it was in a hotel lounge. 😀 Still...
*_Loved this recipe and demo._*
By the way, if Lauren ever decides to do a giant Hostess HoHo, this would be it.
I don't know, if we go big...we should go...BIG...right?
Hok aloh
What exactly is the baking pan size?
It's not the holiday season without one!! 🤭
That frosting is THICCCCCCCCC
If I use agar agar instead of gelatin, will the quantity of the agar agar and the steps, be the same?
My cake batter before i added the egg whites turned out really thick like thicker than cookie dough and i can’t figure out why so i added two extra egg yolks and that didn’t do much and I added some water and it helped but by then it didn’t have much air. Not the end of the world because I still hadn’t added the egg whites, but the only problem was there was a puddle at the bottom of my egg whites because they had sat too long so I tried to whip it back up and it just made the whole thing liquidy. In the end it turned out surprisingly well because i added some baking powder. Its a little rubbery but it still tastes really good so im gonna try it again soon.
8:25 you could make the parchment paper go up the sides.
June is so funny and talented
Yum.
Excellant! And being old male and a total novice at baking lol I am going to try this. Wish me luck. Some how I think it will take few trys lol
So?....How many tries, and...How'd it turn out?
Ummm for gelatin just use cold water like really cold water almost ice water and let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes and you won't have any lumps. And for hitting it up use a double boiling pan can't remember the name but you can use it to melt the gelatin slowly and it only takes less then 5 minutes to use
where can I buy that measuring spoons?
here!: delishessentials.com/collections/baking
You're funny😆I enjoyed watching you
U can use a lil bit of melted white chocolate to replace gelatin
I call mine my Ironside and yes it’s a Doctor Who reference and my stand mixer 💕
Just like my mother makes, but she pronounces it more, French, perhaps.
How do I get a recipe for this buche with all of junes tips ?
Christmas in June? More like June in Christmas!
If I make the cake the day before a party & frost it the day of, should I store it in the fridge until I take it to the party?
Yes
Hi June can I ask what number on your Kitchen Aid Mixer do you whisk your egg whites on thank you
Start low, increase speed as you go! I never have to exceed 8, usually on a 6.
I wish jane have her own yt channel
The queen has 2 Kitchenaids- June! Do you think we do??
Thank you so much. And yes it gonna make this for Christmas 🎄 💖
instructions unclear
house got on fire after trying to separe the eggs
RIP
Was that some trap music while you added your vanilla and gelatin???🤔 😁 Doing a dance while I bake!
How many days will the cream hold and not "weep"?
Where do you get that coca powder the one in red can, or there another one u can substitute
Any high quality dutch process cocoa powder will do! I aim for a $6-8 price range.
@@thank9stars Is it okay if we use only natural cocoa powder? If yes, then should I use 4 tablespoons of just the natural one in total?
@@jenniferbatliwalla8587 yes, an equal amount of any cocoa powder will do! It will just change the flavors a bit.
Can I freeze this after I put the stabilized cream in and defrost on the day and put buttercream ?
I would not freeze the cream mixture. I think fridge is fine for a couple of days!
@@thank9stars thank you 😁
Is there really a difference between heavy cream and heavy whipping cream?
