We need more budget eats please
Done!! :) :)
You deserve it June, thank you I hope you win
Done and done! You're in the lead! Totally got this in the bag!
Can we please have more budget eats videos from June PLEASE
So apparently we now need an episode where June has to use the things in her freezer/high cupboard that have been around for a while.
Love it!!
same way she uses really expired ingredients that can double as a bio hazard
@@Blue-xk8vq I have a reputation to maintain, who am I if not #trashfood extraordinaire?
@@thank9stars you definitely are
Yeah, I agree. Also, I wouldn't mind more info on food recommendations for folks with auto-immune & skin issues.
This kitchen has definitely become some sort of character in this channel.
So does June, she does not act like this at all on her own channel and even mentioned on her personal channel that she doesn't care about the webby award because it's all just bureaucracy.
I did not know I needed string lights in my kitchen, until June.
@@NickdeBey umm... no? She's still the same june
@@NickdeBey she has her own channel? what is it so I can subscribe
i love this because its so real and relatable. Tired of all those youtubers with pristine white shelves of just 3 jars (all same design of course) meticulously placed in a straight line for the nuts, seeds and some other superfood of the season!
The real world ♥️♥️♥️
💯
Anyone else want June to start a new cooking series called "The cabinet over the Fridge"?
I second that.
Me, three.
Definitely
What if you did an episode where the intention is to not go shopping but instead clean out the fridge and pantry items that are going ignored?
I was thinking the same thing. She needs to make a meal with what’s in her kitchen already
anyone else secretly hope that we keep seeing this kitchen even after corona?
I was thinking that while watching this as well. I liked her and her videos before, but part of the loveliness is her ability to just be her self in her own kitchen. That's what makes this so alluring to me. She's real in a real kitchen. That and Aaron with his funny t-shirts and mustache.
This kitchen makes me reminisce the days when my mom would ask me to get something from the fridge and I’d have to open 5 yogurt containers before I figured out which one had what she needed 😂
Haha this
I DON'T WANT NEW POTS, Y'ALL, I LIKE MY CHEAP POTS!
So excited to see this @junelikethemonth
Your spice cabinet makes me so happy!
Why do you like the cheap pots?
I'm weak 🤣
Lol I have the same pots
I hear ya! I still have my $2 junk store saucepan and $3 serrated knife. Still work after 16yrs so no need to upgrade
Just when you think you couldn’t possibly love her even more she tells you she has a drawer filled with cat/dog treats despite not having pets 🤯🥰♥️
"who's the coolest person you cook for?" "Myself obviously..."
This is the best thing right here don't let other people dictate what you're going to cook, who you going to cook for: cook because you want to cook and like what you cook because you cooked it, right?
EVERY VIDEO WITH JUNE IS A TREASURE!
Yessss!!!❤
Absolutely.
I totally agree!
6:00. The two colored bags are “Furikake” (a kind of rice seasonings), which we use when we are bored to eat just normal rice. The blue one is “sesame and salt”, which is one of the most popular furikake in Japan, and the second one is “umeboshi (salty plum)” one.
No idea about the first two transparent bags...
I love the umeboshi with onigiri (rice balls), its my favourite flavour. Works awesome. You can buy it EVERYWHERE in Japan, even the dollar store (100yen). (=
I think one of the bags contains long pepper
One is long pepper..an important spice in india for curing cold. Can be added to Rasam..the famous Indian soup
June is so adored and loved by people she will never meet. How beautiful is that.
“It makes me feel like I’m about to die, in a very very bad way, not in a calm and soothing way-“
June, WHAT?
This was my favorite quote of this video too. Gotta love June
I was like "Yes that is a whole mood tho"
One of those the second one was long pepper commonly used in india to make basel pepper tea concoction called 'kaadhaa' for someone sick. Can be used in chai too during winters. Or even indian style oats. Use it whole mainly it may drive you mental if you break it or grind it. Its generally 10x spicy than small round pepper.
Already voted and I have to accept some of the credit since I have watched every budget eats maybe ten times and that is a very conservative estimate. It brings me joy in these stressing times
As an Indonesian, I'm so happy to see Aaron getting excited for ayam sambal ijo, because, same!
June’s HAIR just keeps getting better and better every video
Better.... is not the word I would use. But it is growing on me.
I agree. Better and better!!
The spoon/gable thingy Aaron gifted you, I saw it for the first time watching your videos and I thought how cool is it. After a severe stroke my dad was left with a paralyzed right arm so eating certain things became a bit of a struggle with limited mobility. I saw yours, searched the good old Amazon, found one and ordered it. He absolutely loves it. Makes eating way less frustrated and a better experience for him. So, besides all the cool recipes you do, this one really was a game changer for us. Thank you.
June needs a video of cooking using the random items in above the fridge cabinet items.
Hey June,
I recently started watching budget eats( well not recent, since the 2nd episode came out) and i must say i love they show. You put in so much effort and your creativity is unmatched. Being an Indian, living in India I simply loveeee when you try indian dishes and the spices and even mithai (sweets) . Also i must say Aaron’s spice level literally makes me feel he must have been an indian in his past life. All Indians love their spice.
I have a special request and i hope you and the delish team can work it out.
I feel indian food is veryy underrated in the US and not widely recognised in the countries, cultures as well.
I want/ would love to see a week ( or at least a day full of different indian recipes, part 2-3 can follow up) of budget Indian meals with all of the common breakfast, lunch dinner foods and drinks, sweets that most people dont know about.
And using ingredients like ghee, and the variety of masala, spices . This would really mean a lot .
Really wish it happens.
I actually envy those who can eat hot and spicy foods. I cannot tolerate even just a bit hot. I love spices and different flavors but NO heat at all.
I would also like to be exposed to the Indian cuisine
YES
@@nancyclegg3554 Most Indian cuisine isn't spicy. It's well spiced but not spicy. Our everyday food is actually pretty normal, flavorful and simple. Vegetables, dal, rice, occasional chicken or meat dish on weekends. Check out some simple homestyle recipes! Also Indian food is super regional, so every state/region will have vastly different food. Our food is NOT mysterious orange gravy in takeout containers.
June: biz idea - put together a box of your twenty essentials for spices / seeds and sell them to us 💜
It would be full of msg 😂
Best of luck June, you deserve to be awarded.
the soursop, i blend it with water, sometimes add a little bit of sugar and drink it as "AGUA FRESCAS" it means refreshing water . Sour sop has a lot health benefits and thats why i drink it.
What I really like about June and her kitchen is seeing how well loved the items are. Like how she repurposes containers and creatively recycles other equipment. How the pots and pans are very well used This kitchen feels so relatable, so homey and non-intimidating at all.
Confession: in one of the MANY MANY rewatches of Budget Eats, I was finally able to see the brand of your Spork - Snow Peak, for anyone else who is curious, and may or may not have ordered one of my own off of Amazon, inspired of course, by June.
I did the same. Glad I am not the only one
OMG thank you for this! I've been turned onto sporks thanks to June. Why did I think they were a bad thing? You get the right amount of scooping with just enough stabbing. Perfect for pies of all varieties, macaroni & cheese, stews, Swedish meatballs...I could go on!
I definitely just looked up their website and bought two of them lol
The first one of the transparent bags is cubeb pepper or tailed pepper (round with a stem), the other is long pepper. Both were also used in European medieval cooking.
This video is proof that y’all need to pay June more...
in new york this is a steal! lol
I assure you, she gets paid plenty. She lives in Woodside, cost of living there is 80% higher than the national average.
@@BillyBadass But NYC salaries (non corporate) are not 80% higher than the national average.
This comment is always here. Is there someplace where T was spilled about her making less than the others at Delish? If not, it seems it could possibly be bordering on being a little offensive to assume she’s underpaid. Based on what?
@@hopegold883 based on her insane talent, views of RUclips and the fact she still works from a studio flat
I need a “Season with June” video series where she literally just explains spices and what to use em for cause i am in a seasoning salt + cayanne peper household and thats it 🙃 would love to know more and get outside the comfort zones
Wait, FRIED CHICKEN FURIKAKE?!? I NEED THIS IN MY LIFE.
Yes you do
I love the clip where Aaron is randomly standing in the kitchen. It made me laugh so hard. 😂🤣
I feel like everything that’s touched by June is so well loved and cherished, whether it be her cutlery, her spices, her timer... it must feel so good to be appreciated and loved by June 🥰
June! Love your NYC kitchen in all its NYC-ness! It has definitely added a layer of character and personality to your videos - you look so at-home and at ease, that I also end up feeling the same. I have binge/comfort-watched all of your videos during Covid. Please don't leave us and go back to a workplace kitchen! June and her kitchen are just what I want to see. I can't explain myself beyond that.
“I didn’t want to finish this without offering you some.”
I didn’t know selflessness like this existed and I’m inspired.
i love how close to home and relatable June’s kitchen is. random containers that aren’t what they’re supposed to be filled with, pots and pans that have been cooked on hundreds of times and just the general look of it is so... normal. You see really a lot of intricate and fancy kitchens on youtube where everything is so organized and perfect, and its great to oogle and envy on, but its such a comfort to see June’s kitchen and how great food is cooked in the most not so perfect kitchens.
You are such a great person, love your ways of problem solving and how you make every ingredient last so long. It's crazy, I hope you win that award!
I think if this appeared on Subtle Asian Traits on Facebook, everyone would celebrate and comment on how June's a true "Asian" for recycling containers as "Tupperware" (yes I know, stereotype) and how it is OG thriftiness/environmental friendliness. Thanks, June and the Delish team for indulging us once more.
Yeah, it also a thing in Hispanic households ☺️
as a fellow person who has autoimmune issues a series on helping your immune system via foods would be appreciated.
We need more people like June in this world. I have even more love for her, since I've seen the random spices and compost "disguised" as a bag of strawberries 😄
Reminds me of my own kitchen and Indian home kitchens! I have internalized my trauma of opening delicious jam jars only to find soaking prunes and opening yogurt to find urad dal
You can blend the cashews with some water, and use it to finish curries. Kinda like cream.
Yup! Also great for non dairy stroganoff
Wow this is actually a great tip.
I would love to see an episode where June makes meals only from ingredients already in her kitchen
She does that all the time on her personal channel. :)
@@heddabedda306 where can I find her personal channel? I need more June!!

I just love the way you can describe food and your feelings
I've been cursing my can opener for YEARS every time I use it, it's so awful. It's one of those things that I never think about except when I actually use it, which is why I haven't replaced it yet. So when June says that Oxo makes the best can opener in the world, I pause the video, go to amazon, and buy it. And yes, I paused the video to get a good look and made sure I was getting the right one. Thanks June! (I'll be voting of course :)
I LOVE my OXO can opener. It is the best! So easy to use and worth every penny!
I watch every June video multiple times religiously 😂 it’s my morning routine because your voice makes me want to fight my depression and get up and cook even if it’s not perfect, AND it’s also my wind-down routine because your voice makes me feel calm and relaxed and like everything’s going to be okay.
I haven’t voted for any of these award thingies in close to a decade but for you June!!!! I voted!!!! 💖
that refrigerator, tho... i'm not even talking about the contents.. that refrigerator is the dream.
Please make a budget eats video with the stuff above the fridge. They can be "free" items plus say $10.
June's voice is so comforting! I could listen to her talk about random spoons she's collected all day long!
hey June, I'm from Peru and we have maca for breakfast as a hot drink(maca con leche ,quinoa drink its very popular) , its usually sold in street carts with avocado sandwich's, I also tried it in cookies, it has a nutty earthy flavor or in smoothies with a little cacao powder.
It's real, your kitchen is real. We all like real. Thank you June.
The blue bag ar 5:58 is ごま塩(gomashio) - it's toasted sesame salt :) Great on rice or in onigiri rice!
June, and Sohla. I don't need anyone else to teach me how to have fun in the kitchen, on my budget. Love you, June! Voted already, too.
My house is about twice the size of your kitchen (182 sf), and half of it is kitchen/pantry. lol Thanks for the tour.
Thank you for telling me about Sohla. Just started watching her salad rules video and I'm already in love. Adorable dog, and then a seinfeld moment in the first minute? Omg I have been missing out!
I could watch June all day!! Y’all need to get her some good pots
I did once
The one longish black thing is called 'peepli' or long pepper, it has medicinal properties. Generally used in broths. It is warm and peppery and a peculiar aftertaste to it.
Came here to say this, also used a lot in Medieval European Court/Royal food.
Thank you for the tour, June! And for all the videos you've put out over the past year. I'm sure it's frustrating at times, but these videos truly have been such a pure source of joy. Here's hoping you win the award!
I honestly didn't think I could relate to June more....and then she pulled out the spoons and now I would like to marry her...sorry Aaron :p
I would love a spice and sauce series from June. Even her "most used spices" i have never used. Would love to add more flavours to my cooking!
One of the mystery spices was "long peppercorn" and is like a more intense black peppercorn. I also have a giant old bag of maca that I don't know what to do with!
So excited to use it! As for the maca, I've since put a tablespoon into all my smoothies.
@@thank9stars I actually bought the maca because it is supposed to help with libido....it didn't, hehe
Same. I bought a pack of maca powder two years ago, and I'm finally down to half a pint of it. I'm forever putting things in smaller and smaller jars until it's gone. I add it to smoothies and to refrigerated oatmeal. It has a malted flavor that isn't my favorite, but I hear it's good for you so I keep throwing it in stuff.
The maca powder is excellent in an “energy bite.” In your Vitamix, put equal parts nuts and pitted dates and waz until they’re a toffee-like paste. Add maca, water if needed, maybe salt if the nuts weren’t salted. Scoop out the mix with a cookie baller or ice cream scoop. Some people roll the dough balls in coconut or chocolate chips, etc. I just like cashew, dates and maca. It’s very caramelly. Refrigerate. Eat when you’re hangry to take the edge off. Also, make sure you’re getting enough zinc to calm the eczema and try Atopalm cream, if you haven’t.
I don't know what it is, I can't pinpoint it, but you are sooo adorable. I don't know if it is the way you stay serious while saying the most surprising things, but you are . I find you incredibly funny, serious, surprising and adorable.
I have an economy studio. That means my kitchenette is in my living room. Everything smells like garlic, so much garlic.
Adore garlic
JUNE! I'm so happy for you! I watch all of your videos and always have them playing when I'm doing other things. You deserve this nomination! Good luck!!
THE SRIRACHA YOU REALLY LIKE IS FROM THAILAND! fun fact: that is where sriracha originated, and this brand is the OG sriracha... not the rooster brand that is vietnamese
June, you are so adorable. Congratulations on your nomination. I enjoy your videos so much! 😉
I absolutely love you June! Just the sweetest, most thoughtful and authentic lady ever! I just adore you 🙂
I hope you understand just how much joy you bring us. Anytime I am sad I want to watch your videos. I love you, like, for real 🤗
I’m sooooo glad you answered the clean stove question. I’ve always wondered.
I add maca to my turmeric tea and also hit chocolate. Noms!
Love it! June is awesome and excited when new content is available. She’s that good... her and Julia make delish
I think both of the Japanese spice packets you showed are rice seasonings! The blue packet says sesame salt and the red packet is a pickled plum based furikake!
I am so glad to see someone who has the same ideals and values as me (and many of younger Americans!) represented. She is a great inspiration to be a better human and to be a better community member! Thank you June!
Spleenies fam!🥰🥰🥰
I love your kitchen tour with every single edge. Thanks so much for sharing.
You have a whole wall to do narrow shelves or pegboard hooks and shelves. Small but functional kitchen. 😀
Yeah, we technically have an eat in kitchen in our apartment but they have like, twice the cupboards we do
What a jewel June is! I love her videos. This just proves you can cook in any kitchen - no excuses!!
I like this kitchen a lot because it’s similar to what I have. I don’t have a ton of countertop space to prep, no big butcher blocks and kitchen island for food prep, just a sliver of space. I won’t say that the other fancier kitchens aren’t real because they are but this just hits closer to home and in a way encourages me to tru despite not having every fancy equipment out there.
INDONESIAN squadddd!
Glad you like Indonesian food June!
The best!
Amazing, much love! Your authenticity gives me hope! Keep it up, girl!
Love the energy she exudes
man, june’s brain has a completely different relationship with food than I could ever imagine having, saving & resourcefulness & creativity & spontaneity and I could watch her forever!
More of that delicious June content that we crave
