Hey Apollo, I just want to point out that Jeanne d'Arc fought on the battlefield on multiple occasions. As you said she was wounded several times. The french commanders wanted her to stay out of the fightings, but many times (on sieges like Orleans, Paris etc) she jumped right into the action. Some of her moves were actually completely crazy, charging alone against the ennemy on multiple occasions (Orleans siege turning point started with one of Jeanne's reckless move). But, thats during one of theses attacks (during the siege of Paris) that she was finally captured and brought to the english. To sum up: french commanders wanted to use her as a cheerleader, but she always wanted to rush right into the action (she believed that god was with her). She was absolutely passionate about taking France back and corronating the king of France. Awesome girl.
@@the_dropbear4392 There's a lot of historical sources (Dunois, Du Guesclin) describing how she was always rushing the ennemy, and giving orders to the troops during combat. When she was captured in Compiegne, she was one of the last french soldiers remaining on the battlefield. She was also wounded twice. She started cavalry charges and siege assaults by her own (and yes, against direct orders: french commanders and even the king didn't wanted her to fight or take any kind of military role). There's no record of her killing a man, but I believe she might have killed. Since she became a Saint later, that topic was most probably put "under the carpet" by the church. It is also very likely that she lied on that subject during her trial (there are records of her lying multiple times during her trial on various topic, but she knew that this wasn't a real trial, the goal was to get rid of her, all the means were good to picture her as a witch (saying that she had killed would definitly seal her fate way quicker, not a good move since she hoped to be rescued by the king of France). But in regards of all that knowledge, there's a real possibility that she might have killed or wounded mens, considering all the action she have seen during her military campaigns, makes sense. If I recall correctly, Besson's movie on Jeanne d'Arc pointed out that topic during her captivity phase (that and the "reality" of her visions). The film is far from perfect but it displayed that topic with an interesting manner).
Pixie I'm about half way in and it's great!!! I'm so glad you are playing this more!! Thank you for brightening my day and for being my favorite RUclipsr!! Keep up the great work!!! Thank you again!
I recently stopped watching RUclips as there isnt any content that interests me anymore. But your videos are always amazing and full of exciting action. Thankyou for another brilliant battle 😄
Hey apollo, maybe a video suggestion. Is it an idea to make a top 10 of biggest battles, closest battles, reconmended watch, etc. for the people that are new to your channel? Maybe for an end year summary of the best or worst of 2017/2018, what stuck with you the most. Overall this was a great battle, really nice watch!
Actually the mod tools on warhammer are much more advanced than anything before it in TW games...the difference though is the rules/legal aspect keeping them from importing new models. They can alter models and such but can't make brand new ones to mess with the brand IP and that is on GW not CA.
Why doesn’t CA add more maps with smoke and flames? It makes battles so cinematic instead of dying over and over on the same green fields or pristine castles. Imagine Skaven charging out of the mist or even in the new 3 Kingdoms the only reason the battles look interesting because of the flags flying in the wind and the burning trees
My battle, My battle against the tides, Wave after wave, My battle against them, Wave after wave, Death knocking on my door, Letting me know that I should give up, No, I fight and will be doing that, Victory is my death. Victory is my reason of a fight. - Kellin
Apollo, forget what people say in the comments, most are kids or either have waaaay too much time on their hands, they are the type of people who complain when its hot and complain its cold in winter too. Your'e content is entertaining and actually pretty original which is rare nowadays, you've found your niche, stick with it. Peace and respect.
Yes. It's more better without squad badges. It's realistically. Apollo has a good videocard. That's why it's interesting for me to watch his video. And this medieval video is very Gothic!
Considering the swath of factions added in the latest Total Wars(playable or otherwise), I think you could reasonably assume that a theoretical Medieval 3 would have more faction diversity than previous Medieval Total War games, though you're probably right that the unit selection wouldn't be nearly as diverse as this mod.
Trier .... Tree r ... you had it right actually. One of the oldest city of germany, back to roman times as Augusta Treverorum ... the more you know ^^ And of course CA cannot do like mods ... glad you acknowledged why CA and modders cannot be compared. Modders are great, but they do not build from scratch, just use what CA already created....
I have another request to Apollo! Please lower the camera speed a little...And make sometimes a delay on the battle of any squads for 10-15 sec!!! Because All flashes.Thank you for understanding!
He is American. I suppose he may harbour positive feelings towards the French because of the aid given during the Civil War of Separation from the British.
Pixie please find more seven kingdoms battles. I'll play with you if you'd let me but I just love the mod so much and 1.4 is way more graphically enhanced than 1.0 and somehow they made combat super fluid.

Awesome girl.
Some would say she was burning with passion.

@@MrBrunswick I'd say too soon but it's been 600ish years now so I don't think that can be applied here. ;\
Err she was right at the front inspiring the men, but she never fought, by her own admission

God, this map is beyond awesome. Looks like a skirmishing area between the fortified armies. So goddamn cool... I never get tired of medieval battles.
Mr. Brunswick I don’t think anyone does

Apollo: "Is that a beard? Is there anything more mainly than this?"

I agree on those Sergent d'Armes (early) They really do look amazing! Very excited for that 1212AD Campaign
Apollo nerding out over knights gives me life
The flaming Apollo statues in the middle of the battle! The Gods of War are awaiting their sacrifice!
Apollo! There is this novelist called Cornwell and his books are taking place roughly in the 100 years war era... I think you will love them
2:02 that's it boisssss artillery trick shot xD
God was like "Joan, move some units at this flank, i can tell you that its looking good in the future"
I will never get tired of these battles
Yes, this is a good fight
"Burning on fire" - Apollo 2018
Great video man
Expect to see lots of Medieval Kingdoms Total War 1212AD vids.
Appollo: they are using very large armies so it’s like a 4v4 just with four players
Me: so it’s a 4v4
Thomas Patterson I meant 2 players lol
13.20 Did somebody else had to think about brave heart when the 2 armies just stopped in 2 meter distance to have a nice talk ?
Yessss love these videos👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

I’ve been here since before 60k and I still haven’t been let down for epic battles

I agree with Apollo. It's very great map. But...Only units of the Inquisition are missing.
2:03 Un-friggin-believable they got a catapult collateral damage shot...
Congrats on 500k!!!
"He must have dismounted her..." Lmao, that was a weird phrase.
*talking about artillery*
"I GUESS THEY NEVER MISS HUH"
Joan of Arc getting excommunicated is kind of ironic, considering she became a saint and a martyr… but cool nonetheless.
I hope your email isn't flooded with spam or weirdos. Great battle commentary Apollo, really got me into it.
Apollo can you do another Life of a Soldier on this battle that would be so cool!

I WANT NAPOLEON
This mod is so well polished!
I saw a video of Napoleonic total war. Thought it was you Apollo. Turns out it was lionheart.
0:40 Ah yes, my favourite newspaper.
I really enjoy watching siege battles on this mod of Total war : Atilla .
Man, 1212AD is so beautiful. So fucking beautiful.

This is what happens when you find a stranger in the alps
Its so awesome i was looking for 1212ad players to play with really apreaciate the steam the page :D
It's seems logical that Jeanne wouldn't go in combat as she wasn't trained to fight
I miss this feeling
This is so beautiful

Joan of Arc was a public figurehead controlled by key French nobles.
"HE JUST DISMOUNTED HER" ..."whoa thats a weird sentence"......LOL!!!!
it's so rare to see someone of anglo-saxon heritage appreciate the glory of France. thank you for being unbiased.
He is American. I suppose he may harbour positive feelings towards the French because of the aid given during the Civil War of Separation from the British.
Hello fellow canadian! most american tend to forget about that fact, but you may be right. apollo is well versed in history
