In Cruisin for Wii, there are some weird named cars, and this is what I believe they were trying to copy, but they had issues with licensing. Note that this also goes for the FNF arcade game
The Pershing 500 is supposed to be a Mercedes Benz

The RPG 360 is supposed to be a Porsche 911
The AKX is supposed to be a Ferrari 360 Modena

That's because this was actually suppose to be a Fast and the Furious game, but last minute changes and behind-the-scenes turmoil forced them to turn it into a Cruis'n game at the last second

The GBA version is pretty terrible. The Wii version is actually the same game as the first Fast and the Furious arcade game (without the license). Those games were essentially the continuation of the Cruis'n series.

True! Tommy isn't possible without Cheat Codes like Gameshark. Even with Speed Demon on Level 5 without Issues and hard driving i was always at least 10 Seconds to late on the Finish Line and i'm Raged out like: BRO, SERIOUSLY? HOW MORE PERFECT DRIVING YOU WANT FROM ME?

+Juan Cortez That would be cooI since I've never played San Francisco Rush. I've only played Rush2 Extreme Racing USA and I think it's better than the Cruisin' series because it's lap racing rather than point a to point b style racing. The cars are better to change things on as well. Of course this is just my opinion.

In the arcade you hold a view or radio button. On N64, I think it's one of the C buttons.

+romain d It should just show up as a joystick. Do you have joystick input enabled in MAME? That's all I can think of.
+DarthMarino Yes, input joystick is enabled but break and accelerator are reverse. Do you know why ?
+romain d Press tab and go to "Analog Controls" and you will see options to reverse the axises.

how do you unlock the SKOOL BUS in crusin world i cant find it on any web sites cheats and the SPEED DEMON car 9.999 points in championship come on you barely get 10 fucking points per race in championship
It says to get Skool Bus you need to Complete the Egypt track with under Practice Championship with a time less than 1:07:00. I am just running the game through an emulator for the video and it had a build in code to unlock all the cars. It's the same as running a GameShark on a real N64.

The Wii version doesn't have the essence of cruis'n original games.
It has the essence of Fast and the Furious since it's just a home port of that game.
Cruis’n Wii was a originally intended to simply be a home version of Raw Thrills and Midway’s Fast and the Furious arcade racing game. Because Midway lost the Fast and the Furious film license during development, the game was reskinned to remove any and all traces of the Fast and the Furious and anything to do with it, with the exception of the use of licensed cars.

Um.. let's see.. Speed, design... yup that's it.

The different stats matter. Top speed, acceleration, skidpad (handling) and aero all affect gameplay. In some cases, like the Rocket (or other generic high end super car) they will outpace the competition and are usually given as later game unlocks.
This IP along with "WaveRace" really need to be brought back from the dead.
There was technically a Cruis'n arcade game a few years back (which is why I added the years to the video title). Wave Race definitely deserves a new game.
