Hi Mary - My latest video is a post gear review that goes through everything I took on The West HIghland Way. But for quickness, the tent was a Tarptent Notch Li, Sleeping quilt was a Thermarest Corus 20 degree (-6) and the pad was the Exped Downmat Lite - Lighter pack link is here: lighterpack.com/r/wk6n4f Hope that helps and thanks for watching.
Hello from Singapore! Just wanted to drop a comment to congratulate you on finishing! The west highland way is on my bucket list, so thanks for your videos on it! :)
Wow!! Singapore 🇸🇬! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. I’m sure you’ll love Scotland, although it’s difficult to understand what they are saying! Lol 😂
Interesting comment about peeps quitting the Wet Highland Way …. people generally think backpacking is easy … and they quickly find out it’s not !… sure you see yourself and others doing 15 to 20 miles a day but you really have to build up to that with some sort of fitness training (ie hiking with a pack) …. also you have to dial in your gear … backpack , sleep system , footwear it’s all critical to try out before you go attempt something like the WHW or the EHW …. great series Julia thanks for sharing your adventure and i look forward to the 10 tips for hiking the WHW …. atb Dave Mc
Very true about gear. I’m always tinkering with my gear. Some people’s packs were huge! I actually gave one woman the nickname of “huge rucksack lady”. It must have been at least 75/80L pack which was full to the brim with things dangling off it, and she wasn’t even camping! God knows what she had in there! Thanks for following along Dave. Xx
Thank you for your video about the WHW. It was a great inspiraiton to walk the WHW by myself last year. Greetings from Poland.

Congrats Julia, enjoyed watching. Can you tell us the make of the tent, sleeping bag and sleep mat you used doing the walk.

Well done Julia. You seemed to be very fortunate with the weather.....not always the case in Scotland from past experiences! Best wishes, Chris x
I’m walking it again on 2nd July and I’m expecting rain and midges! I was very lucky this time around.
