Hello, really enjoyed the video and am planning on purchasing. In the title, it staes a 20% code, but there is nothing but a 10% off. What is the code and where for the 20% to purchase? Thank you.
@@user-qc4tt2qm9vthe 20% sale was during the dates listed in the video. The code will give at least 10% off, if Cardo is offering a bigger sale that discount may be higher.
Good customer support only goes so far. If you are on your third device of the same model, it sounds as though there is a problem with the Paktalk Edge in general. What are your thoughts?
As I mentioned in my last video, these devices are built in Ukraine... Which has had some internal issues over the last couple years if you've been watching the news. Unfortunately that's not uncommon with these modern lithium batteries as most come from that region, but I would venture a guest that a lot of the quality control issues on the battery side are as a result of that.
What Cardo should make is a GMRS radio to hardwire to your bike, that also links up to a communicator on the helmet via bluetooth. This would allow up to a 50w power supply for the GMRS (probably overkill for a bike), but would allow for a much greater range (miles of range). They could even have a handlebar mounted channel controller for the GMRS part of the system. This would also be a great addition for those of us that spend our time primarily off road, as we could link up with other off roaders (sxs, jeeps, etc..) that one could be traveling with, or around for better off road communication for all users of an area. As GMRS is now the de-facto standard in the USA for many off road clubs and Jeep jamboree's.
I have just that. I have the packtalk Edge and a GMRS-Pro radio with remote TX button. It has Bluetooth and once I lose connect on the Cardo, I just hit the button and I have 6 watts of power to communicate. All comes through my helmet. It's bada$$
Great idea. I connected a 5w CB radio by a home made Bluetooth adapter and testing was able to talk to my son back at the house 5 kilometres away. Sadly never used it again as never had mates get on board with helmet comms in that way. Another way for long range comms would be VOIP like FaceTime audio. Or a ptt app like Zello. And the other end doesn’t have to be in a helmet either.
Have a Freecom X4 and very happy with it. Only ride with smaller groups so no need for a mesh unit for me. Voice controls and over-air updates work well.
I’ve been debating about getting this with my new Shoeii RF-1400 helmet. I’ve never had a Cardo. The cardo edge is on sale at Amazon for $300. Do you think the Pro is worth the $$ upgrade to that?
Honestly, the crash detection and auto on/off features are cool, but not necessary. The Pro is worth the money only if you want the 45mm speakers. They're a nice plus, but the RF-1400 will probably be fine with the standard 40mm JBLs. Shop around to see where you can get the best price.
Somewhat different subject I just purchased the Garmin xT2 How are you connected? I’ve tried two ways where the edge paired to xT2 and the iPhone paired to xT2 What I don’t have any longed is Siri call …. I have to touch screen and choose who to talk to
The Edge has dual Bluetooth receivers, allowing pairing to multiple devices at the same time. The "phone pairing" mode is connected to my motorcycle (essentially, my phone), and the "GPS pairing" mode connected to my XT2. My XT2 is also paired to my phone, but only though the Tread app. It works well for me
Packtalk Edge long time Cardo user. Customer service is top notch. Range is my only issue seems better with line of site. Will get blocked out in Mountains and around a couple of local spots where other rider isn't visible but very close by.
Agreed. I was hoping that would be part of the update. As mentioned in another comment, an on-bike device that bridges the DMC frequency into a longer reaching transmitter would be cool
One point about the price. The Pro is $40 cheaper than the Edge if you consider that the Pro comes with the upgraded 45 mm speakers included (which cost an additional $100 if you add this to the cost of the Edge)
Glad you asked! It's a product called Brake Free, a wireless brake light for the back of your helmet to attract attention. It is completely independent of your bike, and detects whenever you slow down via engine braking, downshifting, or using your actual brakes which makes it pretty cool. www.brakefreetech.com/?absrc=Google&abid=688934911374&abcampid=13287417526&gclid=Cj0KCQjwu8uyBhC6ARIsAKwBGpT0gCMo-50hRFMWgI7C9PyacXbXJk0WwwuIIc3WNvrEjDXN640Htr0aAlgWEALw_wcB&gad_source=1
From what I can see so far for me personally the only benefit of the new pro is the fact the the price of the edge has now dropped meaning you can now buy the duo pack for less than the price of the new pro & for me the pro doesn't rally do anything you can't already do on the edge.

Definitely an option!
Super interesting

Creative idea! I would say that a cell data based system is less than ideal in poor coverage areas.

@@4KMotoring amazing. Thank you! I hear the 45mm are a hard fit in the shoei as well.
@@SoCalScents tight, but not impossible. The sound quality isn't night and day different from the slightly larger speakers.
im wondering if we will be able to buy the 45mm speakers and use them on the pactalk edge
The 45 mm speaker kit has been available for the edge and the bold for years, you can save 20% on that kit until the 28th with my discount code

Fair point!
I just looked online & here in the UK & Europe at least you can now get a duo pack of the edge for less than a single pro.
What is that on the back of the helmet and what’s it for

Like how it matches your helmet did you pay extra for that
Skins are available online, found one that matched the helmet and didn't hesitate ordering it!
It’s good to see shake awake, but since the edge battery is not soldered in it would be great to see a user replaceable battery.
That wouldn't be a bad idea either, so long as the water tight rating could be maintained

My battery burned only 50% after 20hrs of continuous use motovlogging & listening to music
Awesome! There are definitely some good ones out there!
