This bike is a great beginner bike for those who want the cruiser Style but don't want the weight or size of a bigger bike, or the expense of something that could cost two to three times more. Honda is very clever in using its 500 CC engines along the cruiser and CB lineup. So clever in fact, I just bought a cb500x. It doesn't have the problems this bike has except for the weak rear brake, but everything else is a hit. I love it!
Great review! I think i've watched every single Honda Rebel 500 review, and you're the only one who did some lane filtering, and city driving! Thank heaps :)
Really liked this video, this was the review i was looking for, you managed to talk about of all crucial points, and the best part, you filmed in city traffic, since is what i will mainly do, and your city traffic is like mine ( Lisbon, Portugal). I am planning to do some long crusing but not more than 150 klm till i stop and rest for the next day. Best review about this bike so far. Cheers mate!!
Great video. I am thinking about taking up motorcycling and I was drawn to the beginner bikes such as the Rebel 500, YAMAHA SR400 or Harley Street 500.
I would definitely recommend the Rebel 500 as a beginner bike. Reasonable power for a reasonable price. Chances are you will not outgrow that bike for a couple of years.
All 3 would be great I bought a kawasaki 500 vulcan new in 2017 still have it today. I think 500ccs perfect for me.plenty of power, lightweight and fun to ride.
I wouldn't recommend the Street, otherwise each would be a good choice. The Rebel probably a little better for a first bike the SR probably better in terms of being able to do pretty much anything asked if it. But that may simply be my bias against cruisers generally.
Entertaining and useful review. Good editing. The lane splitting was like watching an adventure movie, will he make it, will he crash? This 500cc Rebel is definitely more useful for distance riding than the old 250, but why did Honda put on such wide tires? Seems to defeat the purpose of a 500cc bike.
Crezi ca daca e facuta in Thailanda, e facuta fara norme de calitate sau supraveghere? Butoanele de volan si bord de la VW, BMW si multe altele se fac langa Brasov... Sunt proaste? Nu cred...
DriveMag Riders you are very welcome, I’ve been following you for a while now. Since your review of GS and AT through Serbia. Can’t wait for cb500x review 💪🏽
Im 6 foot 1 and 160lb. Could i buy this bike for commute and touring? If not, what other bike would you suggest that is similar in terms of style and size?
I've been eyeballing this bike as my second motorcycle,I'm a shorter fellow I ride a Suzuki Savage, this bike has a little bit more horsepower. That's all I gotta say about that.
I have a question. What is your height? Are you 5’5? 5 feet and inches? I want to know so that i can imagine how i would look like on that bike before i buy one.
@@mr.angryman3599 Really?Im sorry...but I heard tall riders really like it even though the bike is very small and they have to ride it in a cramp position...
Been riding the new Rebel this year. I like the bike overall but the lean forward required for you to reach the bars is too much now, closer to a sportsbike
Yo soy de brazos un pelín cortos para esta moto. He instalado unos elevadores - acercadores de manillar que van divinos. Elevan 4 cm y acercan 2 cm. Muy fáciles de instalar. Los he encontrado en ebay, aunque no son baratos.
Depends on how long your legs are :) Seriously, do a test ride. I'm only 1,70 m and after about 2 hours, I'm glad to get off my Rebel 500 for just a couple of minutes to stretch my legs. Besides that, the ergonomics are really good in heaver traffic...
The sitting position is not normal for a cruiser, your feet is not forward the footrest. Like a regular non sport bike or like a retro not cruiser... I hope honda defines better what is cruiser really means. This is the reason i go for vulcan s.
Compare the specs: Rebel weight 414lbs torque 45.9ft-lb hp 32.9hp HP/LB 0.08 tor/LB 0.11 Phantom weight 549lbs torque 44.6ft-lb hp 47.9hp HP/LB 0.09 tor/LB 0.08 The rebel is probably faster off the line, while the shadow might hold speed a little better. The shadow is *significantly* heavier (bad in a parking lot, good in a crosswind). If you drive a lot, the Rebel burns less gas. Looks-wise, the shadow is old-school. I felt like Captain America riding mine. However, I can still dig the Rebel's modern take on the cruiser idea.
Gah! Got the Rebel torque/hp numbers switched around: Rebel weight 414lbs torque 32.9ft-lb hp 45hp HP/lb 0.11 tor/lb 0.08 So, torque is a wash, but the rebel has more peak horsepower.
I puffed with a magic dragon, and watched Ali G/ Borat. I found this channel right after that and I am dying laughing! Very NIIICE review!! (spoken with a Borat accent). No disrespect I subbed to your channel but a I am nicely toasted so don't be cruel!

When did FPS Russia start doing Motorcycle reviews. I bet his first modification is putting a machine gun on it. Trust this review, he is professional Russian.

Another Honda Rebel 500 review enthusiast, yay! I'm one too, can't wait to get my hands on that beauty!
Well done. I sent this bike to my son today. Perfect for his skill level. He’s small. Should fit well. Great review.

Best motorcycle channel yet!
Thank you for the review Borat. Where is your brother Bilo, still in the cage?
thanks for the honest review and make us really understand the actual bike fixtures
More informative than most reviews of this bike.
I like this review. Because of you I now want this bike.
Great little ride for city rides
Your accent is the main attraction towards the bike
"1 meter, 74" in height? I believe that translates to 5'8" and 1/2 inch. And he feels cramped? Not a good sign for a lot of riders.
Im 188cm (6ft 1) and its not cramped at all. Seat is definitely not comfortable however for anything more than 1 hr.
im 5'3
72" = 6"2"
Sounds like fps russia
M Sal89 miss that guy
don't be bitch!
Lol 😂
I think its Romania
He has been gone a while
This dude sounds like fps Russia hahahaha I really want one of these
I, too, would like a FPS Russia :D
I own and also like this bike (2020 edition with ABS). Nimble, fun, stylish. Only bad thing - battery removing/replacing. Oh man... :oD
very nice indepth but short review. And the way u talk is AWESOMEEE

Good honest review and I like your accent man..
Honda has come out with a string of bikes with cheap-looking, hard to read displays. They should hire a new display designer.
This bike would've been better served with analogue gauges.

Try Royal enfield.. You will have a lot to worry about..
Only Honda bike I love is CB 400 Vtec. The sound is sooo eargasm.

I think Kawasaki Vulcan
Thanks for sharing. Considering one! Cheers

@ickibot I got the Honda Rebel perfect for the shorter rider
Where can I buy the carrier with bracket? thanks

Great review thanks. I like the bike as well.
Very nice vídeo!
I Hope Honda bring Rebel 500 to Brazil!
Best Regards!
This reviewer is priceless! :-)
I ride one. I like it too. By the way Thailand is not in Japan. Google it.

alicia martin maetze . Oops! Misheard him

I like the review, honest to god and tells me what I need to know before buying it....great review, do a Kawasaki Vulcan S :)
hi ! I'm gonna buy this honda as my first bike 😀 but I would like to know... I'm 1m83 so the bike is not to low for me ? It will be confortable ?

Nice video
